  1. Here's a couple of questions I hope someone here can answer:

    1) When did Alabama Av become an "all trains stop" station?

    2) Why is this information not reflected anywhere? It's not on the maps, the official schedules or line maps. The only way you'd know that the (Z) trains stop there is if you ride the (Z) regularly. I could understand if this was a recent change, but from what I've seen, it's been this way for a while now, so why the delay in showing the (Z)'s actual service pattern?

Actually, now that I think about this, it reminded me of another question on my mind. Why are the local put-ins called (Z)s in the first place? They should be called (J)s for the sake of consistency. It's no wonder why people find this subway system hard to figure out at times. The (Z)'s service pattern is skip-stop in the peak direction only, except when it's not running in the peak direction. Those trains run local to and Broadway Junction depending on which rush hour it is. I'm a transit fan here and I have to say this is kind of confusing. Now, I get that when the (J) and (Z) were running R40Ms/42s exclusively, the crews may not have had the time to change the signs to (J) after being in (Z) service, but nowadays, R160s practically dominate the lines, so that really isn't an issue anymore, so why is this still going on?

I ride the (Z) only once every few months, and 1) I thought it was because the train was early because the NTT's didn't announce it. 2) Hell, Canal St still lists the (W) everywhere. 3) Agreed. I thought it was only for the sake of rollsigns, until I saw an NTT (Z).

  2. Utopia-An imaginary and indefinitely remote place. Why is this word, the word for ideal soceity? Why not create a new word for it? Why this word? Is this supposed to be some indication, that this is what we all want? That we want to be isolated, in our minds no less? Do we all want to be away? Away from the world? Or is the one thing we want to escape our mind? Our mind. The infinite tool. The center of the universe. The basic function of life. Are we just trying to escape this? Are we trying to escape out thoughts? Have we even been in there, and see what our thoughts truly are? There are so many things, that the brain can handle. Can know. Maybe just too many. When you start to overthink. When you start to know. When you start to really know. When you really start to know the in and outs of soceity. The in and outs of our universe. The ina ndo outs of life. Then when you think about it. You overthink. You overknow. Too much. You can't handle it any more, knowing these things. The problems overcome you. You continue to think, which will always lead to overthinking. You know. And you want other people too also. But that is not how it works. That what makes you overthink even more. The fact that well over 90% of soceity, will never know what you know. You want to tell them in some way. But you can't force them too. You just have to live with this fact. Which is unbearable. You want them to know. So they can prevent it. You keep thinking of some way, legal or not. But then you realize, this has already been told. It was just disregarded. So then, you turn and watch the countdown clock, knowing what will happen when it hits 0. On the way to graduation, we all die.

  3. When they will probably bring back the (W) in 2018, I'd have it go to Bay Parkway at rush hours.

Said that a while back but the thread got deleted. Shame...

    GET READY FOR A FOAMNADO:

    (C) To Church Ave

    (E) To Euclid Ave

    (F) Runs express after Church Ave

    (G) To Court St

  4. Agreed. Best scenario there would be to extend the (G) to 71st-Continental to help the (R) while the (M) is shortened to Essex or is re-routed to Chambers or Broad.

    NEXT:

The Brooklyn-bound (B)/ (D) track at Broadway-Lafayette is out due to a rail condition, however, all other tracks there are in normal operation.

Damn, four scenarios in a couple hours regarding an OOS track at Bway-Lafayette....

  5. An R32 (N) train has broken down in the middle of switching onto the Express track between Canal and Prince Sts. The Work train comes on the downtown Express track to help out.

In essence, the only thing usable on the Broadway past 34 St/Herald Square is the Downtown Local track.

    (M) Replaced with the brown (M), operates to CI via the (N) line.

    (N) Suspended

    (R) Single tracked, with select trains short turned at Canal St\(To ease congestion some trains skip 49th St)

    (Q) Replaced with the Orange (Q), Runs on the (M) in Manhattan and Queens.

42Nd st Shuttle Runs on (7) line, to Astoria, making all stops, with eleven cars.

    <7> Suspended
