  1. Yea, that time stamp means nothing. If you’re unlucky and have 30 employees come in for randoms you are screwed. The day I went in, I guess they had more help in the lab. One lady helped employees, the other gentlemen helped the PE group which expedited us a bit.
  2. Congrats! If it’s not too much, can you listen out to see if a Jan/Feb/Mar class has been established? im in the 115x range,
  3. During p/e for me, 2 individuals in my group were missing documents/traffic violations not cleared. The gentlemen in the small room gave one of them a separate date to come back when all his docs were together.
  4. Nothing is scheduled as in an exact date. But she mentioned she hires quarterly. A few of us went up to ask and she mentioned 1000+ is her expected time frame for us.
  5. Just got home from p/e, in at 630 out by 1. lady stated list number early 1000+ will most likely hit feb classes. She started to fill December’s group already. security lady upstairs is a sweetheart, loud but she wasn’t bad at all. If it wasn’t for her directions half of us would’ve been on wrong lines
  6. Focus groups, one for information sharing like this forum. And one for studying class work.
  7. 👍🏻 Awesome, I’m 115x seems like we’ll be towards the middle/End of year unless a bunch of deferrals or those that don’t make it.
  8. If you can I would say that’s best to. From what I’m reading the 21 page Handout will pretty much tell you to do so, you’ll need it either way to clear medical for the high BP.
  9. Just trying to keep up. Is this the current order we’re on? Correct me if I’m wrong below. 1-4xx - receiving medical letters and job offers. 5xx-9xx - attended 2/3 PE’s and medical, some awaiting offer letters. 1xxx- 16xx? - 1st PE session letters received. Seems 5xx-9xx’s might take the remaining classes and 1xxx-16xx beginning of the year?
  10. If you read through the whole forum, you would have caught you are the only one with the issue for the last few months. Do your due diligence and find out what’s wrong. Go to Livingston, call until you get an answer, write emails everything. You’ve been to PE and know exactly what to do regarding questions. Coming to the forum pissed off bashing people who replied to you wont get you anywhere tbh. we’re all behind a screen reading waiting for our own numbers to be called. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to come out as a prick but that’s the way it is, I don’t expect anyone here to even answer me if I ask a question but I’m thankful if someone does. It’s a forum in the end, no ones going to help you but yourself. If my number gets passed up no one will feel bad.
  11. Try asking your doctor about the medication. I was a candidate for the fdny a few years ago and also have high BP controlled by meds. the doctor informed me that there were certain medications where it’s an automatic fail for most city drug tests due to the nature of the job (cardiac arrest etc behind the lever). If I remember correctly they’re categorized as beta blocker and there’s another term I can’t remeber, the pcp should be able to tell you since you’re prob not the first person to ask. If it helps I am on Losartan potassium 50mg, this medication qualifies me for a couple of jobs I’ve taken Medicals for.
  12. If you guys ever take a look at your current paystubs from your current employer you’ll get an idea. hourly times hours minus union/state/fed. It won’t be exact but a good idea of what you’ll receive, minor deduction for other things you may need, give or take 100 ish dollars.
  13. Nobody from the thousands I believe went for pre-employment before. The folks who been there before and went through the initial pre-employment steps were prior, before the list was established publicly.
  14. Not sure how many people on here were in the S&D overview but damn. New respect for those that passed, finished creating all my cards and spent the whole evening trying to memorize the first 6 definitions and feel like I’m not getting anywhere. placing it verbatim is the struggle. Highly discouraged right now, feel like I wasted a day of studying time.
  15. Thanks! I took my chances of driving and found parking by arcade ave. Def will be taking the train in 5 weeks to avoid hunting for parking
  16. Closest LIRR to me is Jamaica station, no they did not provide a timetable. They only provided an S&D preview and a invitation letter with the address 93-59 183rd street, Hollis NY, at Hillside support facility stating to be there at 8:00am sharp. That’s why I assumed driving was best.
  17. Does anyone recall where the entrance to the hillside facility is located? I’m looking on google street view and don’t see an actual entrance? There is a ramp entrance with a guard station on 183rd for authorized vehicles by liberty avenue, is that the entrance? I’m due at 8:00am tomorrow and didnt want to be late looking around for it.
  18. I have the same, it only list the years. Unless there’s another work history list that labels the exact months?
  19. I saw you said you passed physical, is that everything from cpat, and the medical/stairs at headquarters, the 1.5 mile run? If so it’s now how certain are you to pass the academy at fdny? Dealing with probationary studying in school car and training for fire might cause some issues. And if fire request you to come in for anything you won’t be able to if you’re under probation in transit. Me personally would hold off on mta and keep my schedule free for fire, maybe spend last minute vacays with family, friends before hand because fire will eliminate all of that once you’re in.
  20. Fire all the way, I was one of those 98’s that got pushed back for exam 2000’s. I’d give anything to have a second opportunity at fire but I’m passed the age limit. same as you, I took this as a plan B. It all depends on you now tbh. Two totally different jobs, if fires your dream job then you already have your answer.
  21. Lol yah, 115x. thousands are being called! for those that passed pre-employment/background stages, how long before they give you an offer? Trying to plan out a timeline of things, I have a newborn and wanted to clear out any schedules.
  22. Extremely safe, the beginning stage was pretty much part of the hiring process. If you did not move past 9/27 you’ll have to reapply next year when the test is available again.
