  1. Academy is beginning to retire the blue and white buses. 8625 and 8686 are among the first to go.... will try to find more.
  2. Was going to get up early and see if I could hunt down some of the new buses near the Aldrich Road Park & Ride, but all I saw was 17121. I think I need to get up earlier to catch these... 8:00 a.m. is not prime time for buses going into the Port Authority from Lakewood and Howell along the 139 (which Academy co-operates with NJT), 132, 64, etc.
  3. There were some YouTube posts yesterday of 17128 and 17130 and it was noted that Academy is getting 64 buses, which would take it to 17184. That would likely be the end of the first wave of private carrier buses. If what I see on the inspection records is true, there are some NJT units being delivered now.
  4. I have eight VINs on new buses that have just passed inspection - don't have fleet numbers yet.... some of these are some of the new Academy buses but some are for NJ Transit.... keep your spotting eyes open, or go on MyBusNow & look there.... 1M8PDMBA4HP014374 1M8PDMBA6HP014375 1M8PDMBA8HP014376 1M8PDMBA5HP014450 - Academy 1M8PDMBA7HP014451 - Academy 1M8PDMBA9HP014452 - Academy 1M8PDMBA6HP014456 1M8PDMBA8HP014457
  5. 8406 is still active as of last week; I would imagine they would have turned most of the others in and kept a few older ones as spares.
  6. CONFIRMED Private Carrier assignments of the 17000-series buses delivered so far: 17001-17023: Coach USA Paramus 17024-17041: Coach USA Mahwah 17042-17061: Coach USA New Brunswick 17062-17070: Saddle River Trails 17071-17120: DeCamp Bus Lines 17121-?: Academy Bus Lines (at least ten, possibly more)
  7. I just saw about 10 new MCI sitting in academy's toms River lot. Couldn't get close enough to get numbers.
  8. Would love to know what's happening over at DeCamp because they just got all their new 45 foot buses. 8401-8450 might be mothballed....
  9. DeCamp has enough new buses to get rid of all of 8401-8450, which were 35 D4000's and 15 D4500's. A lot of operators will gladly swap 40's for 45's (if they have the yard space and garage capacity for them) and enjoy the extra passenger capacity.
  10. Updating the VINS.... 16001 GP014021 16002 GP014074 17001-17039 HP014227-014265 17040-17092 HP014268-014320 17093-17122 HP014345-014374
  11. Well that's perfect, since I'm in toms River five days a week. Also, another video was posted of 17121, and I can confirm that the VIN on that one is 1M8PDMBA2HP014373.
  12. Remember that NJT is behind on the order, thanks to the Christie shutdown for a few months. They also have an option for 75 additional buses each year. So 17184 may not necessarily be the end...
  13. DeCamp's run ends at 17120. Academy has 17121 and up. No telling how many just yet.
  14. Up to 17112 has been delivered. The last batch of buses went to DeCamp, meaning you may soon be seeing less of 8401-8450. If you look in the delivery thread there will be updates.
  15. Following video shows buses up to 17112 lettered for DeCamp. https://youtu.be/xOAprmZubls
  16. I actually have through 17104 confirmed. Here are the VINs so far. 17001-17039 - HP014227-HP014265 17040-17104 - HP014268-HP014332
  17. Found a pic of 17087 running for DeCamp. The company tweeted about their new buses about a month ago.
  18. > 17001-17003 HP014227-14229 so these buses, 17001 and up, are officially 2017 buses. VIN of 17017 confirmed as HP014243, so we can presume the others between 17004 and 17016 fall into pattern. The next license plate issued (AT-102N) is probably bus 17018 with the VIN HP014244.
  19. VIN questions relevant to this thread. Can anyone confirm that there is indeed a Bus 7362? I don't think there is. The only way the sequence of CNG VINs works is if that bus is omitted and I have no idea where it would go. There's no pictures, I tried googling "mybusnow vehicle 7362" and came up empty, and here's what is relevant. FP013698 is 7359 FP013699 is 7360 FP013700 is 7361 FP013701-13720 is 7215-7234 Also, I have the 14 VINs for the DesignLine CNG buses... if anyone has old SAFER reports so we can match up the license plates to the VINS, that would be extra helpful. The plates are: 7201-OYA6711 (I think this is CC665058), 7202-OYA5322, 7203-?, 7204-OYA6727, 7205-OYA6712, 7206-OYA6924, 7207-OYA6935, 7208-OYA6935, 7209-OYA6961 (VIN is confirmed from SAFER: DC665062), 7210-OYA6975, 7211-OYA6976, 7212-OYA6977, 7213-OYA7932, 7214-OYA7945. All these plates come up dry in AutoCheck and similar searches. The unmatched VINs are: CC665054, 055, 057, 059, 060 (all 2012 buses), then DC665061, then 063-068 (the 2013 buses). All those VINs are confirmed as having vehicle history on AutoCheck so they have to be the NJT buses. I don't think DesignLine placed these anywhere else. There was no 7215 for DesignLine.
  20. Is there a thread yet for the new deliveries of diesel cruisers? I do have some VINS for those who like to see that data..... 16001 GP014021 16002 GP014074 17001-17003 HP014227-14229 so these buses, 17001 and up, are officially 2017 buses.
  21. 6146 is at Transdev (formerly Veolia). Saw it yesterday outside Target at Seaview Square in Ocean. So Transdev should have 6127-6146.
