3rd Avenue El Posted March 20, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2011 okay in this thread you will create a mass transit system of bus routes and you may make a map showing the routes. you must include route numbers and terminals transit system etc... it must be of your own creation. may be based anywhere in the world. you need to have a slogan and company name description. and must have more than 10 routes. you must also include every route name number and destinations in your rapid transit system. you may use the following in your bus system: streetcar tram buses (of course) trolleys lightrail van routes paratransit transit center terminals monorail shuttles buses powered by pantographs like in san francisco please dont let this thread die. every time you post a system or route keep trying to improve it and post it here

Bus Guy Posted March 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2011 buses powered by pantographs like in san francisco That is what you call a trackless trolley or a trolley bus SMGDH....they use poles lol a trolley with a pole and a trolley with a pantograph are both trolleys lol no apples and oranges here. Trackless trolleys are the ones with 2 poles and rubber tires and dont use tracks and CAN NOT have a pantograph mounted on them, hence the name trackless trolleys based off the older all trolleys have a pole days unlike modern one that can use a pole or a pantograph.....and now class math time 1+1=2 lol I just had a yall dont know your stuff and you seem stupid moment lol Oh BTW they arent only in san fran
EE Broadway Local Posted March 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 20, 2011 One thing that San Francisco does have is cable cars! They are still popular to this day (especially with visitors). That and the Market Street line. A heritage streetcar line that uses nothing but vintage, working, streetcars and PCCs in daily service.
Bus Guy Posted March 20, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 20, 2011 One thing that San Francisco does have is cable cars! They are still popular to this day (especially with visitors). That and the Market Street line. A heritage streetcar line that uses nothing but vintage, working, streetcars and PCCs in daily service. Ah yes glad to see them put to use instead of septa scrapping them in the 90s and yes cars 1050-1063 have a septa/ptc background. Tis a shame allot were scrapped as we have only 18 rebuilt ones but all the class was taken out of them with ac/heating and sealed windows.... http://world.nycsubway.org/perl/show?42962
