  2. I rode three different car classes on the (7) today, R33ML, 62A and R188s :D:D

I finally rode a Redbird on the (7) line, they are my favorite cars and I rode them on all the IRT main line routes used them back in the days but never on the (7). The 33ML makes air noises more frequently than the R32s, I noticed that when riding them as an adult today but never noticed that as a kid, TBH the redbirds "feel" older than the 32s do even though they are the same age, IDK maybe its the red paint and the 32s are sliver like the rest of the fleet.

Wait... R33ML? Are they running nostalgia runs or something?

EDIT: I just realized baseball season started lol

  3. This happened again...

    Posted 3:07 PM 3/22/17

Due to a fallen tree at Parkside Avenue, the following service changes are in effect:

There is no (B) service between Coney Island-Stilwell Avenue and 145 St in both directions

    (Q) trains run via the (N) line between Coney Island-Stilwell Avenue and DeKalb Avenue in both directions

There is no (Q) train service between Coney Island-Stilwell Avenue and DeKalb Avenue

There was a (B) and (Q) train stalling at Kings Highway at 2:34, and I waited 10 minutes until the (Q) conductor said there was a fallen tree... I had to use the even-more-crowded B49 now, as most people did. [emoji19]

  4. Something a little less crazy:

The Canal street complex from Broadway to Lafayette Street suffers a power outage due to a transformer explosion that will take at least a day to fix, knocking out service to and from that station on the Broadway, Lexington and Nassau Street Lines (the Manhattan Bridge is unaffected by this). This will take at least a day to get back to normal.

    Alright, here I go:

(J)(Z) Essex Street to Jamaica Center

    (M) Normal Service, Select trains terminate at 2nd Avenue to make room for (J)(Z) trains

    (N) Coney Island to Whitehall Street via tunnel, select trains run to 96th Street via 6th Avenue

    (Q) runs via 6th Avenue Express between DeKalb Avenue and 63rd Street

    (R) Bay Ridge to Forest Hills via Bridge, 6th Avenue Express and 53rd Street

    (W) 34th Street to Astoria, transfer at 34th for (Q)(R)

    (4) Grand Central to Woodlawn and Bowling Green to Utica Avenue

    (5) runs vía 7th Avenue Express

    (6) runs between Grand Central and Pelham Bay Park

  5. That's what makes the (J) a nice line to ride...You get a mixture of cars on the line

I ride the (Q) daily, and I don't get much variety, since they run only R160A/B's, and that real rare R68 and or rare extra (B) train on the local track (it used to be a lot more common with the Brighton GO's).

On an unrelated note, there was a weird (B)(Q) swap in terms of the tracks they used... There was a (Q) on the express, and a (B) on the local... however the next local was a (Q)... Why would that happen?

  6. Today I rode a 160 on the (F) where one sign inside the car was stuck on the (E) to Jamaica Center showing the next stop as, 5th Ave - 53rd (But the time was correct though) while the other sign showed the correct signage for the (F), FIND said please listen to manual announcements, I wonder what causes such an bizarre malfunction of the signs?

Couple weeks ago for the first time in years I seen a 160 with an stuck FIND, it was an E train but the FIND was stuck on the (F) line

I was on a (Q) yesterday, and one of the ceiling displays kept saying "THIS IS CANAL ST". The other displays and the announcements were fine though. I think it's the sign of aging. Also, I remember the (Q) train program when the FIND displayed the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center transfers at all of the local stops.

  7. Here's my unusual take:

    (B): suspended

(D): 36th Street to Norwood-205th Street via Coney Island (Q) platform and Brighton Express

    (N): suspended

(R): 36th Street to 95th Street; Whitehall Street or Lower East Side-2nd Avenue to Forest Hills

(Q): 59th Street-4th Avenue to East Side-96th St via Coney Island

    (W): operates 24/7

What about West End and Sea Beach?

  8. A very high operator has derailed his (N) train at Atlantic-Barclays, making it impassable for the (D)(N) and (R) in both directions. What would you do?

    My take:

(D): Runs in two sections: Coney Island to 36th Street or 9th Avenue (to avoid too many trains at 36th), Herald Square to 205th Street

(B): provides alternate service to Manhattan and Bronx, select trains run to Coney Island

(N): Runs in one section: Coney Island to 36th Street

(R): Runs in two sections: 95th Street to 36th Street, Whitehall Street to 71st Avenue

(W):provides alternate service in Queens, service increased, select trains run via Brighton Local to Coney Island

  9. I was in 9038 the 11:08 from Brooklyn. I believe that was the second train in. We didn't know that, though.

9108 was in the station when we pulled in at 96th maybe that was 1st in?

Everyone who was in 9038 got screwed, including me ;-; Well, at least it was the first full-route train. Everyone had fun listening to the new annoucements and screaming as we heard the new announcements, and getting out at 96th. At least we all had fun there.

  10. At Lex-63rd on the first train to 96th Street: "EVERYONE SHUSH SO WE CAN HEAR THE ANNOUNCEMENTS" "This is a 96 Street - 2nd Avenue bound (Q) train via the second avenue line. The next stop is: 72nd Street. Stand clear of the closing doors please". *ding dong* *doors close* *train starts moving* *everyone screams* OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH

At 96th Street: "This is: 96th Street - 2nd Avenue. This is the last stop on this train. Everyone please leave the train." *train stops* *doors open* *everyone screams* OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH HISTORY! HISTORY! HISTORY! HISTORY!

Everyone was so hyped in the first car LMAO xD

The trip to 96th was so cool
