I know, but do kids look up and read the ads on the subway? They are more likely to see an add in front of a bus in BIG BOLD TEXT than in a slot on the ceiling of a train.

Are you joking... Of course kids read ads on the subway... everyone does that

What is preventing them from turning at 167? That interlocking is controlled from Bedford Park, so it isn’t like there is no one manning the tower there...

Seems like more MTA laziness and myopia to me.

There's track work being done on the express track between 167th and 170th. They probably could use the side track at 167th but they're probably avoiding doing so for some reason...

Today at the 125th street on the LEX, going south as I'm walking down the stairs I noticed the countdown clock says a (4) to Woodlawn is pulling in, when the train pulled in, it was a R62A (4) train!!! I was like, 62A (4) train change of plans, I'm riding this thing up to Woodlawn, and the train was fairly empty too, double whammy😃 I'm giddy as hell and then the doors open and the C/R says its the last stop no passengers... I was so bummed, since the G.O had ended, they probably was taking all the 62A (4) trains OOS at 125th to go back to Westchester Yard. Took the (5) train south and saw another 62A (4) going express between Union Square and Grand Central, at least I got an 32 (C) train going home.

Not all of them, there were at least two sets that went up to Woodlawn today

Confirmed. 6083 and 6087 are at MJQ.

Unless 6083 moved from GA to MJQ in the span of two hours, it's still at GA. I rode it on the (M) Shuttle at around 6:30 PM today.

Again, it could have totally moved to MJQ within two hours since I last saw it, but I just want to make sure it's actually physically there at MJQ and not just in the system at MJQ.

  6. MTA Service Status

    Service Change  Posted: 04/05/2018  6:37PM

Southbound (2) and (3) trains are not running between Chambers St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr because of a disabled train near Wall St.

The train has returned to Wall St and has been taken out of passenger service. Service changes continue pending an ongoing NYC Transit investigation. We are working to restore regular (2) and (3) southbound service to Brooklyn as soon as possible. Northbound (2) and (3) service, which had earlier been routed via the (4) and (5) lines, is operating normally.

Southbound (2) trains are stopping along the  line from 149 St-Grand Concourse to Nevins St.

Southbound (3) trains are stopping along the (1) line from Chambers St and end at South Ferry.

Southbound (4) and (5) trains are running local from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Franklin Av.

Passengers at bypassed stations may request a block ticket from station agents to re-enter the system for service on nearby lines.

For service from Manhattan to Brooklyn passengers are advised to use the (A), (B), (C), (D)(N), (Q)(R)(4) or (5) train service.

Expect delays in (1)(2)(3)(4) and (5) train service

But has the Mta confirmed that they will let Columbia buy that land where MHV is standing right now?

They haven't confirmed anything, but there's more to the XDE40s going to GA than that. As @JeremiahC99 said GA is currently the Bus Operations Engineering HQ. Besides, they also have the XD40s so training on these buses shouldn't take too much time as opposed to MHV where many operators probably haven't driven an Xcelsior.

Apparently West Siders aren't too happy about the notion to shut down 14th Street and are complaining that it'd destroy "the fabric of their neighborhood"...

On an separate note, someone at my school wrote an article about the Canarsie shutdown for the school newspaper and the general idea I got from it was that people are really only worried about getting around the city while the line is shut down (not exactly a surprise tbh).

Also I herd that the new Nova Lfs artic 2017-2018 will be sent to ENY for the b82sbs along with Gun Hill and Michael J Quill , but others are saying the b82sbs will use xd40s until there are new xd60s which is true ?

The LFSAs won't be going to ENY.

IIRC, #6109-6125 will be going to ENY at some point, although someone had said earlier that the B82 SBS will be using XD40s when it starts. Not sure if that's changed since then or not...

I have a Question why does Bus 3909 have Mta Bus logos but it’s at Quill and never touched Queens in this 1 year period.

Several buses that have been repainted recently have been given MTA Bus logos, even though they are Transit buses. A 2011 XD40 was given MTA Bus decals and so was #266, a West Farms bus, both of which have not run under MTA Bus.
