  1. I have tattoos myself but I’m able to cover it with a long sleeve, I would try my best to cover any body art if you’re going in for interviews its just formality and more professional. They pretty much already failed if I’m correct. The NOE clearly states you must have these things already before signing up, not after. This is my first MTA exam but all other nyc exams I’ve taken the list gets established first, then as you go in for background checks is when they start dropping like flies. Great for anyone, it clears through the list faster to reach those with higher numbers and higher social security numbers for the tiebreaking scores.
  2. That’s for the bus operators, I do not remember reading that for TO’s
  3. Anyone else who did not ace the test get anything? Seems only 2nice got something in.
  4. Please let us know if you get it!!! I got 4 wrong as well, it would be a blessing if this comes this year.
  5. That’s awesome news! Good luck to you guys this week. Try to find out for the rest of us what’s going on. Atleast when is the list planning to get established.
  6. I had a feeling that was the case, It might be a good sign for the folks that scored really well; as well as everyone else. Hopefully it means they’re about to establish the list sometimes soon, maybe a veteran on here can confirm it may start soon now that they’re doing provisionary selections. IMO If you’re not currently working or do not have a career/life changing job I would definitely go for it.
  7. May I ask what you guys scored on the test? I am just curious to see if it was sent to a certain range of individuals who might’ve scored really well. I got 4 wrong out the 60, I’m guessing that’s a 93 and I didn’t receive a notice.
  8. The list has not been established which is why there is nothing found. Once the list is established that when we’ll all receive the little DCAS card in the mail with our grades for the exam.
  9. http://abc7ny.com/traffic/union-faults-mta-for-inadequate-training-of-new-workers/3144433/ for those that saw the news article last night about T/O's, what are your thoughts on this affecting our list? change of training methods? more strict in terms of schoolcar failing?
  10. it should mean exactly what it states... i have not worked for the MTA but I've been through other jobs which have similar systems. when we signed up for a position there were about 4-5 standard qualification questions they asked; example "do you have a drivers license?" right before you hit submit. those are normally the pre-screen questions. if you failed them (answering no), you already disqualified yourself or put yourself at a lower chance because you did not meet the qualification to apply. please correct me if I'm wrong, but my previous positions these are the pre-screen methods used to help the employer break down the thousands of applicants.
  11. Few friends of mine with mid 80’s (87-85) got their list numbers this week from #6601, good luck if you received it.
  12. Happy Holidays everyone, just checking in if anyone hear any rumors? ive been asking some of the folks currently in training for T/C and they haven't heard anything for the T/O's.
  13. this is my first time applying for MTA, but other city agencies I've applied to they can use it if they want to (5 point deduction), its our jobs to stay clean and clear of everything until and even after date of hire. when I was applying for civil service positions they used anything and everything to eliminate but that's a different profession and understandable that you must remain clear of any infractions.
  14. There’s always a chance but the lower your number the less of your chances, I was on the FDNY 2000 with a 98 and didn’t get called due to the SS number tie breaker. You have to keep in mind how many applicants took this exam versus the cities need for TO’s and if you were unlucky like me to have a high SS number that also can decrease your chances if it ends at your list number.
  15. Whoa, how are they getting to you so quickly before even giving out your scores.
  16. That is awesome, most city tests I've taken always use the last 4 social to break ties regardless when you've taken it.
  17. Thanks for the detail, I just checked and got 4 wrong. 93.3%. Guess it all falls under social security numbers to break the ties now.
  18. new to the MTA scene, as we know the 27th is near and scores will be posted. what scores do you guys/girls believe is guaranteed a position based on previous exams? ex. sanitation you can score 100+ and still be in the 8000-9000 mark and not get called due to the list expiring out. same for FDNY a 99+ around 5500 people before the list falls out. sorry if its a repost,
  19. First time applying for the MTA myself at the midwood' AM session. Guard said there was roughly 1500 people, test was relatively easy if you took everyone's recommendations from the beginning of this forum. Reading comprehension is 95% of this test so you get the idea, compared to sanitation test for those that took that exam also this was about 1 step harder. If you have an AM Sunday session get there early, there's a good amount of parking right across the street, early I mean about 2 hours early not 5 mins before your scheduled exam.
