  1. For the split of the Bx9, 19 and 36, I wanted to shorten those routes to lessen delays.

    My replies to yours:

    Bx1/2: I did this to lessen overall service -- encouraging Grand Concourse riders to use the (D). The frequencies on the combined routes often get people there to use the bus over the train.

    Bx5: eliminates redundancy on that portion of Castle Hill

    Bx7A: would have the same schedule as the current Bx20, but starts earlier during the PM rush to serve students at Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy

    Bx7/7A: I removed it from Broadway between 231st and 225th to avoid the traffic and for the routes to serve Target. Besides, this reroute enables a direct connection to the (1) at 231st (southbound riders currently have to walk about 3 blocks from the Corlear Av stop).

    Bx22: I have the new Bx20 run to Lehman instead of the Bx22 to lessen delays on the latter

    Bx41: since it would become SBS, I have it going to Mott Haven for the (6) and Bx33.

    Bx46: Longwood Avenue is a pretty good corridor, but most get to Longwood by subway, not bus. As for Barretto Point Park, I did the Bx46 in this fashion because the Bx46 does not serve the residential portion of Hunts Point (i.e. Seneca and Lafayette Avs, by Hunts Point Av).

    Bx1/2: Don't mess with something that isn't broken. Why do people need to use the (D)? Enough with shoving people onto subways...

    Bx5: I don't see how that short segment is so redundant...

    Bx7/A: Like Q23 said, the MTA is trying to eliminate extra letter designations, so you might as well leave the Bx20 as it is.

    Again, this whole Bx19/New Bx20/Bx22 restructuring... it's just unnecessary.

    Bx41: I can see this one, since it will be SBS it would provide a good connection through the central Bronx.

    Bx46: Let's wait and see with this one, the route was just created.

  2. I'll predict my trip home tonight, tomorrow and for the following week after...

    Express Bus: BxM1 or BxM2 -> home.

    Express Bus: BxM1 or BxM2 -> home.

    Express Bus: BxM1, BxM2 or BxM18

    MetroNorth -> Hudson Rail Link -> home.

    Well you get the idea...  :lol:

    As to which one is faster, that's a toss up...

    My options...

    (A) --> (G)

    B38

    B54

    Yeah... essentially one seat rides.

  3. 1. Yeah well they're an eyesore for the community as well.  If they're only using one bus, get a hybrid for crying out loud.

    2. LMAO... Please let someone from UP read this and make this kid's dream come true...  :lol:

    1. There's a reason they used retired buses. What's the point of taking a good hybrid out of service for the sake of a MetroCard bus that doesn't even run every day?

    2. LOL... I like 9444 from GA but I don't run around wishing for it to show up...

  4. Words cannot explain how amazing 7057 sounds holy shyt! That is the best sounding 3G in this city...you must hear how it sounds on the outside..then once you get on it on the inside you will go crazy.

    1. It's a bus.

    2. It's a 3G for god's sake, it can't be that good...

  5. I propose an extension of the J/Z lines from it's current terminal in Jamaica Parsons/Archer to Queens Village. It will make stops at these locations:

    Merrick Blvd-168 Street, 179th Street, Woodhull-Hollis Avenues, Francis Lewis Blvd, Hempstead Avenue, and Springfield Blvd.

    I agree with this, but I have a couple questions:

    Would it continue along Jamaica Avenue?

    Would skip-stop service continue to Springfield Blvd?

  6. The Q103 won't get any more ridership the way it is. It serves nothing of intrest, completely avoids Court Square, and has a host of other problems. This is why I suggested combining it with the Williamsburg-LIC route, and maybe extend it around Ditmars Blvd so there is a reliable connection between two neighborhoods that need a reliable connection.

  7. My two cents, if you're going to give the BM1-3 sunday service, you need to do all of them. All three have around the same weekend ridership, so it's not like one is so much stronger than the other. QJ can't be getting his data from the actual statistics or he'd know this for a fact...

  8. Did what I say fly completely over your head? The (7) is so frequent that most of the time there are zero waits at all the transfers are less than 1 min apart and the wait is non existent most times there are no waits. Q19 however will not get so long and connects vernon blvd to upper manhattan via M60 connection at astoria. Plus B62 is a very short walk from queensboro one can say extend this B32 or 62 to link with the (N). But then again with the waits for buses being stupid long even 3 subway lines can be faster which is sad but true. They are growing BUT are they willing to change their travel that is the question.

    Let's not get riled up over nothing here...

    Like checkmate said, it's still a transfer. And, the (G) is NOT that frequent, and the transfer between it and the (7) is a long passageway. People would flock to having a one-seat ride, so there definitely is demand.

  9. I'll be getting to yours soon, Threxx. Meanwhile, I created a fantasy idea borrowing one of your fantasy routes that you requested me to map out from another thread last year: the Q51 from Forest Hills to Broadway Junction.

    Unlike the MTA, current NICE routes use a lowercase letter to indicate the county (or company, for NICE is lowercase). Here, I decided to use the format of the typical NICE routes, using separate keyframes for each piece of information.

    That is pretty NICE! (half intended) That 'q' is a bit sketchy though. It probably wouldn't fly with normal NY'ers. :lol:
