nostalgia Posted March 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2012 The clocks advanced one hour to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) at 2AM. Suddenly, every train is behind schedule. How does the MTA deal with the situation? Do crews continue to operate on Eastern Standard Time? Supposedly, crew shifts are shortened about one hour. Is there a reduction in pay or are they paid as if the time change didn't happen? Conversely, when the clocks go back in the fall and they have to work an extra hour, are they paid one hour of overtime?

SubwayGuy Posted March 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2012 Crews are paid according to chronological hours work - has nothing to do with local time during a time change. There is a supplement schedule for every line in both divisions for Spring Forward and Leap Back, as the time change takes place at EXACTLY 2AM, all personnel are governed accordingly.
