Dj Hammers Posted November 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2016 Some more clips of the R179 test train. Many of the locations the train is seen operating on are highly unlikely to see R179s operating in revenue service. Some are unlikely to even see the cars on non-revenue moves as well.Enjoy, and please subscribe!
QM1to6Ave Posted November 22, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2016 Is it me or does the 179 have a really annoying, high pitched squeal? It seems to go on as long as the train is in motion, not just when it accelerates

If he actually put the controller in coast, you wouldn't hear the propulsion; just the rail noise, air bags, and the third rail shoes.

Would the sound be present if the controller was at a higher setting, like max power?
Fan Railer Posted November 23, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 23, 2016 The sound is your typical propulsion inverter sound, so yes.
