Thats what i meant, accelerate slower than the Allisons...
but now quick question...idk how the hybrid system works. all i know is that the hybrids out here in staten island can go, and I THINK, they can get to about 40mph faster than the LFS/3G/XD40.
Maybe 40 MPH as in top speed, but faster? I highly doubt that..

Well the thing is...our newer buses from like 2006-2010 are hybrids...so that's comparing them to diesels...and then our new buses from 2011-2013 we have the LFS/A with ZFs those accelerate slow...and we have the C40s, XD40s, LFS with allison, and Prevost, now XD60...these allisons have LBSS which slow them down...but without LBSS these buses can go mainly the new C40s and Prevost buses...so they have the ability but I guess with all these new traffic rules and a huge population in a big city, they need to slow the buses down, although they are capable of full speed performance.
Your only half right here buddy. The 2011 and some of the 2012 C40s have no LBSS. Prevosts don't have it and the XD60s don't have it neither.

I heard that when you push a back door on a bus...if you pushh too hard the bus brakes will lock? Is that true?
Did anyone ever experience that?
Because these two guys on a packed B1 bus...was in the stairs leaning against the back door and when we were doing about 30_35mph I was scared the bus was going to just stop completely or do somecrazy shytt.
I have on a OG HEV on the B12 a few months ago. The bus didn't even get up to speed and the next thing I know I was going forward really fast. It felt like the driver mashed on the brakes. Not fun at all....

Was she young or old? If 'it' was young, then I can probably see why she would say it. Either way I'd bet she'd be among the first to complain about fare hikes to pay for the new buses so she doesn't have to ride those old 'garbage'.
Maybe around I would say 30s - 40s. As a matter a fact your right about the second part too. She was also stating how everyone has to "keep paying and paying".

Rode the B14 this morning to school, there was this lady on the bus who said "They need to throw those buses in the garbage. Ain't nothing work" (our bus was OG 6592 and she was referring to the RTS's). A good chuckling moment..

Yeah I know about that... So they just changed to the cloth seats right? I still think it's ridiculous that they're using MCI's on local bus routes, esp. when they're ordering all of these new local buses. A complete waste of money.
You still need buses to make service though...

Word on the street is that ... Flatbush might be getting some XD40's from
Ulmer park as well. I think Ulmer park will get the s.i batch and send the younger #'s over to Flatbush if this will happen.

the thing is the engine...if it had a allison b400r then i would have a different impression on these buses
Transmission. The B400R is a transmission.

Damn why is JG getting more buses when WF only have a small order? The only thing I can think about is WF recieving those Nova atric but other than that I dont know.
Gleason still has about 15 C40LF's to be retired. I don't think WF really has anything to replace either.

the xd40 is indeed my favorite bus but i most def hate that little window in the front , why couldnt they all be the same damn size.
New Flyer probably designed it that way.

The just got R160s, I don't think that it would need an upgrade so fast. But if the got R179s, you could give those R160s to the , and give those R68As to the .
It won't need a upgrade but more cars to have enough for the SAS.
