  1. I don't work for MV but a Driver Trainer for Premier. I will PM since the questions are answerable for all carriers out there.
  2. IMO, I believe only those who actually passed the BOSS probably received that memo. But again it might be program to send it to everyone and wait to receive a letter. I'm hoping it will be sooner instead of waiting 9 months for an actual list. Meanwhile, If you dont have that license situated, Now its the time to start getting your CDL Permit with all the requirement endorsement, or work on getting the Full CDL on your own. Once that list is finally establish, They will start calling candidates when they're ready to close out 2613.
  3. To be honest, I don't think anyone here has the 100% facts how the list process work if everyone scores the same number. Only someone who works in the Transit HR department probably knows how the process work. Educated guess would probably be based on last 4 digit social. But that just an educated guess.
  4. Keep in mind that, NOT everyone will pass the BOSS exam regardless if they passed the easy written exam back in December 2014. The whole purpose administrating the BOSS is to eliminate people by cutting down the list even more. Even if you scored a 70% on the exam, You still have a chance to be called and hired. Keep in mind like many has stated on the Forum (Young , 161passenger, Hockey and ETC) Not every candidate will make it through HR level or the final part the 7 - 10 day on the road qualification. The list will be good for 4 years and can be extended for more by MTA choice. The more drivers that gets either fired, retired, or promoted will open up more space for new hires. The 7 - 10 days qualification is stressful enough. Like many others has stated on the forum, I would suggestion getting your CDL on your own and out of the way. It doesn't hurt to have the license and the reason being is, If MTA is not the direction you end up going, There's plenty of opportunities out there that are always hiring Commercial License Drivers with the proper qualifications. Not everyone will be cut for the job due to either experience, or unable to learn the transit driving style within the 10 day period. I've just started training new hires at the carrier I work for "Access A Ride", and I'll tell you, that even a 25 ft vehicle, people still can't manage to drive it the proper transit way. So imagine a 40ft bus. While you're waiting, work on the permit or best option the full license and take some driving lessons and learn to use the mirrors!
  5. The PM session was not that pack. There was lines in front and as the time got closer to 1pm, It started to formed around the side of the building. Some people were headed to the 4th floor, and Some on the 3rd floor to take the test. Not sure if the 2nd fl was being used. The class room I was in, The Monitor mention that, "If you were taking this test, that means you passed the written exam and this is only a Personnel Test" of course she was talking to the candidates who were questioning about using a Calculator and etc The test started at 1:25pm. Myself and some others were already done by 1:55 p.m. If you really paid close attention. The first page questions were basically what the questions were going to be used around to determine what type of person you are and if the answers you stated on page one actually matches through out the test. No wrong or right answers just lying to get the job was basically. Good luck to you all!
  6. You should check with exam units just in case if you were either schedule to take on.. Reason I'm saying that is because I also took 3101 BOSS and passed it and Today I took 4600 BOSS. So if I were you, I would make sure if you were on that list to take it today..........
  7. After the BOSS for 4600, We will all wait until they finally establish the list. At the moment 2613 is the current TA they're hiring from and they're are almost finish with that list. Once they finish up with 2613, 4600 will be the next hiring pool when they ever decide to start hiring from that list. As far for 3101 they must of been full at the moment for classes, if they sent you guys back home.. I know this week there's a Training class going on. I saw a training bus in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon driving on Linden Blvd. I'm also on the 3101 list waiting.
  8. Hey FatboyNYC, 4105 Exam was a Personnel Select Test. There's no actual score for these type of test. Its either you passed or failed the BOSS. But as soon they start gathering all the candidates who actually passed the BOSS, they will mail you home a congrats letter stating that you passed the BOSS..
  9. It will all depends on how many candidates makes it on the list. If its a long list, they will use it for 4 years.
  10. Everybody who scored a passing score (( 70 )) will be in the mix :-) Its all about where you are place on the list. the higher your score, the better chance you have getting called sooner when they start the process.
  11. Me too..... But we can compare the track worker list 3600 just to get an idea according to what people scored in the 100's and where their list number were in the range of. I strongly believe by late 2015 they might start the 4600 process. Hopefully there's no hiring freeze by then.
  12. YAAAYYYYYY....Thats a good sign of 4600 soon to be the next hiring class. Maybe late 2015 or mid 2016.
  13. You will still have the other class d license, but your nee Driver license will say class B and P endorsement. In the DMV system or when a cop pulls your ID number, it will show commercial class B not D.
  14. When you pass the road test, you will be given a receipt from the examiner to show dmv. At Dmv, you have to submit that receipt and your medical form that has to be filled out by a certified DOT phyician or etc. Once you submit everything they need, you will pay a fee To get a new Driver License ID. A new photo will also be taking. You will get a temporary paper CDL document until they mail you a fresh Driver license that says commercial and the class you're certified to operate.
  15. Welcome to the NYCTransitforum, A score of an 100 means that your list number will be lower and quicker to be called in when they finally establish the list. The passing score is 70%, The lower the score, the higher your list number will be. At this time 4600 list has not been establish yet, especially since we still have a majority of candidates that passed the written exam was not scheduled to take the BOSS exam past October 2014. Once every candidate has successfully taken the BOSS for 4600, they will release the list number to the candidates who pass both written and BOSS. In my opinion, Since Bus Operator Exam 2613 list is the current TA that they're hiring from and they are almost through that list according to the thread "Bus Operator Exam 2613 Questions" (which you can follow to receive updates and etc) I believe by May and June, the remainder candidates for 4600 will be schedule to take the BOSS. From there the list will be fully establish. While you're waiting, you can study and get the CDL Permit and its up to you whether or not to get the Full License on your own or wait for MTA. According to others who has went through training before on this thread, its probably best to get the license on your own. What you will need is Class B or A with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements. You can find more information by viewing Thread Bus Operator Exam 2613 Question and many others.
  16. No results yet. 4600 has to wait till the remainder that did not take the BOSS to be schedule to take it before they can provide the list and results. I'm sure it will be by spring till we hear about the remainders date to come take the boss.
  17. AndrewJC everyday people are crossing the street when its not their go or to make it worst "Jay Walks" in the middle of the road as you're coming down. Its not just an crosswalk issue, and even still the light is green and they have a "Don't Walk" sign or "Stop Hand Sign" and still try to cross in front of you as you're approaching the intersection. Out of all the boroughs Manhattan is the worst especially in Downtown , Midtown, and Uptown area. I haven't experience since I have been driving anywhere see any law enforcement take action against Jay walkers unless someone in city hall mentions about they need to make "City Finance Revenue" where they would start handing out citations for every little thing that occurs wrong. Pedestrian has the right away when crossing on their go, but at the same time be alert. Don't just cross because it said go, Always assume the driver may not see you. We have both good and bad drivers on the road all the time. But the way I look at it, if you haven't been behind either a 20,40,60 Foot vehicle where you depend on mirrors all the time, we can't judge what the average drivers who drives these heavy tons vehicle are experiencing everyday. I understand how it is and how it looks behind the wheels of a big vehicle. What I don't accept is to bad name the operator as a criminal where he never initially meant to run down a pedestrian. And I wish no harm and want anyone to experience either side of the situation. This is directly from Vision zero website. nyc.gov WATCH FOR TURNING CARS3 out of 4 crashes occur at intersections. Some spots are more complicated than others. Be especially alert for traffic turning left. DO WHAT YOU CAN TO BE SEENHawaiian shirts might not be your style, but adding a brightly colored umbrella or scarf will help others see you. LOOK IN ALL DIRECTIONS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES AND BICYCLESEven if it's a one-way street...even if the signal is in your favor...look around, just in case.
  18. So he screws up, she gets part of her body lobed off and you expect him to not get into trouble? Why? He hit a person with the bus. As far as anyone knows, it's all on him. Ok in that case, lets enforce Jay walkers citations from now on. Seems like its ok to cross the middle of the intersection anytime while cars are coming. If being arrested is what it is now if you ACCIDENTALLY run someone over due to being in a blind spot, So let the city start enforcing fines for Jay walkers and using any electronic devices as they're walking to cross the street and not paying attention for potential danger of obstruction. Everything is preventable and that's one of the things transit fights for. "Was it preventable?" Looks like if you're not a bus operator, you will go against the operator. And If you're a Bus Operator you will defend the Operator. But its good we all have our opinions and Hope there's not another incident.
  19. Was it the same bus number? if so if no one is requesting them to stop inside the bus, chances are they wont stop if there's another bus already there. From the way things are going with this Vision zero arresting situation, they will be less drivers applying for this position. Watch and we shall see how things becomes worst and worst as the years continues.
  20. When I say the vision zero is good in some type of way. I meant in some portion of whats in it such as the speed limit zones, but as far being arrested for an accident is not called for unless its a hit and run. Clearly Transit teach operators how to drive the safest way, EVEN DMV doesn't recognize the way Transit teaches the operator how to drive the bus to prevent accident. And clearly its proven because the things the operator learn during his/her training you can't do during the DMV road test such as 4ft clearance on your right, or taking two lanes. But still people need to understand that the longer and bigger the bus is, the more dangerous it is when it comes to making turns. Sitting behind the wheel all you see a portion of your right and portion of your left. When you're making that left turn, sometimes you lose vision on the left as the bust makes its turn and that's where the blind spots starts. In a car you can easily turn your head back more to view your back door window "If it has one" but the bus you can't do all that. Even doing the rock and roll doesn't work all the time. We all have learned when we're crossing the street to always look both ways and assume the driver may not see you. But today, people still cross no matter what and don't really care, especially in Manhattan. I'm not saying what happen to the teen is good, and all human life matters, but to punish the driver for an error is not called for. We still have people driving under the influence , intoxicated, illegally, and still doing hit and run. They should be the ones being charged. I can see this situation will soon have less and less people applying for the job.
  21. Clearly based on that picture I can easily see the Pedestrian was in his blind spot. Accident is an Accident, why punish if its an accident. This Vision zero law is good but I feel to arrest a Bus operator for an accident which I'm sure he never met to do on purpose should be thrown out! I feel Transit and union should of went harder when they were trying to pass the new bill for that vision zero law. Remove the arresting charge towards BUS OPERATOR!.
  22. Well written @161passenger. I totally agree, to get the licenses situation together. I recommend getting the CDL instead just the permit While we're waiting. I'm currently working for A.A.R. (Access A Ride) And having the license came in handy during their 2 weeks on road training.
