Pablo M 201 Posted July 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2008 Justin Morneau of the Minnesota Twins beat Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers in the finals to be the 2008 Home Run Derby Champ. But the real show of the night was Josh Hamilton, smashing 28 homers in the first round! He beat Bobby Aberu for most home runs in a single round. Hamilton hit a total of 35 home runs. 7LineFan Posted July 15, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2008 I saw Hamilton hit homer... after homer... after homer... after homer... that was amazing, even though he didn't win.
SubwayGuy Posted July 15, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 15, 2008 And most impressive was the DISTANCE on Hamilton's home runs...off the back wall behind the bleachers? Haven't seen that since the Darryl Strawberry days.
MattTrain Posted July 15, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 15, 2008 Justin Morenau came through at the final round. If Josh Hamilton didn't have those walls blocking the home runs, he might have a ball hit the passing trains going to Utica Avenue Brooklyn and Woodlawn Bronx. Great show, hopefully the All Star game will be better. Go Yankees Go Mets!B)

Haven't seen that since the Darryl Strawberry days. Yea, that was rather impressive, especially that one that someone caught in the back row of the bleachers... - Andy
7LineFan Posted July 15, 2008 Share #7 Posted July 15, 2008 One hit off the top of one of the ads, near the frieze. You know what would have been nice? If they put the "Hit It Here" sign on the frieze instead of on the border of The Black.
