The problem is that there isn't capacity for the , , , , , , and running on the 6 Avenue Local tracks. I suppose that using 34 St-Penn Station to turn and trains, 34 St-Herald Sq to turn and trains would be a good proposal.Only alternative to flooding on 8th ave is to keep the 6th ave line running in Manhattan with trains diverted from West 4th onward. I think SS you got it and don't even realize it yet.

NEXT: long-term construction makes the 8 Avenue Express tracks unusable between 59 St and Canal St. Try to keep TPH through the area as high as possible to avoid overcrowding.

terminates at 36 St or runs local via the to Bay Ridge-95 StBigger!
Hurricane sandy has hit!
Lines impassible and stations impassible
Sea Beach N
West End D
Culver south of Church Avenue F (The G can still use Church Avenue to terminate)
Brighton south of Prospect Park, no trains can terminate at Prospect B,Q
Livonia Avenue, 3, 4 east of Nostrand Avenue.
Canarsie Line from ENY to Canarsie L
A east of Euclid Avenue
8th Avenue Line between 14th and 23rd Streets A, C, E
Montague Street tunnel R
South Ferry 1
WTC E
terminates at Canal St, 36 St or runs local via the to Bay Ridge-95 St
select trains terminate at Whitehall St or Canal St, other trains run via the Manhattan Bridge
terminates at Church Av
terminates at 2 Av or 36 St
I'm guessing that you might have meant Utica Av, not Nostrand Av for the , in which case they can just terminate at Utica. If not, here's what I'd do:
terminates at Franklin Av
some trains terminate at Bowling Green or Atlantic Av
some trains terminate at Flatbush Av
terminates at 2 Av or 34 St
terminates at Rector St
terminates at Euclid Av
terminates at Myrtle Av
With the 8 Av Line at 23 St and 14 St, I give up

He probably doesn't know that the A and B divisions use different width cars.Because the IRT cars leave a gap when they are on the B-division?
Duh...

Really? When I downloaded it, all I saw were .exe files. The new uses .rw files, those will work as well.

Threxx, does the unarchiver actually convert the .exe into something that my computer will be able to read? The .7z files all decompress into .csv files as you guys know, but the new doesn't.

Is there a way to get the new on my Mac?

Wallyhorse, do you realize how many delays this would cause? You seem to not understand that it's not just about TPH, but about schedule. When you have the , , , , and all merging around the same area when their schedules are not interlined with each other, you're going to have trains reaching W 4 St or the Chrystie St cut at the same time, and one of them will have to wait. Combine this with the fact that if a conductor said out of the blue, "This train will be running on the line from here to Essex St, and then on the line to Broadway Junction," people are going to have NO idea what's going on; probably even the most experienced subway riders don't understand how it's physically possible for the to connect with the . It's not like a simple reroute that your average rider can understand like the usual via the for example.

Showing the to Neried Avenue makes sense because almost half of the trains get sent there during rush hours. The and reroutes are only a few trains, so it would probably be even more confusing to make riders expect that their and trains would do something weird, when almost all of them don't. As for the , I don't know. How come the subway map shows some rush-hour supplements ( to Rockaway Park, to Nereid Avenue) but not others ( to New Lots, to Jamaica-179th)? The only thing I've noticed regarding these is that the ones they don't show are a matter of terminal space, and the ones they do show are typically to provide extra service regardless.

I think the MTA did a really good job phrasing the via 63 St GO. Unlike the usual " runs via the " message, they specifically said, " trains skip 5 Av/59 St, Lexington Av/59 St, and Queens Plaza". That's what I think is the most clear: what stations the train isn't stopping at. Then, the description can go into more detail about where it is stopping and service alternatives along 63 St.

This is rare:
Service Advisory
Due to early completion of weekend track work, resume regular service between 59th St - Lexington Ave and Queens. resumes between 42nd St-Times Square and 57th St-7th Ave.

The problem with this idea is that I don't think the 2 Av line has enough capacity to run the number of trains necessary to serve all of these branches.

Are the R142s actually having brake wear problems because of the trailer axles which don't have traction motors? I remember hearing something about that. It would surprise me, since the R142s almost never have those screeching brakes that sound like they're wearing out. I don't know though; I'm not a brake expert.
It would also surprise me if the trailer axle setup was a problem, because it would appear that the MTA might be ordering the R179s in a similar configuration:
The new cars will also be lighter. By removing propulsion motors, lightening the floors, and making other materials changes, the trimmer R179s will improve overall energy efficiency.0 -
Who told you that?i heard by next week that they might do the swap, who knows (there is no confirmed date) but i think its time, tbh if it stays the way it is i wouldn't mind though

Exactly. I've gotten it to work perfectly; I just don't know the file name for the decompressed new folder, so I can't install it.It looks like he got it working to me, and the only problem is with the new .

Sorry, but can any of you please tell me what the folder for the 4.5 is called? I decompressed the 7z, but can't seem to find the folder.

THANK YOU THREXX AND BRIGHTON EXPRESS. It's working.
Okay, I'm going to download the new route.

THANK YOU so much Brighton and Threxx. It's working (sort of). One problem: the power button, Z, isn't working. So, my train is basically coasting out of Coney Island at 2 MPH or so...Anyone know how to fix this?

Is that better than just creating the folders as Threxx said? Or, do you think that I'll never get it to work with my current version?@TSS, you need to update your OpenBVE.
0 -
Okay; I don't know if this is going to help you but this is it:Both, please....
My OpenBVE window:
My Route folder:
"get info" window for my Route folder:
"get info" window for my IND Valley Stream folder (within Object):
My Sound Folder:
"get info" window for my Sound folder:
My Train folder:
"get info" window for my Train folder:

Do you just want a screenshot of my OpenBVE window? Or, do you want the finder windows with the files?Screenshot? I need to see your path's and your OpenBVE window.

Still not working...It's a glitch, click "Recently Used" first and then go back....
The Windows version is more stable.
Thanks for the help though.

Arrrghh...I did all of this, and now nothing at all is showing up under "browse manually" for the routes or the trains...I have all of the routes under "Routes", "IND Valley Stream" under "Objects", "F2", "F3", and "F5" under "Sound", and "R160 Alstom - 10 car" under "train"...I have no idea what's wrong.
0 -
Okay.I wasn't upset, just kinda exasperated, lol
Sorry to ask so many (dumb) questions, but to run the R160, do I put the folder called "R160 Alstom - 10 car" into the "Train" folder?
