It's essentially a commuter fleet, running on a semi-urban line, like the Triboro RX. If it were integrated into the Metrocard system, it would have a decent chance at success. I'd say the Triboro RX - regardless of whether it will run as a commuter rail, quasi-commuter rail, or pure subway line - is more beneficial than detrimental...
