Winter Storm Watch for the Tri-State Area

The snowstorm ended around 12 Noon in NYC and eartern LI around 2pm. Central Park offically got around 8 inches while parts of Queens nearly a foot at over 11 inches. What made this storm 'dangerous' was it's high winds.

Going down to only 15 in the 5 boros while it only 5 above zero here in Hudson Valley.

 

FYI. By end of this week, temps are supposed to hit 55-60 degrees.:cool:

 

Pics would be greatly appreicated guys to post on the storm. Thanks in advance.

I measured a final 10 inches, how many did you get?

An update on PM rush hour service on the MTA network as of 4pm.

 

NYC subways and buses

 

Limited stop service is cancelled today. All buses run local.

 

No Main St Bound Express (7) service.

 

All other NYC local, express buses and subway lines running normally with slight delays systemwide due to weather.

 

 

Metro North Railroad

 

Changes for This afternoon's rush hour only due to WEATHER

For this evening's PM peak:

 

 

Hudson and Harlem Line trains will operate according to schedule.

 

Fifteen New Haven Line trains will be canceled and customers will be advised to board different trains which, in some cases, will make extra stops. Those cancellations/combinations are:

 

- The 4:02 PM train to New Canaan is canceled. Customers can take the 4:09 PM New Haven train and transfer at Stamford, arriving in New Canaan at 5:14 PM

 

- The 5:09 PM train to New Canaan is canceled. Customers can take the 5:26 PM train to New Canaan, arriving in New Canaan at 6:31 PM.

 

- The 5:14 PM train to Harrison and the 5:20 PM train to New Rochelle are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 5:20 PM and making all stops from Mount Vernon East to Harrison.

 

- The 5:23 PM train to Bridgeport and the 5:28 PM train to South Norwalk are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 5:28 PM and making all stops from Stamford to Bridgeport.

 

- The 5:33 PM train to Harrison is canceled. Customers can take the 5:35 PM local train to Stamford, making all local stops to Stamford.

 

- The 5:38 PM train to New Haven is canceled. Customers can take the 5:48 PM train to New Haven.

 

- The 5:51 PM train to Old Greenwich and the 5:54 PM train to South Norwalk are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 5:54 PM, making all stops from Harrison to South Norwalk.

 

- The 5:56 PM train to Harrison and the 5:59 PM train to New Rochelle are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 5:59 PM and making all stops from Mount Vernon East to Harrison.

 

- The 6:04 PM train to New Haven and the 6:12 PM train to Bridgeport are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 6:12 PM and making stops at Stamford, South Norwalk, then all stops to New Haven.

 

- The 6:15 PM train to Stamford and the 6:18 PM train to Harrison are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 6:18 PM and making all stops from Mount Vernon East to Stamford.

 

- The 6:29 PM train to New Haven is canceled. Customers can take the 6:42 PM train to New Haven, making all stops from Stamford to New Haven.

 

- The 6:38 PM train to Harrison is canceled. Customers can take the 6:45 PM local train to Stamford, making all local stops to Stamford.

 

- The 7:08 PM train to Stamford and the 7:14 PM train to New Haven are combined, leaving Grand Central Terminal at 7:14 PM, and making all stops from Rye to New Haven.

 

- The 7:11 PM train to Harrison is canceled. Customers can take the 7:16 PM local train to Stamford, making all local stops to Greenwich, then Stamford.

 

- The 8:04 PM train to New Haven is canceled. Customers can take the 8:07 PM train to New Haven, making all stops from Stamford to New Haven.

 

 

Please listen for announcements at stations and on trains. Also, please watch your step, especially when getting on and off trains and when walking up and down stairs.

 

Long Island Railroad

 

"Holiday Eve" extra schedule in effect on selected lines between 2-4pm. Extra early afternoon service on Pt Washington, Hungtington, Babloyn and Far Rockaway lines starting at 2pm. Normal afternoon service planned on all other lines. Passengers should allow extra time due to the weather.
