I was wondering what is difference between Firefighters and Volunteer Firefighters? How does volunteer firefighter receive call for emergency? I was listening to a NPR news report telling of the experience of a volunteer fighterfighter in South Dakota, who is fighting to become eligible for health insurance. Yes, health insurance. So apparently volunteer firefighters serving across the country were previously not being offerred health insurance. However that's to change as last week, President Obama used his executive powers to mandate federal agencies to offer the same health benefits to volunteer fighterfighters as federal employees.
