Who works on a holiday?

There are more run assignments on a weekday schedule than on Saturday. But today, buses are running on a Saturday schedule because of the holiday.

Suppose you work Monday-Friday with RDO of Saturday and Sunday. Do you work today?

Suppose you work Wednesday-Sunday with RDO of Monday and Tuesday? Do you work today because Saturday is your regular work day but Monday is your RDO?

The same question applies when buses run on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Memorial Day.

There is a book that you sign to be off for weekdays that service is running on a Saturday or Sunday schedule. If you don't sign it or if you signed it but don't have enough seniority to get the day off the the crew dispatcher will put you on the extra list for the day. If you are off that weekday then you don't have to come in, an extra list guy will do whatever run you normally do on Saturday.

That's the Fall Off list right?

Thanks for the explanation. You bring up an intersting subject on extra list.

I didn't see any extra list jobs on the LAG winter pick list that's on the internet. Can you pick extra list or is extra list determined after all the runs are filled? On LIRR and Amtrak, you stay at home and wait for the call. For MTA Regional Bus, do you sit at home or in the depot?

You could pick a run, floater, extra list or vacation relief.

In answer to your second question. When on the extra list an assignment is assigned to you a day before by 2pm. You would just have to show up at your report time. Once all the runs are covered with drivers and you are on the extra list and its your regular day to work. They would put you on report. Report is when you come in and wait around till something becomes available.
