  1. Today, I saw 7221-30, 7241-51, 7252-60 (testing), 7822-32, 7844-54, 7877-87 and 7888-98. Yes, thats only 7 sets (6 in service) and may be less R188s than 62As but thats still a lot of 188s running. I've seen a day where there were no R188s running (and the set up to 7876 was running). Like JDog14 and ttcsubwayfan said, the fleet is still mostly R62A and it all depends on what dispatch sends out.
  2. It's fine. Saw 7251-7260 with 7903 testing at 5th Avenue Bryant Park. These converts look much better than 7231-7250. Those two 11 car sets (not including C Cars) look horrible compared to 7251-60.
  3. I would sure hope it was not at CIY. CIY has the bed bug infested R160s.
  4. I know it's the yard. But the TA could have cleaned up the converts a little before sending them to corona.
  5. I hope the MTA doesn't treat the new R188s like Westchester did the 142As. I know the TA won't replace the light fixtures on the converted 142As but they should try and keep the R188s at least a little better. It's ok, doesn't matter. I definetely saw a red/orange sticker on a B/C car on either that set or 7811's set.
  6. I'm not a foamer lol. A foamer would have gone into the wide open cab of 7848 sitting at Times Square, as legobrickbreaker said on Instagram. The R188 isn't for everyone. I can see why you would want the plain R142A on the . But, when you think about it, it wouldn't have worked out. The requires 11 cars and therefor, the "futuristic" 11th C car is needed. Also, they need to implement CBTC technology in the R142As to make the whole project possible. Your not crushing my heart, LOL! The R188 isn't for everyone. It's just my favorite because of the bright lights (I've never been a fan of the dim lighting R44s-68s), even with the recent new tech trains' lights dimming over the years. If I'm correct, I heard that the R188s lights are LEDs? So I guess the red sticker I saw was on 7833. But I swear it was a B/C car.
  7. LOL, it's not my home line. I just ride the a lot because I like the R188s. What car was the sharpie on? I mainly rode on 7837 so I didn't get a chance to see the front half of the train. I don't recall seeing sharpie tags anywhere but I didn't get a good look at the whole set.
  8. To add to your vandalism report, the "No Exit" sticker on the cab door of 7837 has been peeled of completely. 7849 and 7881 look good, those are the two other cars I rode yesterday. I saw an R188 with an orange sticker on the door but didn't catch the car number. I'm not sure if it was 7811-21's set. Might have been 7818.
  9. That set entered service July 17th. And it's 7877-7881, 7882-7887.
  10. Does anyone know why when your in a 7 Express train, the display still says ? On the 6 it says PELHAM BAY PARK etc, but on the 7 Express it still says , not .
  11. I know it's way late to clear this up because it was cleared up a while ago but as the maker of that video, I never knew about the (now false) rumors going around about the problems of the R188. There were no problems with the R188 at that time (as far as I'm aware) and I just took that video because after a long search for an R188 that day, none were in service. I know that video stirred up some confusion so I just want people to know that video was never made to point out these "problems", it was made to show all the R188s in the yard.
  12. You were clear. R62AR33 made it confusing when he made it sound like all eight brand new sets would be converted into C Cars. I knew what you meant, I didn't know what he meant.
  13. No, he (I think) is talking about the 8 new 11 car R188 sets (7811-7898). It doesn't make sense that they would become C Cars.
  14. What do you mean "The reason for those new R188s is because eventually they will be C cars once all the converted R188s are in service." That doesn't make any sense...
  15. Yes. To the forums at least. I've been reading this thread for quite a while.
  16. Thanks! Wow. That's not good. These conversion sets are not looking so great. What exactly happens when they brake down? I've never seen a train brake down before.
  17. 7877-7887 are in service. Rode on 7881 yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC5FoQCRUGg&index=96&list=PLBkGFNEh79Z3hKSKR8OFy6RN60lYUHcsV
