Hey everyone! Has there been a update on a class this month? Has anyone got an email to go for the drug test then the next step. I heard there calling from 9604 are they mixing them into a class?

    thanks

I was emailed pre-employment packet about 3 weeks ago followed up last week to find out  my status. I'm still waiting for a response, and yes it appears that they are mixing both 7612 and 9604 together since their at the end of 7612. No update on a class though.

They still are, especially since this particular list does not expire until October of 2022. If you look at the March 19th Bus Operator Certification, which you can do by clicking here and typing "Bus Operator" into the search box, followed by pressing "enter" on your keyboard, you will see that this Certification consists of people from all three examinations (4600, 7612 and 9604).

However, if you want to be considered for this position off of this list, especially since they are starting to canvass names off of the 9604 list, you have to restore your name back to the (Civil Service) list. To do, follow the instructions in the green announcement box located at the top of this particular webpage which I just updated.

    Good luck!!

    @+Young+Thanks man..

I hate to admit this, however if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box of the Civil Service List Certification webpage, which can be viewed by clicking here, you will see that they already started calling people off of the next list, Exam #9604, since, according to the March 19th Certification, which expired a week ago, April 19th, the list numbers for this particular examination off of Exam #9604 "jumped" from 9 to 20, to 46, to 56, to 61, to 67, to 104, to 121, etc. In addition, the "consecutive" list numbers off of Exam #9604 don't start until the person whose list number is 200.

Therefore, although this is a public forum, I have a few questions for you:

-Have you called DCAS (212-669-1357, Option #2, enter your Social Security Number, and follow the prompts) to see where you stand on the list?

-Have you considered e-mailing DCAS (certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov) to see where you stand on the list?

-Instead of typing "Bus Operator" of the search box of the Civil Service List Certification webpage, have you considered typing in your last name to figure out when you might have been called for this position in the past?

Finally, welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you on board!

    Good luck!

Does that mean their no longer calling from exam 7612?

Have you tried reaching out to the "higher ups," whose contact information can be viewed here?

    Good luck!!

@+Young+I will definitely reach out to them today. I have a friend that didn't make the last recertification list but he received a canvass letter on Thursday. I find it kind of odd since his list number is higher than mine. Also I did get a response from the gentlemen that's handling the list he said "I'll look into it and be in touch". I don't find that to be to comforting.  Anyway thanks for the info.

I did, I received an automated call and an email this past Thursday and Friday.  I submitted the packet, now I'm just waiting to hear back.

Good luck, had to email them to find out why I didn't receive a call. Not sure what happened since I was recertified to the list on 3/19. Smh!!

I received the same email and was told by the certification unit that my list number was already restored back in January 2021, when I informed St. Jean he told me to do it again so that I come up on the list again. I then sent another email asking to restore my number despite it having been done back in January-waiting to hear back.

Hey, did you recently receive a canvass/employment package?

Hey everyone, any update on a new classes coming up. I know there was class on the 14th of February. Has anyone got emails to start the pre-empolyment?

    Thanks

Hi were you sent an email to have your name restored to the list? I know the list was recertified recently and people were told to contact DCAS to have their names restored to the list for upcoming classes.

    Thank you.

Also i have a pending ticket with a court date for an improper left turn but i have footage from dash cam showing it wasn’t illegal. I don’t mind pleading guilty if it helps make the hiring process faster, but this ticket is associated with 2 points and i already have 6 i think anymore and I’m in trouble. Not sure what to do.

Side note: i also have my defensive driving course which removes 4 points from my license but when i sign in to my dmv it still shows all 6.

Hope it all works out for you, but as far as the defensive driving course If I remember correctly its only for insurance purposes not sure with MTA though. Also If the 6 points are 3 or more years you should be good, if not you might want to consider letting the points mature a bit. Good luck!

With the fact that you received this e-mail message on March 17th (Wednesday), I find this very interesting. The reason why is because, if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box of this webpage, as of today, March 19th (Friday), the agency requested 4,000 names on March 15th (Monday) to fill 300 vacancies. Therefore, @MTA MAC and @Ljay, are your names on this new certification? The fastest way to check is to type your last name into the search box instead of "Bus Operator."

If not, then this is another way of how the Human Resources Personnel of NYC Transit work for the "City," in which they "don't work too hard" on a regular basis. If you're unsure of what I'm talking about, I would encourage you to read this and this post.

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the update @Young, I went to the webpage and my name still appears on the list. In addition, I also sent an email to have my name restored as was suggested by 180 Livingston. As of this post I have yet to get a response saying my name was restored. I'm aware that they don't move as fast as I would like lol, so hopefully I'll get a response soon saying whether restoring my name was necessary or not. It look like I'll have to do the paperwork, medical and drug test over again smh. I'll keep you guys posted.

  11. Hi, did anyone receive an email from 180 Livingston requesting they restore their name back to the list? I was last down their Feb 9th for final processing however, I was not put into the next class which if I remember correctly was Feb 14th nor the class that started Feb 28th. Now I received an email today with this message :

NYC Transit is expecting approvals to fill new bus operator vacancies in the next two months.

Please contact the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) to restore your name to the list.

Please send an email to certificationunit@dcas.nyc.gov and provide them with

your full name, address, phone number, email, exam and list number so they may put your name back on the list.

Please do this as soon as possible.

    Thank you,

    Ronald Saint Jean

I emailed him back and he said this is what needs to be done. No arguments from me!! Anyone else get this email?

Yay , qualified on Day 7 , line training tomorrow . There was a lot to learn , and at times overwhelming not “getting it right” .. but no one is perfect . The camaraderie displayed and shared with me made me want this even more , I’m very happy .. and thanks to everyone who posted valuable info in regards to this position and process.

Congrats on your day 7 qualification. Good luck on the road. Hope there's another class soon.

  13. Went to 180 Livingston this morning did the medical and passed. Filled out more paperwork, only to find out I wouldn't be in the Feb 14th class, it more than likely filled up. Had to do a second urine test the same day. Now waiting for another email for the Feb 28th class

    Hi

Did they tell you that the class for Feb 28th is 100% ready and scheduled to start?

    Which day is your medical?

    thanks

Well no it wasn't said as if it were written in stone. Things with transit are always subject to change based on agency needs.
