Trainspotter Posted August 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2007 Northeast Corridor delays after female struck TRENTON, N.J. — NJ Transit rail riders faced delays for about 90 minutes along part of the Northeast Corridor Thursday. Eastbound trains were running 15 to 30 minutes behind schedule between Trenton and Metropark after a train struck a woman on the tracks. The incident also slowed Amtrak service in the area. NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says it happened shortly after 6 a.m. as the train was pulling out of the yard in Morrisville, Pa. No passengers were aboard. The female was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not known. Service was on or close to schedule by 7:30 a.m., Stessel said.
R1Toasty Posted August 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2007 Um, OW! My question is whether she was an employee of trying to commit suicide or something.
sebbieprops Posted August 24, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 24, 2007 Yeah, I was wondering that myself - you know, the conditions surrounding the accident. (If it was even accidental, that is.) So far, the reporting has been very vague.
Harry Posted August 24, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2007 It definitely sounds like it was a NJT worker that was struck.
