Why do call the RTS buses the GOATs of the NYC bus system?
GOAT = Greatest Of All Time

As I noted above, there are a lot of ghost buses. Some in Queens, some in the Bronx, Brooklyn and the lions share on Staten Island. Will have to get this addressed at some point. I want all buses to be trackable. Can lead to people thinking the buses aren’t coming...
A lot of the time the short turns aren't on BusTime or show up as heading to the end of the route, which can be a problem. Happens a lot of the Bx12 Select, the buses that end at University Avenue or Pelham Bay Park show up as buses ending at Inwood or Bay Plaza respectively.

After having been on them on the M57 during the peak of the peak, I'd have to agree with this. They just suck up the whole crowd, it's amazing.
Speaking of which, have they run an XD40 on the M57 yet?
They have, in fact the XD40s have shown up on every route except for the M55, M20, and M12

Didn’t work on my side.
On the BusTime website they work as "BJ-MW", "MW-ML", and "BEDLOOP".
Are there any more for other shuttles or are those just the only trackable ones now? I remember someone mentioning a few trackable shuttle routes a long time ago but I want to start compiling a list of them just cause

The new XD40 buses that are being delivered to MJQ, are they to push out the RTS and if so is that going to be a problem for the M66 & M72
Not really, the M66 and M72 will have the XD40s and LFS' since they can and have used the 65th Street Transverse before without problem

Does anyone have / could DM me a list of the names of the shuttle routes on BusTime?

Looks like they’re putting up sbs machine stands on 14th Street. Bus lanes are painted but only by the interesections of 14 street from 8th to 1st Avenue. Weird they’re speeding this now since it won’t start until April.
The M14 SBS is supposed to start in January though

Do they have New York City bus decals ? As these buses already have bus decals.
They have Bus decals. They used to just have logos.

They can be coupled together like that??? Why can’t they operate in revenue service together?
There was a R68/R68A coupled set back in 2016 that ran in revenue service on the and the for a while.

Seems the already delivered Cuomo scheme buses are getting the MTA New York City Bus logos. #715 now has them and #702 was reported having them as well.

Why do s/b Bx39 buses say Soundview Ave Pugsley Ave instead of Clasons Pt?
1 hour ago, BM5 via Woodhaven said:You mean the Bx36? In any case, the Bx36 doesn't even terminate in Soundview. That terminal is in Castle Hill, east of Soundview (and Clason Point).
Nope, the Bx39. It was recently changed to avoid confusion between the original Clasons Point terminal and the Clasons Point ferry terminal. IIRC the Bx27 got the update as well.

Almost two months ago, I was in Staten Island gathering lots of footage of the old X routes before they were discontinued.
When I went down to ETC, I was taking a photo of an S84 bus but then this employee came out from inside the office room and fiercely told me, "It's illegal to take pictures of buses and trains!!" Shortly after, I tried to fan from a few sneaky spots at ETC, but shortly left afterward.
I know it's legal to take photos of buses and trains, but I plan on going down to ETC again to fan some bus routes. Does anyone have a link to the MTA rulebook so that I can show it to any employee there who tries to bother me with illegal photo reasons? IINM it states that photography is completely legal.

Today's one of those non-holidays where buses (and only buses) are running a Sunday schedule. On a day where the stock market is OPEN, private schools are OPEN, and non-government offices are OPEN.
The really expects people to stay home today even though Columbus Day hasn't been a relevant holiday in the last 10-15 years. What a load of crap.
You sure about that? The weekday only routes are running and from the looks of BusTime, everything's running on a normal weekday schedule.

So does that mean they are going to keep their Orion VII Gen I for a bit longer
It's possible that MHV could get some of the Next Gens from the Bronx and Staten Island, as I'm guessing they will be moved out of their respective depots when these new Novas come in.

Apparently so and I wrote to Byford and showed him photos yesterday. We'll be bringing this up at the next Board meeting. This is better than them not sending a bus out, but Baisley Depot only has TWO routes that are express, so why are they so short on buses. The QM21 runs during the week only, and the QM4 runs hourly on Saturday and Sunday, so you certainly don't need all of those buses out on the road. There should be some spares available.
Don't forgot the QM44 😂

Between 0011-5 and the 9500 Electric buses, are there any differences between the two?
0011-0015 are electric and the 9500s are diesel-electric.

Unplanned Subway Service Changes
in New York City Subway

Service Change Posted: 01/04/2019 9:44AM
Northbound , , , and trains are moving at slower speeds between 59th St and 145th St as our crews repair a malfunctioning switch near Norwood-205 St.
There is reduced train service from Norwood-205 St to Bedford Park Blvd because of this switch malfunction.
Expect delays in train service in both directions in the Bronx.
Consider using Bx1 or Bx2 bus service on Grand Concourse for alternate service. Please see a station agent for a courtesy pass for continuing subway or bus service

Southbound and trains are making express stops from Roosevelt Av-Jackson Hts to Queens Plaza because a train's brakes were automatically activated at Steinway St.
Expect delays on southbound , , , and trains.
