Pretty much next should be ekg and all the other medical stuff transit wants done

After medical pretty much (seeing the mta doctor) , you guys do the medical modules you get your picture taken and sworn in it should be more than 2 days down at Livingston after all your paper work is completed

Things are going to move quick with you guys many of you guys should be out in the field at least in ojt by june

Classes should he rolling out in the next few days to get guys out in the field by june

Just wanna note that this crazy that they you guys going thru petty tickets and shit to get hired they needed so many trackworkers last test they was putting ppl in programs wit dwi’s before they started working for transit and tickets they was telling u to go handle before processing

Not to sure yet but i kno for a fact they are trying to hire 100 for the time being and they are going to be located in yards until the mass pick, also im assuming that there will be a class of at least 25 due to covid

Locations depends on what’s available anywhere from the bronx to brooklyn

Most likely you guys will be going nights 11p -7a or 10p to 6a but if you slip into a day position its 8a-4p

50 people a class but not to sure now that its covid

Just a heads up folks theres going to be a mass hiring in june im hearing about 5 to 6 classes of about 50 people

This is not accurate i personally spoke to management and general superintendents and they both said that pat Foye is speaking this way because transit is asking for it’s second bail out and by getting this is one by saying there won’t be enough workers to move the city that is all politics

The process takes a few years nothing happens overnight in this company but it will come around when you least expect it just keep your nose clean and be ready when they call

Nobody in mow got any letters about any layoffs and there is currently 176 trackworker spot short of man power as right now

Wonder what’s taking so long for ours than we got no seniority list out or anything yet no pick locations or nothing as of yet

Nobody ever knows wat goes on with the pick and they don’t know how to conduct it because covid

Different departments require a lot of hires unfortunately track is old school and rarely moves especially with so much new people that have been called within the last 3 years

It can take years before she actually get called

It’s pretty much like applying to another company

Lol a lot of people that live in Long Island that work here would wish for that but unfortunately you would have to work in the city LIRR is its own sector of transit

And high 700 is pretty good I got called around the 3000’s so you go figure but it was 12k+ that was eligible on my list but I would gestimate they would of started hiring you guys around the next year or 2

It took me 8 years to get hired I pursued other careers but nothing was like this one so I would say it’s worth the wait, granted I’m not saying wait around until they call because we don’t know when they will especially with the whole pandemic thing but if watever your doing at the time they call isn’t what you love than give it a shot, transit trackworker is one of the best jobs around.

a few months ago they came out with the updated seniority list it was over 2000 trackworker I wanna say currently it’s less than 1800 due to retirees people that got fired and died so far

so durning the pandemic they tried to limit work with inspections because it was skeleton crew many people was out sick but with tgc and other emergency work that to be done it was a lot of ot so before and during it’s been ot it all depends on what you are working weather it’s Maintenance days or night , or capital days or night, capital tend to report to different locations daily and stay out for bit but Maintenance can be the same way depending if your a specialist I find every task enjoyable because I am a worker only task I dislike I would say is flagging but it saves lives so I take it serious everyone do
