  1. Straight sign of the times....

See, that's the thing....Around the time I was in grade school, private school kids would get picked on by public school kids....

Public school kids on the same bus/subway car as private school kids, forget about it... One way or another, the private school kids would catch flack from public school kids....

Nowadays, public school kids don't pick on kids in private schools near as much... they're too busy raggin on each other (regarding clothing or whatever else)....

In either case, both are effed up situations kids had/have to go through in their scholastic lives.....

It depends on who you ask, and for what reason they favor/dislike uniforms......

Public school kids, in my experience, don't seem to pick on catholic school kids at all... Although when I see a lot of public school kids in one area (Jamaica Center, at like 4pm, for example), I get a bit nervous, as there aren't much Catholic school kids around but a lot of public school kids. LIke "would they try to start something cuz im wearing a uniform?" "Or do they think im weak cuz I go to catholic school?" but nothing ever happens..

  2. Basically, it's either get teased for 7 hrs at school vs however long it takes a person to get home. Sadly, it's 'pick your poison'. For me the commute wasn't too bad or long. So in my case I was fine. Obviously it's different for others.

Oh no, my commute is long (1 hour 50 mins - 2hours), but tolerable for me (probably because I love transit, but if it was the average person it would be tedious and exhausting), only because I moved... Commute is def worth it tho.

  3. I love the Orion Vs out there... Good buses + good, fast drivers = PERFECT.

I took 6300 on the S79 right before it became SBS... Oh boy what an amazing ride!

Gotta head out to SI more indeed, just a PITA to get there from SE Queens (2 1/2 hours depending on route)

  4. As a whole, I don't mind uniforms, they aren't a bad thing. I mean, I'd rather have everyone wear the same thing than have others being teased for not having enough clothes or not wearing certain clothes. I see it as a small sacrifice, considering in Catholic school there are major perks, such as random off days (such as today, my school is closed today), longer holidays, the school year ends a bit earlier, stuff like that, that means more to me than clothes tbh.

  5. Well if we are going to talk about routes we have ridden..

    SI : S79, S89, X1

    Brooklyn : B1, B24, B41, B82, B103

    Manhattan : M1, M2, M3, M5, M7, M8, M9, M11, M14A/D, M15/M15 SBS, M20, M21, M22, M23, M34/M34A, M42, M50, M60, M96, M101, M102, M103

    Bronx: Bx9, Bx12 SBS, Bx19

    Queens : Q1, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, Q10, Q17, Q18, Q19, Q20A/B, Q24, Q25, Q27, Q29, Q30, Q31, Q32, Q33, Q34, Q36, Q39, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q46, Q47, Q49, Q50, Q53, Q54, Q55, Q56, Q58, Q59, Q60, Q64, Q65, Q66, Q69, Q76, Q77, Q83, Q84, Q85, Q88, Q100, Q101, Q102, Q104, Q111, Q113

  6. Ah I see! I know some Catholic schools are pretty strict (Like the one I tried) But it's good to hear that your school isn't like that! Got to wear a uniform eh?

Yeah, but we have dress down days. Yeah the uniform is easy for me cuz i've been in catholic school for 13 years. I wear a T-shirt under my uniform and a pair of jeans in my bag (unless it is a dress down day) on fridays and half days, where I know I will definetly be staying out late, so it isn't a problem.

  7. Thanks! I remember when I tried Catholic school when I was younger... To be honest, I prefer public school... Less strict in my opinion... Plus I'm not that religious...

No problem! I've never been to public school and probably won't until college (I'm a Junior).. Eh my school isn't very strict and I'm not really religious either lol..

  8. Yeah me too...

Feeling a bit weak because I'm not feeling at 100% at the moment... How about you?

I hope you feel better! and I'm bored lol. I have no school monday, so it doesn't matter if I stay up late or not...

I love catholic school and the constant off days :D

  9. As Sid the sloth from "Ice Age" once said "Humans are disgusting". Somebody threw a wet piece of toilet paper over the wall of a bathroom stall (it almost hit me. I don't even want to think about what it was wet with :o ), and then a minute later, I see pee running down the walls and onto the floor. I swear, the evolutionary clock is ticking backwards......

That is why I don't use public bathrooms or bathrooms at school.....

  10. Q11 JFK branch is added. New routing. Current Q11 Howard Beach branch will remain. Hamilton Beach branch will be discontinued since there is a bridge connecting Howard and Hamilton Beach, so thats not a problem.

why have a q11 to JFK? There is the (A) and Q10 for a reason.....

  11. Wow periods in my school suck, this is how it goes

    1st period : 65 minutes

    2nd period : 40 minutes

    3rd-8th : 35 minutes

BUT its a 7day cycle schedule with two cycles (one 7 day cycle you will have gym, the next cycle you will have religion), meaning that one day, you will have math 1st (Day 1 for example), the next day you will have science 1st (day 2) it was made cuz we dont have a lot of periods and we get out kind of early and they wanted each subject to have a 65 minute period a cycle..

If we have a 1:10 dismissal (like I will have on the 10th) then each period is 30 minutes...

Mad complicated at first, but now as a Junior, I am very adjusted to it.

  12. Everywhere in the world?

You act like I've proposed a line in London or Japan.... and normally, when I am approached by someone more knowledgeable, I surrender, but this is an obvious gap in service here. There is a need for this route.

Just because there is a gap in service doesn't mean it needs a route lol... Actually the gap isn't very good cuz you have myrtle not too far away so that just makes your argument invalid... But you never answered my question... have you actually been in cooper ave or glendale before? (other than boring atlas park)

  13. The (L) and (M)? Sure, use the (M) if you want to be late, or use the (L) if you want to be packed like sardines after Bedford...

The (L) isn't even that bad... Sometimes trains bunch up. So one train will be packed then the next one 2 minutes later is empty.... Happens a lot actually when I think about it.... I took the (L) everyday for 3 years I would know this... I have experience to back up what I say.. And if you take the (L) everyday, you get used to it, I did..... and it isn't as bad as you make it out to be, Lexington Ave routes and the (E) and (7) are WAY worse... The (L) is really bad during PM rush not AM

  14. You're being really open-minded @Danny...

Have you been on the Woodhaven routes? Queens Blvd is not at capacity on the local, and the Q55 is also slow. Why would anyone backtrack to 111th Street to take the (J) back to Manhattan? None of that makes sense....

Actually............... I read and analyze your ideas when you put them...... It's just that you make ideas for a route for everywhere in the world when in fact you probably have never been there....

  15. The Q54 and Q55? The Q55 has no connections, and the Q54 is long and slow. Cooper Avenue is busy as well, and there are a number of residents who would benifit from and use this route...

Q55 connects to Woodhaven Routes, the (J) and a few other buses.... How many times have you been to Cooper Ave Threxx? Seems that you have been all around the world with all these horrid ideas you make -_-
