N-Trizzy2609 Posted January 28, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2011 I was thinking about the old PaTransit train that ran from College Point, (Beaver Falls) PA to Pittsburgh via the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie. What was sad was the fact there were only two trains trips a day and it had only one three car set Push-pull train and single RDC car. I thinking maybe they can revive a newer service that will run from Beaver Co. to Pittsburgh but this time around using Amtrak and NS track instead of the older and much longer P&LE line. The idea is to have it run from either New Castle or Beaver Falls and move down the NS Pittsburgh Line towards Pittsburgh stopping at New Brighton, Rochester, Ambridge, West Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Amtrak. I'd like to see them use either good refurbished RDCs or DMUs.
TheKorean Posted January 28, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2011 I would suggest they connect the light rail service to directly serve the Union Station first before implementing the commuter rail.
