  1. I would rather be a sign hanger at this point in my 5 years as a trackworker to be honest with you
  2. Damn thats way better than what a trackworker makes not to change your mind on your decision to make that kind of money as trackworker would require alot of overtime and the way this place moves it would be very disappointing to you
  3. I always tell people always invest in good stuff to work in if thats what going to have you comfortable while in the field. But it wont matter if iyour coat for the mean time has old job logos on it trust me nobody would care
  4. From my experience just starting out wear what you got until you start making real money to afford carhartt here plus everything is dirty so most of the stuff will get ruined or stained that will never come out. It doesn’t matter what logo your clothes have on them
  5. I was there before trust me ya number will be called just have ya ducks in a row they hiring until mid may from what im hearing
  6. Remember it does not matter if you was convicted as long as you dont have any open cases or currently on probation or parole you will be hired
  7. Not really sure how far back they go but if you ever been convicted of a crime and you served your time for it just come with the paperwork as long as you dont have any open cases or currently a felon on parole you will get hired
  8. Well dont quit until you get sworn in., and you dont tell them anything you disclose all of that on the 21 page booklet they give you. Also have your dispositions from the courts ready so it wont hold up your hiring process
  9. If you disclose everything to transit and have no current open cases you can still be hired
  10. There is no physical required for this position as far as lifting anything , you must pass the ekg and spiral test thats pretty much it
  11. From what i heard so far with this list is that they hiring until mid may stay safe.
  12. Hey i got 5 years with being a track worker answering your first question it all depends on what you pick capital days or night tend go have at least more people in gangs than maintenance days or nights., ot is voluntary you are not forced to work any doubles unless there is a state of an emergency which is rare to happen and snow duty. As far as brooklyn locations it all depends on seniority and if you willing to work night or days hope this sums up most of track .
  13. You never know alot of guys that just got hired got into capital days on the main pick as far as the commuter passes you get them right before you get sworn in if im not mistaken
  14. There is a decent amount of females in track you will come across a few there are female supervisors superintendents etc., alot of them find spots in offices so thats probably why people dont see them alot out on the tracks
  15. I know a few people that are currently employees that went through this same process and got called once they we’re done with the program, but idk if they went through with transit’s program or there own neva heard of anybody paying for anything and I believe you was suppose reinstated once you you we’re told that you failed. But i would go up to 180 livingston with all your paper work and the lady name that told you to reinstate after you completed the program.
  16. From what i found out these past few days is that theres been someone who was bumped up on the list and has been hired skipping ppl that was before him because someone in his family works for transit., now that happened transit freezed you guys list to find out how many people was before him because by law those people have to get hired so just hang tight guys they are suppose be hiring until jan
  17. Thats if they union updates the seniority list before the pick comes they may just keep the guys coming in as x gangs the pick is supposed to happening the 16th
