  1. Anyone here can explain this? Orion VII #3514 on the Q113 LTD.
  2. A pedestrian was killed by a New York City bus in Brooklyn. Bus involved was a XD40 #7152 on the B36. The bus was making a left turn on E.17 Street and struck the pedestrian when she was crossing the street. http://pix11.com/2015/12/14/woman-in-critical-condition-after-being-struck-by-bus-in-brooklyn/
  3. I was looking at this vintage map of Queens in 1975 and around that time in Far Rockaway, the n32 only goes to Lynbrook while the n33 goes to Long Beach. When did the n31 began to run?
  4. Alright, so yesterday I decided to take the n33 to Long Beach for the n15 to Hempstead Transit Center since I never took those routes before. Even though I live 2 blocks away from the n33 bus stop, plus it comes every 30 minutes. I had enough time to walk up the hill to Mott Av to catch it since I had like 19 minutes left and by the time I got to the bus, I had 2 minutes before it leaves, even though a normal person would wait for it. By the time my bus got to LB LIRR, the n15 was there waiting. After I got on, Long Beach was such a nice area. My original plan was to take the n15 to RF Mall for the n22 to 179 St but I decided to cut it short and take the n6 instead as I usually do when I take the n31/n32 to HTC. I had a good time. All off this was in the morning. In the evening, It was about 3:20pm when I was at 165 St Bus Terminal. I saw people boarding the n6(Orion Vll NG CNG) but I waited for the next one since I wasn't in a rush to go home. So a few minutes later after the bus left, an XN40 showed up and I got on. This is my 5th time riding it on the n6 & n31/n32. When my bus got to HTC, the line at the n32 was long but the bus didn't show up yet. Most people said that the bus was late. Then a Orion VII NG CNG n31 did showed up and most people got on. After that, a XN40 n32 came and the remaining people including me got on. Both buses weren't full. Both buses left at the same time. By the time I got to Merrick Rd & 5 corners, my bus was still behind the n31 and the bus stop was crowded. Oh yeah, few people complain that they don't like the new straps because it hurts their hands. When I got to Hewlett, the n1 came around the corner to drop the last passenger as the n31 left while my bus had to wait for that one passenger from the n1. Finally, both buses split before approaching West Broadway and I had a feeling that the n31 would meet up again with our bus at Rockaway Turnpike/Central Av and it did. I have been taking NICE for a few weeks now.
  5. Yes the train is real. The train you saw in Battlefield 3 at the beginning was the M7.
  6. I manage to catch the Orion V CNG ex-foothill #1012 on the N6 at 165th Street Bus Terminal. First time riding it. Smooth comfortable ride.
  7. Can you imagine if an NTT was equip with Siemens GTO-VVVF Inverter.
  8. Wouldn't it be better if those 3-row seats(2 seater) on 2011 C40LF(right side) become 1 seat, while those 5-row(1 seat) on the left side becomes 2 seats like the old 1999 model. Would that save more additional seats?
  9. So I was on the R188 coming from Manhattan and near the window, I saw a lot of scratches(key scratch or something). Does the R188 has hidden cameras? If not, then when? Assuming it requires money to install cameras. It's like whenever the orders new fleet of cars, some people thinks it's "cool" to ruin the beauty of new subway cars(NTT's) and I know the is trying their best to keep these cars in good condition. It is just ridicules.
  10. I haven't seen a RTS Metrocard bus in a longtime.
  11. I remember those days before the took over, I was on the crowded Q113 and it was annoying that the bus made stops every block and it usually take like an 1hr and 30mins to get home. I do remember on some RTS buses, when you press the yellow tape to ring the bell, you can still continue to press it. I did remember someone was pressing the bell and the bus driver did not bother to stop. When someone did stop ringing the bell, the bus driver stop at the bus stop and let that person off.
  12. I do remember I was on the and it overshot the platform at N. Conduit Av and only the first car was not at the platform. Also years ago, I was with my mom on the and the train just left the station and all the sudden the train stopped. Someone most likely pulled the e-brake. Minutes later, I saw workers on the right side of the train and then the train finally got moving.
  13. I remember when I took the N4 from Freeport to Jamaica a few weeks ago, the bus driver was talking on the radio and the bus had made a detour and made a left turn from Merrick Rd and drove on Sunrise Highway between Peninsula Blvd & Horton Av. I guess there was an accident.
  14. It was my luck. Just got off the N6 to catch the N32 and an XN40 bus came. I saw two more XN40 buses on the N31/N32 when I left Hemp Transit Ctr. Got off at the last stop. My phone took forever to get the picture to focus. Orion V CNG engine trouble I guess
  15. You know, I had email the last month on October 24 about the mislabel bus route on Guy R. Brewer & 147 Av. On the Q113 LTD Jamaica bound bus stop, it also has the Q111 sign that shouldn't be there and they still haven't remove it yet.

  18. I wasn't able to find the latest one of this year but only from 2011 & 2012. According to a article from 2011: A few conductors make more than $100,000/year Starting salaries for conductors are currently about $20/hr, with top pay at $29/hr after 3 years. There is time-and-a-half overtime once you work more than 8 hours a day, and there is LOTS of overtime opportunities for those who want it. There are some conductors who make $100,000+ a year. However, they are at top pay, work 6 days a week, 12 hours a day and have no life outside of work. The average senior conductor makes about $65K a year. Another article from 2012: As of 2012, subway train operators working in the U.S. reported average earnings of $27.99 per hour and $58,220 per year, according to the BLS. Wages for train operators ranged from $31 to $32 per hour as of 2012, and the highest-paid train operator made $128,836 in 2012. With an annual expenditure of $249,008,090 and 3,069 operators on the payroll, the average salary for an train operator was $81,136. 1st article source: http://jalopnik.com/5851714/conductor-secretly-reveals-gruesome-side-of-new-york-city-subway/ 2nd article source: http://work.chron.com/mta-salary-29105.html
  19. How was it? What time did you got on? I was thinking of going to Hempstead Transit Center someday and hopefully to the ride the XN40 on the N6 but I bet 50/50 chance of an Orion Vll NG showing up.
  20. Was anyone affected by the incident that happen at Ralph Av? My downtown was affected. I was waiting at Chambers St and the announcement said "expect delays on the uptown trains. Please take the uptown , or instead."
