  4. I totally agree. It's a great excuse for rehabillitating the closed platforms and abandoned tracks of the Nassau St Line.
  5. Service Change Posted: 07/08/2013 6:28PM Due to a broken rail at Fulton St, the following service changes are in effect: Southbound trains are running on the line from W4 St to Jay St-MetroTech. Both directions trains making local stops in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Some southbound trains are terminating at World Trade Center. There is no train service in both directions between Euclid Av and 168 St. Some southbound trains are running express from 42 St to Canal St. Allow additional travel time.

  10. Then why were the R40Ms retired and then scrapped or reefed? I think they should put pair R40M 4464-R42 4660 in the transit museum.
  11. "(1) From 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 1, there are no 1 trains between 14th Street and South Ferry due to Cortlandt Street Reconstruction. Customers should use the 2 and 3 trains and free shuttle buses. - See more at: http://secondavenuesagas.com/#sthash.w6vwjJ8z.dpuf" When would the Cortlandt Street Reconstruction be finished? I couldn't find anything on the MTA website. Also, will it be connected to the Fulton Center?
  12. 4:48 AM June 30 Following an earlier incident at Jay St, A train service has resumed with residual delays.
  13. On thursday, there were three straight Jamaica 179 St bound trains and while the last came into the station finally an train came. It was annoying. Do trains start running local at night starting at 11PM because at 11 my was signed as running local on Queens Blvd. Finally I saw an train layup on the local tracks at Briarwood Van Wyck Blvd which I later I saw go (maybe a layup behide 179 St?) and an Train layup to or from Jamaica Yard.
  14. Due to switch problems in the Westchester Yard, the following service changes are in effect: Why some of the and the running local since they don't use Westchester Yard. Maybe to replace the which run local in Manhattan?
  15. Today on the Queens Boulevard line I saw many bell mouths! I saw one East of Roosevelt some west and east of Woodhaven I also saw the space behind the platform for converting it into an express station I saw one west of 63 Drive one east of 63 drive and one east of 67 avenue Unfortunately, I had no device to take videos or pictures of them. It was still nice to see the bell mouths. I hope to take videos of them at some point.
  16. I know this is old, but there is one scheduled train to 149 st http://boerumhillscott.com/transit/TripDetails.php?trip=A20120610WKD_049100_4..N42R&dataset=nyc_subway
  17. MTA Service Alert Due to a derailment involving a 1 train near 125th St, there is no service between 96th St and 137th St. In Upper Manhattan, trains are running in both directions between 137 St-City College and Van Cortlandt Park- 242 St. 2 and 3 trains are running local between 96th St and Chambers St. Use A service if possible for service to Upper Manhattan. Monitor Service Status for updates
  18. Thats exactly the same order I have except I have the R40Ms tied with the R42s. It will be sad to see the R32s and R42s go.
  19. All stops in Queens or all stops past Forest Hills?
  20. So what's the problem of sending those layups to the layup tracks past 179 St? This would allow these trains to be express.
  21. So let me get in straight. Those Trains are supposed to be express but there's a layup on the express tracks. Why don't they put the layups in the layup yard past 179 St. So do they sometimes actually make it run express? Is this what you meant? "Each level has one side platform to the west of two tracks. The two express tracks that bypass this station are used by the A train during daytime hours and the D at all times." "North of this station, the northbound express track descends to allow the northbound local to cross over it, before rising up at 110th Street, where the line becomes the standard four tracks side-by-side with the local tracks on the side and express tracks in the center. Also, the IRT Lenox Avenue Line passes underneath this station at the extreme north end and is not visible from the platforms."
  22. That's not true. The trains to 179 run express, also between Kew Gardens and Jamaica 179 St I looked inside the train at the FIND display and it said the next stop was Parsons Blvd.
  23. Today as I got off an train on the express track at Kew Gardens across the platform there was a Jamaica 179 St bound Rush Hour express. The time was 6:25 PM. I was wondering why it was on the local track? Perhaps for transfers? I didn't have something to take a picture of it. Before this I haven't seen one before. Thoughts?
