Around the Horn Posted October 4, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2017 These are just the somewhat shitty phone camera pics that I got yesterday. At some point, I'll go out with the better camera and get some shots... We start with the new exterior look: Each car also has a nice "Maintained at Jamaica Shops" sticker next to one of the number plates We now move on to the interior wraps: Inside each car, again near a number plate, were "Overhauled At Our Coney Island Shops" stickers Enjoy
DailyDose Posted October 4, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 4, 2017 Huh, interesting. I am really not a fan of the Cuomoified wrap - it seems a little cringey when it continues up the ceiling... wonder if this is the new direction for subway car design. The maintenance stickers are a nice new touch though, reminds me of the depot stickers on the sides of buses.
7LineFan Posted October 5, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 5, 2017 I'm OK with the racing stripes on the lead cars of each set. I'd rather a single stripe across the waist of the rest of the cars a la pre-GOH R44/46, rather than covering the entire window area. They had a chance to reintroduce a classic look and they blew it. Are they trying to make the cars look like a pediatric ward? Because that's what it feels like with those interior wraps. It was fine when the art was confined to the art cards on the inside of the destination signs, but this is too much for me.
