  1. Yes, Astoria and Williamsburg. How about instead of starting a new B32 route, the Q103 could just be extended to Williamsburg by making a left on Borden Avenue where Vernon Boulevard ends and then a right on 11 Street where it would continue to Williamsburg along the B32's planned routing. And also add weekend service and straighten out the Q103 slightly by eliminating that turnoff on 41 Avenue and Vernon Boulevard where it then turns onto 21 Street then 40 Avenue and back on Vernon. Seriously that little loop the Q103 makes there is unnecessary and shouldn't exist in the first place. I know what it's for which is to transfer to Q66, Q69 and Q100 limited on 21 Street but it's not like it's gonna kill people to walk that distance from Vernon. Plus the Q103 is very short so it is logical to extend it.

I mentioned this before, and not even because of the routes length but because of ridership as well... the Q103 is starving for some sort of decent ridership and an extension like that could possibly help strengthen the route.

  2. Hey guys, we're planning a multiplayer run on Teamspeak tonight, most likely starting between 8 PM and 8:30 PM.

We'll be starting with an IRT run first and then a B-Division run. Please have the (2), (A), (B), (D), (N), and (Q) lines available and some NYCTA trains if you plan to participate. These routes/trains can be downloaded from BVEStation or OpenBVEConnection, and OpenBVE itself can be downloaded here: LINK

Teamspeak can be downloaded here, and here is the server address:

    t316.darkstarllc.com:10396

Hope to see many people there.

  3. OpenBVE has come an unbelievable way, I've gotta hand it to all of you guys. From even just a year or two ago, it's a world of difference. I was running the R68 along the new N line and the level of detail is simply incredible. Might beat MSTS at this point, honestly. Looking forward to that R38 as well, cab looks beautiful. Any other downloads that you guys personally recommend? I've done most of the ones on BVEStation along with a bunch of London Underground routes.

You may want to check out the trains on OpenBVEConnection as well:

And for those still wanting to join our Teamspeak NYCTA simulation, the address has changed.

  4. I admit my best plans are not NYC based but that is a theoretical service upgrade for Q67 riders as B13 is more frequent to speed up travel time these B13s skip 55th ave direct to LIC via borden ave and LIE. While gates ave gains the more frequent B52 and wyckoff hospital gets the more frequent Q55 B13 riders seeking wyckoff would switch to Q55 which would take a more direct travel path to the hospital while those to gates ave would just use extended B52s this B13 stays on fresh pond road. I actually have more detail in the other proposals but this is just a NYC forum very few here are that good with NJ at all.

You do realize the B13 is already long and has nothing in hell to do with the Q67... wtf would you accomplish by combining them?

    Also, speak English.

  5. I decided I'd copy/paste the description of this one rather than just have you guys click...

"In 1939, the City of New York purchased a share of the former Bay Ridge Branch of the Long Island Railroad. Between 1940 and 1945, the city worked to convert the section purchased between Fresh Pond Road and the 60th Street Yard to subway standards and connected it to the unbuild Winfield Spur. In 1947, service began between Roosevelt Avenue and East New York under the designation "X". Until 1988, the "X" used specially branded consists of R10's, and later R42's. The line was assigned R68's in 1988, where they have remained since. These assigned cars feature special strip-map cards of the line. Plans for CBTC conversion are being made."

    Here's the (X) line:

  6. I know many of you who read this thread probably play OpenBVE (duh) but have you ever wanted to do a realistic run with others?

Using the voice program known as Teamspeak, we do runs using the NYCTA routes on BVEStation and OpenBVEConnection

We do runs later at night, but we try to simulate the runs as accuratley as possible. Join the server for fun and good conversation!

Download Teamspeak, and follow the following instructions:

Go to "Connect", and enter the following adress:

    ts10.bargainvoice.com:7118

    On mobile devices:

    Adress: ts10.bargainvoice.com

    Port: 7118

  7. The official reason why 5 service is extended is due to work at 149 St-Grand Concourse. Late night riders on the duece won't have to backtrack from 135 St/Lenox Av to get to 149 St. However, with both the lower 7th Avenue and Broadway lines out of commission this weekend, the added service on Lexington Ave will be useful.

Why would they eliminate both lines this weekend... it's going to be hell on 6th and 8th Avenues for tomorrow...

  8. Dealt with some real fine Port Authority cops today at Newark Airport. Got to take a trip to their little precinct too, got detained for 3+ hours for committing no crime because I was a "minor alone at the airport". f**k them.

Give them them hell, make sure they lose their damn jobs, or at least get extensively retrained.

  9. Due to a track fire that badly damaged the tunnels and interlocking plant, Forest Hills-71 Av station is out of service for trains. Only run-thrus are allowed to/from the Jamaica Yard.

    Reroute accordingly--affects (E)(F)(M)(R)

    -A

(E): No service between Jamaica Center and Roosevelt Avenue.

(F): No service between Kew Gardens and 21st Street-Queensbridge.

(M): No service north of Essex Street.

(R): No service between Queensboro Plaza and Forest Hills.

Free shuttle buses operate between 21st Street, Queensboro Plaza, Queens Plaza, and Court Square.

  10. I've recently been having a problem with the R32s. The rollsign and flipdot moves when I use the operation controls (i.e. q a z < > ?) rather that the usual 2,8,9, and 0. Does anyone know what causes this glitch and how I can fix it?

    -Nick

If you're on windows, this is because of the native OpenBVE ATS plugin activating instead of the rollsign plugin.

Open the train.dat file on your R32 folder, and replace the #Device section with this:

    #DEVICE

    1              ; Ats

    0              ; Atc

    0              ; Eb

    0              ; ConstSpeed

    0              ; HoldBrake

    -1             ; ReAdhesionDevice

    0              ; Reserved (not used)

    0              ; PassAlarm

    2              ; DoorOpenMode

    2              ; DoorCloseMode

  11. Any particular reason you have it ending by Cross Bay/Pitkin (instead of Rockaway Blvd)?

In any case, I'm not sure if another Ozone Park-Jamaica route is needed. I mean, on the western end, you have the Q41 & Q112, and on the eastern end, you have the north-south routes (Q9, Q40, Q6, etc) to go to Jamaica. That was part of the reason the Q89 failed as well: There were other, more direct routes to Jamaica, and without a quick connection to the subway the number of riders using it within Linden Blvd wasn't enough to sustain it (of course, those 90 minute headways didn't help either). Of course, with this new route, it would connect to the (A) train.

I think its eastern terminal should either be St. Albans Hospital, or Rochdale Village.

The intersection is too complicated and that terminal is easier.

Personally, it would make no sense to end it before Jamaica, because not everyone wants the slower connection that is the (A). Plus, it helps supplement Merrick Blvd service.

  12. Then why bother telling me to save it for someone who cares, if you don't care....

And don't ask me about the B14 if you don't care about "opinionated BS"..... You want hard stats, do the legwork yourself.

    Lol... Thank you.

    1) Hmm... off-top, I didn't recognize any of your ideas in this update that I didn't previously remember commenting on

(In other words, nothing immediately stood out... I remember most of your brooklyn ideas)

Point out the ones that you recently made a change to & I'll comment on them....

    2) That's a good point.... That EB stop on the B8 is a rather popular stop & I have most definitely noticed more folks waiting for B8 than B7's... This includes school-kids that attend schools in that area....

    3) Exactly... The people that do utilize the B7 on the portion b/w say church & flatbush (not inclusive) aren't riding up to the J like that.... If anything, more of those folks ride in the other direction.....

The B30/B31 plan was changed, simply because I felt the old plan (which had both serving Kings Highway) was too expensive and too complicated, and it was simpler to have one serve Avenue P and the other serve Kings Highway.

The B71 plan is new to the mix, so I was wondering what people thought about that one...

too much distance before getting to the (J) and broadway jcy gives em the (A) & (J) & (L) plus going to broadway jct is quicker than hasley street. Try again. @ threxx really does the B46/47 get to the B44 in 10 mins? B7 is meant to be a quick and direct route not making a ton of stops all over the place. Do tell how the B8 gets me to B49& 44 & other areas quickly? I f you want more use on the B7 upgeade it's service levels so people stop walking to B46 & 47. Do you realize how much slower B47 to B82 is?

    Are you retarded?

Upgrading the service levels would be a waste of money. The B7 doesn't GO where people want to go, so why would they use is if it was more frequent???? Think about what you're saying for one minute. And what does this have to do with the B14, or B15?? I never MENTIONED those routes, but yet you're now bringing up the B14, B44, B49, just so we can get off the topic that you have nothing good planned for Brooklyn bus service.

    Stop. Please.

  13. Quick question  has there ever been a bus or subway line that was directly cut/eliminated just for the sake of being a sacrificial lamb for some new service etc

I know routes have been combined in this way, but none really sacrificed like that...

    B47 (OLD) and B62 (OLD) == B43

    B5 and B50 == B82

    B40 and B78 == B47
