The any farther south requires major renovation on the tracks. Chambers and Fulton are so ridiculously close....

They're really doing it to help relieve the N6 Local.

Use buses if you want to get all kinds of cancer, sure.

Water main break at 5th Avenue and 14th Street has closed the Union Square (4/5/6/L/N/Q/R) and 6th Avenue (F/L/M) stations and trains can't run into those stations, nor can the B/D run on the express tracks under 6th Avenue. PATH is also affected by this.
