  1. Hmm.... Well me, I'm good at playing all 4 of the major sports.... of course, I was the only black kid that knew how to ice skate out of my little circle of friends/acquaintances... hockey was probably my weakest sport b/c I didn't play all that much... would've liked to have become better at it though....

baseball I find to be quite easy..... I would play the outfield and loved diving for flyballs (back when Jim Edmonds was doin the damn thing.... lol).... I was a fastball/curve ball hitter.... change-ups would give me problems though...... always had good hand-eye coordination & quick reflexes..... my problem with playing baseball is, I would lose interest after a while.... the other 3 sports were much more fun to me.....

basketball, on most days, you didn't want to leave me open... I was a set shooter, and would heat up rather quickly (but when I was cold, I admit, I stunk).... I liked playing the shooting guard position, but since I was one of the tallest of the bunch, I would always be thrown at center - guarding some fat bastard that used his weight (and his stench) to gain inside position..... I was never much of a dribbler though.... I remember playing a couple games of "utah", where I did not miss one shot; including the "key" shot & the final shot.......

football was my isht..... on offense, I'd play WR (while I wasn't a speed guy, I was a "hands" guy; a possession reciever) & on defense, I would play safety (or using slang, I'd "play the field" - lazy right !)... I was hard to get around (esp. playing 2 hand touch or 3 sec. hold) b/c I have a long wingspan.... Sometimes I'd play QB, which was also fun..... fact of the matter is, I never got bored playing football....

Sheesh, you remind me of my friend in my school (b/c of your all-roundedness w/sports) . He played Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer and he knew how to skateboard too, and he was beast at it... He is one of only two black kids on the soccer team and the only black kid that I know that skateboards.... It seems like every guy is good at a sport other than me lol.. While all the guys play sports, I just chill on the side talking to the ladies Lol

  2. Now that's how you point out the hypocrisy of these new age "strong & independent" chicks !

What's funny about that is, while males don't get NEAR as much credit/acknowledgment for being family oriented, it's females who are judged a lot harsher if they don't have a mate by a certain age...... Let me put it in retrospect:

A man who doesn't have a s/o or wife by like 40, at worst, is called a loser....

A woman who doesn't have a s/o or husband by like 40, at worst, is considered to be worthless.....

(menopause is a mothaphucka.... how many dudes you know of that are in a RUSH to have children)

....is why smart men don't argue with women... it's futile....

Well, those will end up being the same young men that'll either end up in the trick bag, or the baby daddy bag......

I have to say, this child support hustle culture is quite sickening.... It's quite sad when you have women out here that WANT to be single mothers - and it's not just hood chicks on that tip either !

    1.) Exactly what I said! :D

2.) I see, they are judged a lot more and I'm not surprised.. Funny a lot of guys do want to have a family and such as well

3.) Oh yes! I kind of learned this the hard way, but I'm only 17, so its good to learn while I'm young...

4.) I see that too, a lot of them are easy to manipulate for the simplest thing (whether its for a few $$, or if I wanna trade a hat, or something like that; I can easily influence them, and I'm a guy! I wonder how it would bad it would be with a girl!). With the women who want to be single mothers, some just want money that they are gonna use on themselves, rather selfish and sickening ain't it?

  3. It's true about the sneakers... I stopped caring about brands since I was 13 though... At the end of the day, I'd rather have my feet comfortable than being in pain but in style...

I have a loud voice too lol... What I mean by quiet is that I don't talk to people I don't know well...

    That's pretty cool! :)

Another reason why I don't buy the $200+ Nike's/Jordan's, most of them are made out of crap materials and fit horridly.. My style is simple, stylish and comfortable.. As long as you can match it with your outfit and it doesn't make your feet hurt, you are set!

I'm not much of a sneakerfan, I love clothes and snapbacks tho! :)

Oh that type of quiet! I am actually really shy around ppl that I don't know well either, online and offline.. I barely posted on this forum when I first joined, but now I opened up and glad I did or I wouldn't have had some of the very interesting conversations (like this one) that I have on this forum :D

    and thanks! :)

  4. Oh the treadmill.... I once was on the treadmill at the gym for 30 mins straight... Once I shut the machine off, My legs didn't want to stop.... It was stuck on jog... I had to sit on a stool and hook my legs to the stool's legs... It was about an hour later when I was able to walk normally...

I don't really care about the brands on sneakers... Name brand or no name brand, If it's comfortable and under $50 dollars, I'll buy them...

I was known as the "smart and quiet guy" because of this, chicks always asked me different stuff like "Are you was always like that?", "Why are you so nice?" or "Why are you too quiet?"... I've always said: "It's the way I am".

The way girls or anyone would test me: They would look for a random photo of a bus or train and give me that "You don't know this" look... I would give them that" Are you serious?" look... then proceed to answer correctly... Then they give me that "how did you know that?" look...

Oh damn :o I haven't run on a treadmill since the incident, which was during Freshman Year (October 2010)

and don't plan on running on one anytime soon...

About the sneakers, i feel you... You are a bit older than me (not by much tho) and I've been told that as you get older, brands don't matter that much, and it becomes more about comfort vs. style and also affordability..

I'm like you, well minus the quiet part... Lmao! I'm the voice that you would always hear, whether during a fight, in the school hallway, wherever.. (not in an annoying way, just like you know that I'm there type of way)

My friend and I were walking around Springfield Gardens on Sunday, and he kept pointing to cars and asking me "What car is this?" and then I answered and then he would look for the name to see if I was wrong, then he would get mad that I got it right

We made a bet, if he found a car that I didn't know the name at any point in that day (between noon and 11pm, when I ended up going home) I would have to give him $20, if I knew the name of every car by the end of that day, I would win the $20.. I won the $20 and named probably over 300 cars correctly :D

  5. I guess we are :D

Ouch... Reminds me of this one injury I had while playing ultimate frisbee in P.E, I was near the goal, One dude on my team over-threw the frisbee so I jumped for it while running... I caught the frisbee but I hit knee first into the wall... I used to play ultimate frisbee.. until I took a wall in the knee... (yes I love playing Skyrim) It swelled up for a few days...

Another injury I had was during Baseball... I hit the ball and I was running to first. ( during P.E, We only played inside the gym... <_< )

I made it but couldn't stop on time and rip part of my skin off the top of my right hand with the window's lock...I still have the scar today but It's not visible much at all now....

I wasn't open about it because kids in my H.S were immature about that kind of thing... The only who knew were my close friends. Now when people ask me about it, I right away tell them... People would always wonder why I wouldn't cringe over loud noises like train brakes that would squeal (like the R32's brakes), trains passing over elevated structures and when trains make tight turns...

I personally wouldn't spend past $50 dollars for shoes... I know chicks would actually be impressed when they test my knowledge of transit...

Double Ouch.. One time I was on the treadmill in my school's gym, and one of my friends put the speed from 2 to 10 (-________-) and I fell off it and flew into the wall (I saw the video on facebook, and I can't lie, it was funny) but most of the skin on my right knee came off, I still have the scar today...

People in my school are really immature as well, but I am respected in my school (holding my own after being bullied for a bit, for being real, helping others out, class clown, etc. lol), so it wasn't a problem, although there is an occasional joke, but its just a joke..

For sneakers, I'm in to Vans, Converses (I love Chuck Taylor's!) and Supra, with an occasional Nike shoe... Never spent more than 110$ on a pair of sneakers in my 17 years...

If only girls that I knew were more intelligent about transit (some just need more intelligence in general  ) to accurately test it out but they always take my word for it :)

  6. To be honest, I'm not that great in sports but Baseball, I love baseball! I was the only one during P.E class that would actually know how to play 100%... Had some chicks almost rip my head off a few times because they don't how to swing properly... ( I like playing catcher but I can play any position... That's what she said lol)

When I play the pitcher postition, I didn't just throw... I threw fastballs, Curveball, 12-6 curve, Change-up... the kids start bitching saying I wasn't pitching correctly when in reality, They chouldn't hit even if their lives depended on it... So after a while, I just threw fastballs but every now and then, I threw another type of pitch...

To be honest... I wasn't open about my transit hobby in my H.S... Only a few people knew. Now I'm very open about it... I get people asking me for directions too...

I was always the properly dressed guy in school... Never really wore what the other guy wear. I had my own style...

I love cars too! I loved them since I loved transit... I was young when I started to get into transit... You've should have seen when I was young when the first time I rode on a R142 lol...

We're kind of alike! lol :D

I suck at all kinds of sports... except Kickball!!! ahh I had a mean kicking leg, but I injured it back in May, and its not even 30% back to normal, it hurts even to run (I fell 20 feet off a pole ; don't ask lol and I broke my wrist and I bruised/sprained something in my leg)...

Oooh my bestfriend is a pitcher for our school's baseball team and ppl always bitch at him, but he keeps the other time from scoring, so he's doing something right lol...

I'm a very open person, so going into H.S. I knew that I would let ppl know about my transit hobby, I didn't think that it would be a big deal and I wanted to stand out.. In Freshman year, ppl thought it was weird, but in Sophomore Year, my passion came out more to everyone (I recreated the Manhattan bus map in a drawing and won an art contest in my school for it) and they gained respect for me.. :D

I love having my own style.. It also makes me feel cool knowing that I don't have to spend 200+ dollars on sneakers but I can still look cool...

When I'm with my friends, I can name any car, train car or bus (whether we are on the N train, around Astoria or Manhattan or at Jamaica Center) and they would all be confused.. Its rather amusing

My aunt also recently told me that when I was 3, I would tell her where all the Manhattan bus routes went and what streets they run on.. That's pretty cool! :P considering it was at 3 years old lol....

  7. Just about any guy from any school falls into that catagory lol... I was always different school:

I was that type of guy in school who would keep to himself... I've never hanged with the "cool" crowd nor did I want too...

Had a few close friends who Ironically were mostly females... I tend to socialize better with females.

Was always the type of guy who was the most different in class. Not alot of people knew I love transit stuff...

Pretty good in history. I know this one chick I helped in history... I was always the highest grade in that history class... After my tutoring that chick started to come in second in that class... I got a kiss as a reward for helping her... She didn't use the "female advantage" on me. She asked me for help which is what I respected from her...

My choice of music is always different than most... I love the oldies. :)

Its cool to be different :) I'm very well known and popular in my school but because of my outgoing personality and b/c I stand out..

BUT I'm not like the guys at all, I socialize w/everyone and I don't play sports like they all do (ppl assume that I'm gay b/c I don't play sports which is absurd)...

I have the best clothing style in my school lol... while they all wear Hollister, American Eagle, etc.. im wearing a mix of urban and streetwear :D

I stand out for being different, I suppose..

The whole school knows about my transit hobby, and I am often complimented on my passion for trains and buses, ppl even ask me what is the quickest way to get somewhere by train/bus (especially hot girls) , which is cool... :D

I'm a big fan of Cars (not the movie), like if you met me and you pointed a random car to me, 100% chance I would guess the right make/model and year it came out (or close to it)...

Music, I love hiphop, rap, R&B and latino lol, half mainstream, half individualized...

Just goes to show one can be different from the crowd in many different ways.. :D

  8. That's good... Never let a female influence what they want you to do... There is a fine line between being a gentlemen and being a fool... Even if you wanted to date a "femi-nazi" broad, They would be to busy hating men to notice you lol.

Lol oh no I would never, I couldn't stand dating a girl who hates men, I would criticize her for dating me in the first place, as that is very hypocritical... And too bad every other guy in my school falls under the fool category... I love being different! :D

  9. Very true and in their eyes, we are wrong when we try to tell them that... * Nods head in disbelief * The part I bolded, Hence what I call the "female advantage"...

Oh yes indeed, I hate that.. When I'm in a relationship, I never let the girl try to influence me, no matter how hard they try, b/c at the end of the day, I do what I want, and I have been successful somehow.... Guess its b/c I don't date feminists or egotistical girls :)

  10. Exactly! Loads of females don't know what they want til they get older and by that time, They've already passed their prime.... That's why I laugh now when a chick says all guys are the same. Funny when they get mad at me when I say that they're ignorant and wrong and they proceed to keep yapping...

One thing I have learned about women in general (from ex's and family) is that they are really stubborn and persistent. They will do w/e they can to get what they want or to get their point across.. They always try to have the last word.. That's the problem....

  11. Yep... I be hear chicks say: "I don't need a man in my life. I should handle myself. F--- Relationships." Then when they see a guy they like, All that they said goes right out the window lol.... If the dude they try to go for turns them down, They go back to be a "femi-nazi" and each time that happens, it gets worse...

THIS^^^ This sums a lot of female behavior very much.. They don't get what they want, and then they turn nasty and hateful.. When I hear a girl say that she doesn't need a man in her life, I laugh b/c of what you said, AND b/c they know that they can't be single their whole life.. They're gonna need a man to marry and settle down w/eventually, unless they wanna become single at a very old age....

  12. Lucky me. My computer session ended just in time for me to run over to Cary Avenue and only have to wait less than 2 minutes for the S44. B) Then again, the weather wasn't too bad, so it might not have been too bad a walk, but still...

Oh, and in the morning, at Walker & Morningstar, I saw two S96s. One of them had a couple of standees and the second one had literally one person. It's just so weird seeing that (even though there was another bus in front of it). I kinda wish I had transferred, since Castleton Avenue was closer to my destination than Cary, and the S96 should still be faster than the S44 (though I don't think that would apply with the S44 vs. S46), but I had enough time to get there that it didn't make much of a difference.

That always happens on the Q85, there would be at least two buses (either a LTD and a local or two LTDs) and one would be packed (normally the LTD in situation 1; and the first LTD in situation 2) and the second one would be either close to empty or half seated... With the headways of some of these routes, Idk how they become bunched up like that. On the Q85 route there normally isn't traffic or delay, a LTD catching up to a local is normal due to stops skipped on Merrick, but a LTD to catch up to another LTD when they are 6-15 mins apart depending on time of day, is absurd...

  13. It's basically a Q102 not via 31 Avenue.

31 Street you mean ; and I suppose so, but the Q102 has more important places that it serves (Roosevelt Island) and it runs 7 days a week, as opposed to weekdays like on the Q103

Yes MTAFanBoy512,The Q20B instead of going to College Pt Blvd and 14 Ave it will just go to 149st and Whitestone. It runs weekdays anyway so I would give it a try

If you can route it perfectly, theres no harm in trying, both routes run weekdays only, which is perfect!

  14. But u see the Q34 is a feeder off the Q25 and having the Q20B serve College Pt 14 is useless and the Q20A is only a few blocks away. So to save money have the Q20B serve Whitestone Q34 route an increase Q25 service to meet the riders demands.

So you're saying to discontinue the Q34, and reroute the Q20B to serve the Whitestone portion of the Q34? How would this be routed? Seems interesting...

  15. There is many routes that should have been cut or eliminated. Such as the Q11 Hamilton beach Q26 Q34 Q20B to Whitestone and just reroute it to Whitestone via the Q34, Q67 weekend service should be cut, Q103, Q111 Cedahurst service. I believe and don't get mad at me that's these routes waste lots of money running especially if the ridership is light such as the Q103 Q26 and Q67.

I agree with this. Some routes should be cut or changed. Some are for coverage purposes I believe... I never understood the point of the Q103 either, it goes not too far from my school and I don't see much ppl on it, and it has horrible headways and stops running fairly early (6:30 or 7pm, I believe)

  16. Hate to split up this conversation, but I saw an episode (or whatever you want to call it) on 60 Minutes about parents leaving their kids back because "they want them to get ahead and have an advantage in life". I just don't see how that works. I mean if you were born in December, were you that much less developmentally advanced than somebody who was born in January? There was even a woman who paid for an expensive private school so her kid could go into kindergarden at age 6 instead of 1st grade.

My parents would be willing to pay money to skip me a year ahead (and the school should've done that anyway, especially in this budget crisis), and here these parents are doing the opposite. I mean, I don't know what's the point in that.

I don't understand that either, the children will just be starting their lives a year later, it doesn't make much sense... I was held back myself (not b/c of something like this tho) and although I am really smart and rank high in my class, I'm not necessarily "ahead"... Idk the parents logic, like if your child was really "ahead and had an advantage at life" they would be a grade AHEAD not a grade BEHIND....

  17. Faking the funk has been done by dudes for decades.... When I hear young dudes constantly talking about (them) baggin/nailin broads, I immediately call BS..... The older ones around my age on that tip, I just smh and/or laugh at...... In either case, these are the guys that are giving the vagina too much damn power.... These are the guys that are keeping these females heads gassed up like helium balloons.....

I guess you pointed out the main difference b/w "swag" & "game".... "game" has nothin to do with how you present yourself on the exterior (outside of body language, that is)....... basically, "swag" is "game" + sense of fashion......

Nah, guys are the ones who want peace of mind.... females want & yearn for drama, esp. young females.....

Think I said this in an older post.... to a female, a drama free relationship is a boring one.....

They're calling you immature because you're outside of the box (so to speak).... it's a shaming tactic...

Lol @ the sexuality thing.... I also spoke on that somewhere within this thread.....

This man-hating culture has a lot of these young girls out here confused.....

With the peace of mind, I mean't us guys, but I should've clarified, my fault... I don't understand why guys lie about having sex, it's unnecessary and they think it makes them look "cool" but it makes them look bad smh.... Its a shame that guys your age do that, you would think that some (not all) would be settled down... Smh, girls think that now they are equal to men in a way, that they can act the way that they do IMO.... Some of these girls are confused b/c they don't wanna face the truth that what they do/feel isn't the right way...

  18. Most of the riders from Astoria go to Northern away because the Q66 is faster and has lots of places of interest. The only reason why I would keep the Q19 is because of the elderly or people who want to go to the Astoria Pool.

Not necessarily, most ppl in Astoria actually go to the Q69. The Q19 is for those who don't necessarily live near the Q69 and a lot of ppl during the rush use it as an option to the overcrowded M60 (if they are going to the Astoria Blvd station).

  19. That's good that you do. It shows that you are mature... Yeah dudes would lie about that so they won't feel stupid... "swag" can work both as "game" and the way your appearance is...

Funny that you've mention piercings. I used to have my left ear pierced when I was a bit younger... I let it close a long time ago...

Usually chicks with that attitude have a bad "boss bitch" attitude... Unless you like that, Stay away from those type of broads...

I can't stand girl like that  so I prefer to stay away and its ironic because everyone calls me immature when I'm the one that gives them advice  lol

Another thing I don't understand, when girls change their sexuality every week or very frequently. For example there is this girl in my school that I dated in like 7th grade, and she was straight, then she became lesbian, then she became bi, then she became straight again, Idk if she's doing it for attention or not but its kinda weird lol. Many girls in my school have become bi to fit in... Its kind of a shame smh...

  20. Yeah, I always think with the head on the top lol... Your right about chicks wanting to control men through sex... That's also apart of what I call the "female advantage" Knew this one chick ( never dated her nor do I want too.) Who would control her B/Fs with sex... Thing is, Loads of guys think with the head down there and that's a big no-no... I'm always myself. I don't do that "Swag" BS that some of these desperate dudes do...

I've learned a lot from my past mistakes and I'm a better person for it... I've had females try to use the "female advantage" on me and I LOL when they get mad at me because I don't do what they've asked me too do... I never spoil girls... That's the wrong thing to do even if she is not your G/F...

Funny thing is that most of the chicks that were into me were already in a relationship lol.... Sure shows the fidelity of certain girls...

At the end of the day, That's what I want too... A peace at mind...

I think w/the head on top too.. unlike other guys in my school who think w/ the other head  One thing that I have noticed is (at least in my school) , guys who think all the time about getting "some" mostly never do .. I find it amusing  With "swag" I always thought it was like how you dress, not necessarily game or any of that .... Girls tell me that I have swag (Idk if it how I dress, which I have been told is really well, or if its the piercings lol or if its the way I talk to them  )but they aren't worth my time at all... A lot of girls have this "I do what I want attitude" and that bothers me.. Like if you're gonna go out w/me, we are doing what I want to do not you lol.. And at the end of the day, I think we all want peace at mind....

  21. Yep... Mostly likely ignorance... I don't care either. Thing is, I've noticed the younger chicks tend to be more stupid than older chicks....

Yeah I hate getting that message too, I'm going to have to start giving I.O.Us when I get that message lol. I feel something should be done like increase the limit..

The older chicks know a bit more than the younger ones, thats what I suppose....

and there was a thread about the amt. of likes, I think a lot of ppl here think that it should be increased, i think that it should be increased too. There are a lot of good things being said in these forums and it really sucks when you get the message and can't like a good post :/

EDIT: I realized that I just gave you your 100th like! :D
