  1. Didn't notice this post before, my apologies. Thanks for the link.

Well, I got the program running, but when I try to play a route, this happens...

    [screenshot]

(It's not just an error with this one, I have the Uchibo line add-on too, and it does the same thing, except instead of everything being grey everything is white.) Anyone know what the issue might be?

Try using OpenBVE rather than BVE 2/4. It's more advanced, and some routes have features that require it.

  2. What I asked you to point out was who commits the most crime in this city?  You know the answer.  Stop trying to duck and dodge it.  What peeves me with people like you who constantly cry racism is that there are two sides to this issue.   I would be more than willing to agree with you if the two groups that are targeted also weren't the two groups that commit the most crime in the city, but those are the facts and unfortunately the those who commit no crimes have to be mixed in with the ones that do.  Instead of yelling racism, you should be out advocating that those two groups get their house in order and become more productive members of society... You know, go get a job instead of robbing and stealing for a change and hanging out on the corner.  What's worse is most of the crime that the two groups commit is against one another.  Where is your outrage on that?  <_< *Crickets*

This sounds like similar advice that Bill Cosby and Obama gave and they were but ridiculed... What a "surprise".

If the X29 comes back it will probably use Prevosts since that bus ran out of Ulmer Park back in the day.

Whites make up 44% of this city's population, according to Census data. You honestly expect me to believe that the MINORITY of the population is committing the most crime? Give me a break. As for people on welfare, according to the Department of Human Services, both black and white recipients hover around 30%. So, no, blacks aren't the only ones "sitting in their houses". Get YOUR facts straight.

Culver, your crusade is noble, but these racist a**holes never see themselves for what they are.

    Hope to see people there!

  4. To be frank, why not just combine the S42 and S46? The S42 could be a rush hour only branch of the S46 called the S46A or something of the like. Considering that the S52 already runs through there, I see little opposition from residents... then again, the S46 does pass through a more middle-class part of SI, so there still may be trouble.

  5. The one thing I would do with the B20 is switch it and the B83 (so the B20 uses Van Siclen and B83 uses Penn.)

We have another B38 to Metro debacle here. Sure, GMF isn't the best terminal, and honestly only the B13 should be entering there; it requires no more service, but where else would you send them? If you're suggesting the (3) station, then I wouldn't do that without a complete overhaul or outright elimination of the B84...

  6. See, my problem is, and I know I say too much good sh*t about Clever Devices, that unlike Clever's system these don't give you a time estimate. Yes, the Clever Devices/Nextbus/other vendors' method of giving you a time estimate can be inaccurate especially in urban settings (but has improved, always near on the dot in NJ even in JC/Newark), but I still think that displaying both the amount of stops away the bus is and an ETA would be great on these clocks to give people an estimate as to when the bus will actually show, not just where it is. Again, even though the times are often inaccurate, it seems that the vendors have improved on their time estimations and the TA would probably be able to do the same, the ETAs would probably be pretty accurate in most of the outer boroughs anyway even if they had problems in say Manhattan. To the TA's credit, they put a ton of effort and custom manufacturing into these, even though they're pretty damn bulky including the equipment box. Clever's trial run countdown clocks on the M34 not only had no bulky box but were built into the Cemusa bus shelter, above where the ad usually is, something I definitely would've liked to see come back. But nonetheless good effort on the TA's part, at least we got the countdown clocks.

I agree that this is long overdue, but the bitching about the limitations of the system aren't. Clever Devices is expensive, the MTA is doing what they can. Be happy that we're at least getting the clocks.

  7. And I live near the route. Anyways what could be done is extend the B38 drop off stop on Onderdonk so it streches out the whole block between Catalpa Avenue and Cornelia Street. That would be enough space to handle 5 buses.

I've used the B13 plenty of times. It was a quick ride each time as it doesn't use streets that get backed up despite the routing it has.

Live near ≠ use often. And good luck taking away parking.

What day did you use the B13??

  8. -Like you know what the f**k you're talking about. Quit calling the kettle black..... Cutting back a route for the sake of reducing mileage is retarded. It only makes sense if either the route is carrying air on that portion or if the route is duplicative while having separate ridership bases (like the Q34). Essentially what you're doing is like cutting back the Q39 to the (M) station.

-Unlike cutting back the B57 to Metropolitan Avenue, you have the B57, Q54, and the Catalpa branch of the B38 nearby that people could use instead

-No need to find other places for B38s to terminate. It would be a waste.

There is a need to find other places for B38's to terminate. Given the unreliability of the route, one terminal CANNOT handle it. I use this route often. You should probably listen to me.

  9. Send all B38's to Catalpa.....

That's just not going to work period. That terminal is already tight, but I think we've already established that.

    1. This was what I would have done: I would send all B38s to Catalpa (scratch that short turn at Wyckoff Hospital I proposed earlier). At Catalpa, to prevent problems with lack of space for buses to layover, the layover at Onderdonk/Catalpa (the last drop off stop) would be eliminated. If buses come in buses, the second bus would layover while the first one after dropping off remaining passengers would then continue towards Downtown Brooklyn (it would be just like how it's done with the Q39 at it's terminus in Ridgewood. Q39s don't layover unless if there is bunching and the second bus lays over while the first one heads straight back to LIC).

(In bold, before you talk shit, write properly.)

This wouldn't alleviate anything, if buses come in bunches like they always do on that route then all that will cause is traffic issues. Buses don't come in bunches of 2 on the B38, mind you... more like 4-5, so that wouldn't work at all.

  10. 1. I just wanted to get rid of that useless branch and call it a day

    2. You can try to be funny all you want..... And the B57s were only a few feet away so anyone could see inside them plus there was a long line at 61 Street/Flushing Avenue.

    1. I have no qualms with that, but what would you do instead? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    2. Who was trying to be funny? And you didn't mention either of those things in your first post, so bah. Calm down, this is why people call you a troll when you get pissed at people for no reason.

  11. Considering that I use the B38 often, I'll pitch my two cents.

I won't deny that Metropolitan isn't the best terminal, it is the middle of nowhere, but still no one has proposed another suitable one. Frankly, I think Metropolitan is the best terminal you're going to get in that area, and no extensions, please. The B38 is unreliable as it is, any extensions would make it worse.

    1. During the AM rush hours the B57 gets packed over there. And I know because when I rose on Q39s past Flushing Avenue/61 Street, there were crowded B57s. During non rush is when they are empty but regardless cutting it back is stupid. The B38 Metro branch at least ha alternatives to it and it never gets any usage, even during AM rush.

    2. Don't even start that retarded shit again. Grow the f**k up.

    1. Hoo boy... you looked from a Q39, into a B57 (so there could have been distance) and this is decisive proof that buses get crowded past Metro? The windows are tinted, and plus, I've been tricked into thinking buses were empty/crowded based on the way people were standing. You could have simply been mistaken.

  12. Probably asking for a specific source.  Why are everyone here so quick to conclusion...this is why I think the up/down vote system is retarded and people take it the wrong way.

My main issue was that he created a new thread for such a simple question, but since it got moved I'll reverse my downvote.  (Metaphorically, since you can't actually do it...)

  13. I am not 2 faced I just am grateful for confirmation. I will admit I come off as angry I am not. I do realize that somethings aren't that easy I never said I fully mastered the 5 boroughs did I. I create these ideas on purpose for feedback no need for attacks. I just say it as it is your attitude is quite awful.

Priority is based on how bad a gap is that's the language I use in my proposals. I simply identify or confirm faults and based on many factors determine how bad or easy it is to fix. I have a few scales I set some High others medium or medium/low based on importance.

On a side note work on that attitude of yours you come off very rude which makes you seem immature.

I misled you into thinking I suggested a whole new route. I will survey the area better. You do need to pay attention better your quite easy to trick.

No, you're two faced by proposing routes that travel through all four borouhgs and then laugh at an extra Bronx-Queens route.

The only inmature person is you.

Why are you trying to trick people???? How does that help your cause?

    ...You're an idiot.

  14. The B100's are full, and you still can't combine MTAB and NYCT routes yet, and the B2/100 serve different areas of Midwood and go to different places in the eastern section.

How different are the areas? The routes are literally a block apart, and I doubt the MTAB/NYCT thing would be such an issue, B/O's can be moved around.

This plan is pretty flexible, you could have the B2 run to Bay Ridge, the B100 run to Coney Island and the B31 could be left as a feeder.

  15. My whole idea for this issue was:

    1. Combine the B2 and B100. While each route does have it's own ridership base, they also have some redundancy, and the money saved by doing this could contribute to the extensions.

    2. Truncate the B82 to Kings Highway/CI Avenue. This improves reliability on the route and again, money can be shifted to the route replacing it.

    3. Extend the combined B2/B100 route (B30) via the western portion of the B82 to Coney Island. Extend the B31 via 65th Street/Avenue P to Bay Ridge. Really, the B30/B31 could be switched as to which route goes where on the western end, but I feel it's stronger this way.
