  1. I just saw this post. I don't think that was us. Only time we went out on the D we went from stillwell to concourse and right back out, no pizza shop.
  2. Idk maybe he was tired when we had him but after all the big personalities we had filling in for our TSSs, he felt like he just didn't want to be with us and none of us were big fans of his dry sarcasm. Carney is sarcastic as hell too but at least he's also funny and entertaining to me. Maybe with more time i will warm up to yueng though, not fair to judge him off of a week.
  3. Yea luckily they accepted my previous medical documents and i didnt have to do the sleep apnea thing again. I was sure that would hold me back but turns out sleep studies are good for 5 years as long as u don't gain too much weight from the moment it was done. I was completely surprised when the doctor at the mac told me i was good to go.
  4. Man not only am i rooting for all you guys but when ya all come out I'm gonna be one of those TOs that's always willing to post students and pay it forward and teach as much as i can. My best friend also has a high number and really badly wants this job so i always hope the list just moves very fast and gets an extension so ya can all get in with him.
  5. Oh nah my bad i thought u were someone else in the 1300s. But my boy has been with transit since 2013 and he was in the 2009 list. His number was low and when he least expected it they called him so don't lose hope. Idk what his number was but he didn't think he would ever get called and he did.
  6. Yea I am 100 percent grateful and humble and i also feel guilty that i got a second chance and took a seat from someone else. But I also have a special needs daughter and needed that insurance back and the money so i gotta take any chances i get for her moreso than for myself. But don't worry you will be there this year almost for a certainty.
  7. We gonna be classmates then. We got tss carney and tss yueng. Carney is my personal favorite TSS cause he's so knowledgeable and his sarcastic style is actually pretty funny to me. yueng is dry as hell. We had him for road ops one of our last weeks and none of us particularly enjoyed him but he knows his shit too. But carney seems to know that rule book and every aspect of that job in and out.
  8. Sorry I haven't updated, but i managed to get in this class. Got sent to the B today also, so that's my trade off for getting to come back 🙄 but all things considered that's a small price to pay.
  9. For me it's the 1. I grew up on 137th city college, went to high school in marble hill 225th, worked at Cortland, 42nd, 59th and 116th at different times in my life. Hung out at dyckman and 207, had family at 181, and had a girlfriend at 231st. If I've taken the train 100 times in my life, 87 of them were on the 1. Plus I love the 62As and the line is cool and VC has my favorite crew room. I also live in Riverdale now just north of the terminal. So if I could be on the 1 all the time I'd take it. Second favorite was the 4 since I used to live by bedford park and it's a fast and easy line. 2 and 6 were my least favorite because u on the train for so long. U don't get off the train on the 6 til u make your whole trip. 2 is just long as hell. 3, and 5 I didn't mind i just didn't like the 62s and I hate the small crew rooms at flatbush. I'll take the 1 everyday of the week 3 trips and all. I used to get it a lot while i was there and I loved it.
  10. Especially those 3s. They were asking me why I didn't call it in and I said because everybody knows the 3 has wacky breaks and I was able to adjust. Damn trains are older than me. But I'm not gonna sit here and blame the equipment because I should have called it in as soon as I realized they felt funny. But then again if I would have said something right away maybe they would have sent some OG TSS that operated red birds to berate me for being such a pussy and tell me about how he had to use his hands as a wiper and still operate back in the day 😄😄😄
  11. Yea people out on medical or anything like that. Sometimes u get lucky and they stay out the whole pick from my understanding. Somebody i know got a job on the 7 until the next pick and he was only hired the month before me.
  12. Oh yea no mercy from the crew office 😄 but it comes with the territory. Bid sheets and lots of praying are the only way out. A few people hired around the same time as me actually got some bids this time.
  13. I used to hate PMs at first but it grew on me. More money to be made and I took OT that was offered usually since my wife and daughter were asleep anyway by the time I got out. I prefer AMs in the summer though so I could go to the park after work with my kid n enjoy the rest of the day.
  14. Don't be you'll be fine. They hype it up to more than it is. Just study and you will be fine believe me.
  15. Congrats man..next you will be called in by somebody and they will enter you into the system, give you the rule book and other stuff, and swear you in. That's it. You made it!
  16. Last i heard they proposed making it more of a 401k instead of a straight up pension.
  17. My boy is up there too and like I told him, there will most likely be an extension of this list. Lots of people will eventually decline if they find other jobs or move away so even though u may wait a long while, i think there's a good chance u will be called someday. Don't lose hope.
  18. Well I was put on medical hold last time for sleep apnea and since I lost my health insurance I won't be able to preemptively go to a doc to sort that out before I get called. That's the only reason I say a little while before I start. Would love to start next month so I'm gonna start getting my stuff together but if they hold me back for that it could be a little wait.
  19. LOL I didn't even think about the retirement tiers til u just brought it up. Tier 6 is bad but what I heard they got in mind for tier 7 is frightening. Yea man I'm very happy u have no idea. Might still be a little while but just knowing I'll be back is an awesome feeling.
  20. Man idk if one of u guys in here works in HR on the low or if the universe just decided to shine down on me cause of u guys good will, but i literally just got an email telling me the denial has been reversed and that I will be restored to the list soon. So I can redeem myself and hopefully be classmates with some of u. :Carlton dance:
  21. I was still extra extra but I happened to pick up that job that day. The 3 is usually 2 trips on the weekdays if I remember correctly with some waa for a putin or a layup. I believe I just had the 2 trips and now that I think about it maybe a shuttle at the end. It was a PM job. And I still keep my list number 9xx so once I'm reactivated I should be called back pretty quickly, but I will have the same seniority as whatever classmates I have which from looking at the thread sounds like u guys are in the 1300s for the most part. But like I said, I don't care I will take it. This job is amazing and it may be monotonous and can get boring but I learned to appreciate it more and love it once I lost it.
  22. Means back to the bottom of the pile so I lose seniority too. Sucks because some of my induction class have been able to get decent bids and everything this time around and I missed out on that. But I don't care as long as I can come back even if I'm on midnights in the B division next time (I live in the bronx so God I hope not).
  23. My request was denied but nobody at transit can tell me who denied it or why. Operations Training assured me again that if they see a request for me, I will be restored, but for some reason DCAS is saying my request was denied. Im gonna go down to DCAS if they are open today.
