BM5 via Woodhaven Posted December 13, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 13, 2021 As was mentioned here earlier, 2016 New Flyer XD60 5418 got into an accident in East New York on Saturday, not too far from the Brodaway Junction complex. The bus allegedly hit a tree just south of the intersection at Fulton Street & Van Sinderen Avenue (a tree branch tossed to the side can be seen in the video), taking with it a mailbox and a walk signal. There have been no serious injuries reported as a result of this crash. The impact by taking down the signal may have also cut out all the lights at the intersection, since the lights were not working and traffic was being redirected. I am not sure whether the bus was in service or not. The bus, which typically operates in Queens (as it's based out of Baisley Park) was in Brooklyn doing work on the train shuttle bus from Broadway Junction to Canarsie. Here's some footage of the aftermath, mainly when the bus was being moved and towed away.

I love the ZFs that we have, hopefully the bus gets repaired.
