  1. Again, I wanna thank @Young for the suggestions he gave on how to get my name restore to a few list such as 7300. Out of all of the people I tried contacting I was only successful with getting assistance from the office of Vice President of Human Resources (Patricia Lodge) and Ms. Emma Marie Rivera. I read in an earlier post that someone received a PE letter with a list number in the 3000 range. So I'm confused, this is what  I received in an email yesterday from Ms. Rivera:

(For the MTB Bus Operator, exam 7300, we have not reached your list number. If and when the hiring dept have approval and class date, we will be reaching out to the candidates).

My list #7xx, I hoping that she was not just giving me the "company answer". On a positive note she did CC other individuals responsible for this list. Hopefully they'll catch the error if there was one. At any rate, I am going to email the other individuals also to make sure I'm not forgotten.

Whichever list you get called from first, I would take advantage of it regardless. In my opinion the TA position is better, however if you're initially successful as a Bus Operator for MTA Bus Company, the transition from Bus Company to TA should be fairly smooth.

There are several people I would try to contact via e-mail and phone:

First, I would reach out to Ms. Patricia A. Lodge, the Vice President of Human Resources (her contact information is below).

Second, I would reach out to Ms. Emma Marie Rivera, the manager of Employment Operations, whose contact information can be found here.

Third, I would try reaching out to Ms. Marisol Quinones-Gomez, the Senior Director of Employment Operations at marisol.quinones-gomez@nyct.com.

If all of this fails, for whatever reason, I would encourage you to call the Office of the President at 646-252-5800 and take it from there.

As far as the "phone problems" are concerned, I would encourage you to read what another member had to go through with the same Human Resources Office by clicking here.

Good luck getting through to them!!

Thanks, I hope I get a response from somebody.

  3. Does anyone know of a good way to restore one's name to the list for this #7300 exam. I know things are difficult due to COVID. If someone has an email they used to get back on the list that worked I would appreciate it. I tried calling (347) 643-8229/30 and was unsuccessful. Not sure if their having phone problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

When they do run your New York State abstract, they will run your "Standard driving record." If you wish to obtain a copy of this yourself, click here and click on the "MyDMV" link. If you live either in New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania, you will need to bring your own abstract which must be less than 30 days old.

The MTA, whether it is the folks at Livingston Street or Zerega, calculates the points on your license the same way DMV does it. As far as points which are exactly three years old, let me give you, and everyone else, an example to work with:

As @train1290 posted here, you are allowed to have five [5] points maximum on your license when you report for pre-employment processing. Say for example you currently have nine [9] points on your license. Three of these points came from a ticket you received in February of 2017, another three came from another ticket you received on March 15th, 2017 and the last three came from a third ticket you received on March 30th, 2017. From the MTA's perspective, they look back at your abstract for exactly three [3] years. So if you reported for pre-employment processing this past January, you would be no good since you had nine [9] points on your license. If you report for pre-employment processing sometime next week, you would still be no good since you have six [6] points on your license. However, if you report for pre-employment processing on or after March 16th, 2020, providing you got no more points, you would be good.

Believe it or not, you're not the only one who has this problem. As a result of getting into an accident back in late June of 2014, the "accident" did not come off my abstract until the end of the 2017 calendar year. Surprisingly, when I had an interview for a driving job in the Fall of 2017, one company 'ignored' the accident, while one company took the accident, which was over three years old, into consideration! However, as a result of reading this, this and this review of the company who took the accident which was over three years old into consideration, it's easy to understand why they did that.

Thank you for the clarity, in addition I wanna thank you @Young and SeveenEleven for the encouragement, motivation and the invaluable resource you guys provide. Good  Luck to All!

They run your abstract from DMV. Whatever it has on it, is what they will see.

Hey, I really appreciate you responding to my question, however the answer was very vague. I certainly know that they'll pull my abstract however, my concern was whether or not they would count points that are exactly 3 years old. Thanks again..

  6. Hopefully someone can answer this question. I would like to know how MTA calculates points on someone's license? Is it the same way DMV does it? If points are 3 years or older will MTA still count them? Thank you to anyone that can provide accurate information.

Congrats!! As a reminder, your list number for this exam is in the 1500's, right?

As far as final processing is concerned, from what I recall, they look over your pre-employment packet and your CPD packet to make sure both match. If so, they'll enter you into payroll, you'll get your photo taken for your MetroCard pass, you'll go for your fingerprints, swear you in, give you some paperwork and booklets, and finally, give you a date to report to Zerega, as well as information regarding your temporary uniform.

Can you please share your list number for Exam 7612? Don't forget to hide the last digit or two in order to hide your identity...thanks.

Yes I'm #21xx, I probably should be a bit clearer in my question. As far as gaps in employment how do they expect it to be written on the application if you were supported by family at certain times. Do they expect you to write the family members info? Or just put supported by family from month/year - month/year? Please help!! Thanks..

  8. Received a letter to come in for P/E 7612 on 3/4 and I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have a few gaps in employment as a teenager and as an adult. What do they expect as far as filling in the gaps of employment? Can anyone give an example of what they expect on the P/E application? Thanks in advance...

Since this is not a civil-service exam, just call (347) 643 8229/30/31/32, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM and take it from there. All exams for MTA Bus Company and MaBSTOA go through 180 Livingston Street and not DCAS.

    Thanks Young, much appreciated....

IT'S best to show up and explain your situation.because at the bottom of the pre employment letter, it said "failure to respond will result in your name being remove from list."May I ask what is your exam # and a idea of your list #?

    List #31xx

  11. How does one decline but remain on the list for this exam. I am being called for pre-employment, but unfortunately I have to decline. I want to reinstate my name to the list before the list expires. Do I just show up to decline or is there a number to call?

  12. Just got a recorded message from MTA telling me that the list for exam 7612 has been established. It also said they my name would be added to the list and the letters will be mailed in a few weeks.  The recording then said that they plan on hiring from the list immediately. Good Luck to everyone !!!

If you do not pass Medical on the same day, they might tell you that they'll call you once they have an upcoming class available.

Keep in mind that the medical examinations are good for 90 calendar days; drug tests are good for 30 calendar days.

Thanks for the reply Young. What's the process when you decline/reinstate your name to a particular list? The reason I'm asking is I declined 7300 pre-employment a few months back. Thanks in advance..

I believe once you successfully pass the medical, you are offered a training date. It can range anywhere from two weeks to four weeks. It all depends on what training classes are open the day your hired, which is the same day you pass the medical. I hope I made sense MTA MAC!

    Thanks for the response..

What list # were you ? Not sure, if it works like general city exams my best guess is you will have to retake the Boss unless your score remains active. I did the same with NYPD traffic but didn’t bother with it again.

My list #7xx. I didn't have to take the boss. I was exempt from taking it due to taking it and passing it for other exams, all within the same year.

  16. Question? I recently declined this position, and I plan on reinstating my name to the list at a later date. How many times can I decline and reinstate my name to the list? A more clearer question, can I reinstate and decline every 4 months?

I think once you go to pre-employment and they pull your driving abstract, they will instruct you on what to do in your situation. From what i understand they don't allow pending tickets, but they will reinstate you once it clears. I think it's four years after the list is established?  I'm not sure when #7304 was actually established. Sometime last year, maybe? What list number are you by the way?

Thanks for the info.. I plan on just declining for now and reinstating later.. List #10xx

  18. Just received a letter to start pre -employment process  on April 4th. My problem is I have a pending ticket which probably won't be over for a few months. Any suggestions on what I should do? I'm almost certain MTA does not allow any open tickets. How long will this list last? Does anyone know? Can I take my name off the list then reinstate once the ticket is settle? If so how do I do that? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..

What do you think you got hung up on? People are saying this one is going to be harder...I'm trying to prepare myself for surprises ahaha.

From what I remember the material was not hard at all, the other thing is not paying attention and rushing through the test.
