Two Transit Workers attacked and one spat On.

Here's the thing about that: As you know, NYCT personnel cannot defend themselves from any attack whatsoever, lest they be fired, sued, jailed, or all 3. Other passengers can help a TO, CR, BO out if they want...but then, they'd be thrown in jail and personally sued along with NYCT and whatever employee is in the vicinity who "refused to take appropriate action".

Self defense is a NON EXISTENT term in NYC simply because of the(S)(H)(1)(T) we decide to put into our offices here in the city and Albany...and as you know, some of them have a little say-so in who goes up for a board seat and when. From governors, to senators, to mayors, to city council members, to district attorneys and AGs...their daily agenda is HOW TO SCREW US OVER.

So, the next time you get a candidate that talks about bringing back the death penalty, longer and stiffer sentences, no parole, and supports the 2nd amendment and rights for self defense...LISTEN TO THEM instead of writing them off as psychotic. And after you hear what they have to say, watch the news...and keep in mind who's currently in office and what their stance is. Then the solution will become clear as day.(NYCT)(A)

Therein lies the problem. The "suits" that write the rules that do not allow self defense (which is legally allowed to any "off the clock" individual anywhere...we have a RIGHT to protect our own lives), DO NOT actually need to protect themselves. They do not travel through bad neighborhoods, many have their own private security detail accompanying them, and they don't have to report to work or come home typically at bad hours of the day. It's very easy to sit up there in their ivory towers surrounded by armed security guards and say that "no one should ever need to use violence to defend themselves" when in fact they have no idea whether someone does or doesn't.

Clueless suits disconnected from reality can't make responsible decisions for other people who live and work in the real world. Likewise, they also stupidly assume that transit workers have a duty to risk their lives for the public. Sorry, that just ain't the way it is. They already risk their lives working around steel dust, stepping over live third rail on mainline track and in yards, and going on the roadbed to perform their duties. That's enough risk. They aren't cops, and they aren't train to be cops. Sorry, public, but if I end up working down here I'm not risking my life just to save some lady's purse from a snatcher, or somebody from getting an old fashioned ass whooping. And that's the attitude you gotta have in this city if you want to survive. It's harsh but the fact of the matter is you never know who you're dealing with, they could have a knife, they could have a gun. You may rush to someone's aid and help them, then the attacker turns on YOU, and the original victim bails on outta there without looking back one second to see if you're alright or to help you in return. And any Tommy Toughnuts out there oughta know it's not about being bigger or the better fighter because those fights get dirty quick with kicking and stomping and all the rules that don't apply in most fights getting broken fast...all it takes is one kick to the nuts or one lucky punch and you're done, no matter who's the better fighter, so it's a smart play not to be involved in the first place. Call it harsh but it is what it is. I won't fault a person on this planet other than a cop or a trained active soldier for not getting involved in a fight that wasn't theirs to begin with.
