DUDE I was one of the ones who got 100. This test was easy as shit. Did anyone else notice how there were 2 exact Clear/Proceed signals? I had asked the instructor if I was seeing things and she just said whatever lol Free points. I could have sworn I made a mistake or two on the Definitions but NOPE....I was done in 45 minutes...I busted my ass studying for this thing.
Ironhorse did we by chance speak in the lobby? I remembered the individuals who got 100. Linda was so happy to see the high scores lol
We most likely did speak to each other then, ha. Yeah, Linda was happy. I didn't notice the double clear but now that i think about it, you're right. Congrats to you also. Now we wait, ughhhh.

Hey guys. Congrats to all that passed the s&d overview and are moving onto next steps. I cleared medical and got my official offer letter friday via email and the hard copy in the mail today! First day of orientation is 8/2 and first day is 8/9! couldn't be happier!
Awesome for you, congrats! Since you are gonna have first experience over some of us, come back and share your experiences in training. Hit the ground running bro!

I got an email from sterling talent solutions to start the backgroud investigation, that has to mean something right?
NO! Unless you clear that quick and get a drug test it only means you are moving forward. It means you're guaranteed a spot in the future though. Classes in august are filled 100%, sept filled as well.

Also.....the key indicator to know you getting in a class soon is if linda sends you for a drug test. Its only good for 30 day window, so if you have taken or will take drug test you know they got you pegged to be in a class within the 30 day window, thats the rules!!! Good luck folks.
Nice! Congrats!
Thanks bro!

Alright, listen up folks. 1st, I got a f'ing 100!! Oh yeahhhh. 2nd, all 3 classes are completely filled already. Not sure if anyone on here Fed has already taken drug test but anyone from my class is looking at 2nd week of January, guaranteed spot. Only an act of god, like someone failing a drug test or physical would free up 1 spot at this point. We had about 38 heads, only 14 passed. I'm going to celebrate my 100!

So i'm guessing you passed then? lol
Still waiting on official word in lobby, we had a big group, about 40 heads. No one on this forum ever mentioned the HR Q&A sheets that had to be filled out. Easy, but caught me by surprise.

The panel interview was pretty weird. They read out a scenario and ask you how you would handle it. Like you are in a train and two rowdy passengers start arguing and threatening eachother, how would you handle it. Just be sure to keep mentioning passenger safety. The people doing the interview will hint at what they want you to say until you actually say it.
Thanks for that!

Hey everyone, I've been following for some time now. I actually just took the s&d last Wednesday with newyorkgrom, we both past. For you guys that are taking the test tomorrow, if you put in the hours to study you will pass with no problem. we had a 22 people show up for the test and about 5 or 6 people got up in the middle of the test and walked out, 11 of us passed. The best advice I can give is try and remember which words are plural and which aren't and try and remember which definitions say from which, at which, in which, upon which. It sounds crazy but that was the trickiest part of the test.
Congrats to you and Newyorkgom!! I'm all set. Any additional info you can share about your experience with the panel interview specifically. How'd it go, etc..?

Anyone ever hear back from newyorkgrom? Was curious to how things went or could shed light on that panel interview. Hope things went well for him/her. Hasnt responded since..
Yeah, I imagine that's a bad sign, probably didnt go well.

Yea, honestly I didn't put in the hours needed to memorize everything. So I don't want to risk getting a extremely low score that will be kept on file. So I'm debating on whether or not to go.
Listen, if you think you're gonna fail, don't bother. If you think you got a chance, give it a go! If you don't go OR fail, the result is same. Reapply a year from now and do it again. How unsure of everything are you?

Question. If you don't go on Monday, you have to wait an entire year to reapply correct?
Correct, not going on Monday is game over for this run. Must reapply after a year once it is opened again. Why? You're not going?

Is everyone ready for Monday?
I am, you? These last couple days couldn't go fast enough. Just want to get it done now.

tomorrow is the big day...
How did things go Newyorkgom?

It's not that bad if you have a mess up they'll just email you and then email them back the correct info.
Gotcha, I guess most have something or other that needs attention.

Hey CT or Dre,
When you guys say after exam it took a month to fix mismatched paperwork, can you tell me what needs to be fixed? I already had a discrepancy between my resume and paperwork that held me up a month or so and was hoping to gain some insight so i can be ready to minimize problems ahead. TIA

Any advice on the panel interview should one pass the S&D exam? I keep hearing just keep safety and customer service at the forefront. But wondering if there was any other info given to those who went through it.
Pretty quiet in here, I'd just reference all the posts on this thread going back to beginning. Seems the panel interview everyone agrees they feel like they did bad but that it doesn't matter that much as long as you answer to the best of your ability. Coming up quick!

How often does a conductor have to observe train signals? Do they have to stick their head out of a window to see them? Also, does the Assistant Conductor AND the Conductor have to read signals or does the AC work up to that until they qualify for full conductor? Not sure if anyone can answer for me.
Also, has anyone here made it into a class and if so can you tell me what the experience was like and/or how soon after the class was over did you start riding the trains as an AC? Do you have health insurance before you become an AC?
Unfortunately, I can not answer these questions but I tip my hat to you, they are ultra specific. 9 days of review till my test day, pumped up for this!

Congrats CT1988. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.
How is everyone feeling with the material so far? Been reviewing definitions and signals over and over and over and over..... Feeling very confident with over a week left to go. Crazy how at first it seemed like 5 weeks wouldnt be enough but now it seems so doable.
Hey Gun,
I'm ready. I got last 12 signals to learn tomorrow and then a week plus to review. I know all definitions by heart and most signals as well. It went well for me but i did have to put in work for it. At this point i just cant wait for test day

Hey Fed,
For background check did you get that 10 year review from IRS? I heard people say to proactively get one to alleviate wasted time on verification. Just curious if that has what they need on it. They didn't specify types of work validation needed.
