  1. Maybe, but I don't think Ledger was the lead in another comic book movie. Afleck was bad in daredevil, I'm not too convinced about being Batman. Clooney instantly comes to mind as a poorly done version.

I never saw Daredevil myself, so I can't comment on that, but Batman =/= Daredevil. Let's wait and see...

Funny thing, my biggest issue is that he doesn't fit my vision in my head of Bruce Wayne (like George Clooney)... but that's just me. Personally, the acting matters. If I can watch that movie and forget that Ben Affleck is in that suit and just see Batman, then he did a good job.

  2. Ben 'asshat' as the new Batman? are they on crack? Terrible idea. I don't care how many years ago daredevil was, he should not be allowed near superhero films. Find someone else to play him even if he's an unknown. Maybe Jim Cavezel from person of interest?

I know you've probably heard this already, but we should reserve criticism until we see some media. People were upset about Heath Ledger, and look where that went.

  3. I've lost all faith in the Mega Man fanbase. Capcom is to blame for the drought in releases, but it's also because of the whiny, undeceive fanbase that just makes them afraid to try anything new. The franchise won't come back until this retro (*coughMegaMan2cough*) worship stops and we can actually move forward.

My very random thought for the day.

  4. No it wouldn't. B15 and B35 aren't mostly even close to Linden Boulevard. B35 only crosses Linden Boulevard on Church Avenue and B15 only operates on it est of Fountain Avenue so that didn't make sense. Also a Linden Boulevard route should be SBS and go to Downtown Brooklyn although I haven't decided on an eastern end.

Let me make this simple. Linden Blvd is essentially a small highway for Central Brooklyn. There is no NEED for a freaking route, especially one all the way from Downtown Brooklyn. And yes, it would be redundant, because if you haven't noticed, Linden Blvd is a block away from Church Avenue.

    Quit with the wet dreams.

So? Are the B43, B44 and B48 redundant to each other since they are only a block away from each other? Also the B43 and B48 both start at Prospect Park. Also all 3 routes are doing well too.

This is a moot point, because the B43 and B44 serve two completely different ridership bases, and the B48 isn't doing that well to begin with, so you are really grasping at straws here.

If you don't know what the f**k your talking about, don't make proposals for the area. Plain and simple.

  5. I would like to announce the relaunch of the OpenBVE Connection's OMSI simulation, with our inaugural run on the Daytonford County map occurring tonight. We are planning to run the airport routes on the map.

To participate in the run, you will need the Daytonford County map and all it's dependencies, Teamspeak, and a working copy of OMSI: The Bus Simulator.

  6. Two proposals. One is to straighten the B14 to run down Sutter Avenue's full length and reroute in to Rockaway Boulevard  (A) since I learned few people use it to the Postal Facility. Also the straightening is to make the route more reliable as it makes lots of unnecessary turns. Also I revised my proposal about the B20 and B83. Instead of having the B83 replacing the B20, the only change made to it would be taking it off Van Siclen Avenue. B20 would also be truncated to Myrtle Avenue/Decatur Street as no one uses it to Forest Avenue and be rerouted onto Van Siclen Avenue instead of having the B83 run down there.

    B14:

Have you ever been to Pitkin Avenue. NO. So don't make a proposal for it!

    B20/B83:

While I don't use the B20/B83 often enough to have a credible opinion on it, this makes sense to me, as it would increase coverage of Penn Avenue without losing service anywhere it needs it.

  7. combining the q23 and the q29

    https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=218345366120084192601.0004e36b33af6b6ed8bf6

since everyone is enamored with the q29 and the q33 or the q32 and q33 i propose an alternative combining the q23 and the q29 bus routes which would be renamed the Q23. purpose of combining the q23 with the q29 is to give people a connection to middle village without having to touch manhattan and give service to roosevelt ave from 83rd to 108th street

The Q23 is too unreliable to be combined with anything. Seriously, on a route that short it's appalling but they can have up to 5 buses bunching...

  8. Do you really think I just pick out routes because that would be a stupid thing to do. Eliminating the Q21 would actually help increase ridership on the Q11, Q52/53 and the Q41. It doesn't matter how busy the Woodhaven/Cross Bay corridor is. The Q21 is now useless ever since the Q52 was started. So if the Q21 got eliminated no one would care.

I do, but that's another conversation...

The point is, don't make proposals about routes/areas you don't know at least decently.

  9. Sometimes I do walk down Woodhaven Boulevard and see a Q21 and there are few enough passengers to discontinue it. Again have them use the Q52/53 which share the Q21's routing and make limited stops.

The operative words here are sometimes and walk down... You don't actually ride the route, so who are you to say to discontinue it?

  10. Since I live on the Eliot Branch, Most People go to Elnhurst or the areas near the Rego Park center of those that stay on the bus, a good portion transferring to te Q38 5 out of 12 transferring to the Q38. No one really takes the Q38 to Ridgewood, that's why I proposed the Eliot branch of the Q38 merged with the Q88 (and there the Q88 would be a split, and can layover and turn within Fresh Pond Depot on that end.

The problem with the Q88 idea is that the Q88 is already a long route. IMO, if the branches are split they should be independent routes.

  11. B44 is due to get SBS so it is unnecessary to extend the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line down Nostrand Avenue. It would only duplicate the B44 SBS. Just send it to Kings Plaza. A lot of people pack thenselves on the B41 so it would provide an alternative and the buses would be less crowded. Also (3) should be sent to Gateway if any extension is made to it. Train service is not needed down Utica Avenue, use B46.

You've obviously never used the B46 if you think it's adequate...

  12. B6 uses different routing and it's not as much of an extension. Also I dropped the proposal to send it to JFK. It would run between Coney Island and the New Lots Avenue (3) Station. I think this thread could be locked now.

It doesn't matter if it uses a different routing, redundancy is redundancy... There are already four routes going to Stillwell, and the B64 is somewhat redundant to the B82 in of itself, but that's another discussion.

  13. What makes you think that just because a route is longer that it will carry more passengers?  You have to look at what the route does for the people living in the neighborhoods it would serve and I don't see 16th Avenue and Cortelyou as major ridership generators.

Exactly, this is why I chose to split the route rather than a through route. The B23 was an aging route that had low ridership for a few reasons, and routing was one, but independently Cortelyou and 16th are good ridership generators. Together... not so much.

Yeah but who is supposed to be riding the route? That's what I'd like to know.

Industrial workers and residents in Canarsie, current riders of the B8 who want a more direct connection to Kensington and other points west, and former riders of the B23, as well as East New York residents.

  14. It's a great idea but I'd rather would have the B84 run to Borough Park at New Utrecht Avenue and 62 Street down via 16 Avenue because then it would be able to completely replace the B23 and connect with the  (D) train. Also I'd straighten the B8 to operate along Avenue D and Ditmas Avenue while this extended B84 runs along Foster Avenue and won't run on Avenue D because it doesn't need to supplement the B8 on the same street.

This was your revised proposal done by me:

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=214089513480814599261.0004e1699ea0946c5a817

Too long. Splitting the B23 between the B67/69 and the B84 works well because it makes neither route too long.

It ends in a very weird place in Kensington.  What purpose is it supposed to serve other than replacing ghe B23??

Seems like a long route.  What exactly is supposed to be the generator in terms of riders? I don't see that much ridership along 16th Avenue or Cortelyou Rd...

I don't find it weird... it connects to the (F), (G), and B35 at that intersection, and it fills a huge gap in service in Canarsie along Foster Avenue. It's still better than the current B84. I wouldn't plan it as a very frequent route by any means, and it has a few ridership generators at Gateway Mall and the Canarsie Market.

  15. I'm sure these kinds of things have been proposed time over, but I've modified an old proposal of mine.

    http://goo.gl/maps/jGkDB

This will modify the coming B84 route to run to Kensington. It would replace the Cortelyou Rd section of the B23, with the B67 and B69 replacing the other half. In East New York, it would supplement the B6 and B20 and connect these neighborhoods to the Canarsie Market and Brooklyn Terminal Market. (This is why it makes the odd turn @ Avenue D & Remsen). It would also help the B8 along Avenue D and provide east-west coverage along Foster Avenue.
