  1. Hey Young, that's what I was told. I wasn't looking to start an argument. Now your theory with the certificate sequence number .. I personally have two different certificate sequence numbers for exam 7612 but I have yet to receive a single pre-employment letter.. what does that mean for me ? I was already taken into consideration once and not picked ? Also a friend of mine only received one pre-employment letter for exam 3600 but he has about four different certificate sequence numbers.
  2. You can decline up to two times .. third time you decline then your name will be completely removed from the list. At least that's what I've been told by a fellow Transit worker. There's a catch tho if you decline now.. they would have to finish the list entirely before it expires and if they still need to fill vacancies then they will reach out a second time around to those who declined the first time. Same goes for the third attempt. When were they asking you to report for premployment?
  3. Seems to be a typo, they probably meant Tuesday November 20th.

  5. Welcome Sam, Not surprised about the current number of applicants. -Exam #4607 (Established 2 years & 5 months ago) had about 478 applicants that passed. -Exam #5612 (Established 1 year & 6 months ago) had about 677 applicants that passed.
  6. They gave me the usual "results will be mailed 6-12 months from now"

  8. You have more then enough knowledge to take and pass the SPA then we did. You have to understand that Transit monitors this site and if too much information is released then they can easily void the entire exam. This has happened in the past. Take this with a grain of salt There's also the 1 in 3 Law so even if you do well it doesn't mean you will be selected. Just keep hustling and taking as many exams as you can.
  9. They weren't asking if you can read, write and speak in English. If you took and passed the multiple choice then you obviously can read and write English. They were asking for direct misuse of work ethics. They send you to school/training regardless so how can you possibly know all the Safety rules & regulations beforehand?
  10. I think I speak on behalf of many hard working men and women who are just trying to get into MTA/NYCTA to provide a better future for themselves and their families. The SPA should be part of the multiple choice exam process. It's not fair to present it in its current form because many folks in the private sector don't get the opportunity to get trained on safe work methods.
  11. Some questions were logical/commonsense but some where a bit more technical. It also seemed like they want politically correct answers.
  12. What's also bothering me is that there are other positions that are more dangerous such as Car Inspector, Bus Maintainer, Light Maintainer etc. That don't require SPA exams. So why are they giving it on a Helper position?
  13. For such a low pay they were grilling me. Like how am I supposed to know safe MTA/NYCTA work methods if I never even worked for them. I work in the private sector and As much as I hate to say it Nobody cares in the private sector about safe work methods. They just want you to get the job done as soon as possible.
  14. If I'm breaking non-disclosure protocol then someone please notify me. No MTA/NYCTA staff spoke to me or made me sign a non-disclosure agreement. Best advice I can give is study OSHA rules although I think that would probably take weeks. Topics were on -Safe work methods using ladders and naming types of ladders. -Personal Protection Equipment.
  15. If I'm breaking non-disclosure protocol then someone please notify me. No MTA/NYCTA staff spoke to me or made me sign a non-disclosure agreement. I'm not sure how well I did .. it was 10 verbal questions on 10 pictures showing improper work methods. I don't know honestly how well I did or what I can say but seemed like they were looking for very specific answers.
  16. I have a regular DL as well. I’m also wondering If I should bring my resume along. Thank you .. all the best to you as well.
  17. I hear ya, I’m also scheduled for tomorrow at Best of luck tomorrow.. hopefully we will all succeed. Btw do you guys have a CDL or a regular DL ?
  18. Hey mianyc & James1233 you guys mentioned your SPA was scheduled for 11/02.. how did it go or was that a typo?
  19. Hey guys I have another question for the current working TEH's. What kind of shifts do you guys have ? 7am to 3pm ? Also do you get to choose the hours or does Transit pick the shift times ?
  20. How can they use that against you? Aren't you innocent until proven guilty?. It's one thing when you're found guilty and haven't paid the fine but being denied for a job because your waiting for a hearing is unconstitutional.
  21. Not sure about this position but with Bus Operator position you can't have more then 4 points within a 3 year Period. I would say take a point reduction class if you have 4 points or more on your DL.
  22. 1) Bus Operator training is six weeks. Clearly states that in the application. 2)BOSS Survey is basically an exam that tests your psychological, logical and commonsense. Some of us from Exam 7300 took it last year and got results a few months later. My waiting list number is in the 1,500's after taking the BOSS Survey (exam) last year. That being said I haven't been called in yet so I wouldn't worry about leaving your current employer just because you got a letter to take the BOSS Exam.
  23. Hey Guys can some explain the difference between NYCT & MTA Bus Company? I applied for Exam 7612 which is NYCT and I also applied for Exam 7300 which is MTA Bus Company but what's the difference between the two .. ? thanks in advance!
  24. Those that received the SPA letter do you have a regular driver's license or a CDL B with Hazmat/CDL B Permit ?
  25. Basically the provisional guys lucked out if they passed the multiple choice. Congratulations to them. But if I'm not mistaken the provisional guys that took exam 8611 got offers thru a experience selection process (resume upload I guess) that took place last year or the year before so there seems to be some mixes and matches with this position.
