  1. Yeah but who wants to transfer with bags? and makes it so much easier because it goes through midtown. The (X) forces a transfer to another train before getting to any Metro North, LIRR, NJT etc.
  2. Your frequencies makes it easier for it to use only one track for Franklin. I'm also thinking about the fact that the (X) doesn't really go anywhere for traveling connections. It misses Atlantic, doesn't go to Midtown.. You should make it end at Astoria, then put the to LaGuardia Airport. trains that go to 4th Av, should also be the ones that go to LGA.
  3. Why not, After Myrtle Av, turn on Eliot until Woodhaven, then turn on 59 St and Junction Blvd until LaGuardia. I don't want to add on to Jackson Heights crowding, because it can get really bad. Specifically the riders transfer to , and riders transferring to express service. and riders transferring to local service. now you're adding transfers to Crosstown, to Crosstown, Crosstown to , and Crosstown to .
  4. 50th St is a good corridor because it'll move people towards at 50th, at 49 St, at 50th, and at 51 St. they're not all express stops but it'll alleviate both on 53, and on 42. The crowding on both trains is crazy high.
  5. Jackson Heights has way too many people going through and is going to be super super crowded with this new line in the complex. If we created another express stop (Woodhaven Blvd), Then there can be a connection between QBL express, the super express and the crosstown connector. Then, connect it to the via Junction Blvd. Another issue would be that 74 - Broadway is a local station on Roosevelt, and that platform wouldn't be able to handle all the extra people. Moving it to Woodhaven would help both and alleviate service from there, and connect to the Super Express.
  6. I think it’s a cool idea, but I’m not sure about that bridge, would a tunnel be a better idea? Plus a stop at Rikers Island seems potentially dangerous. But it does hit important places. I think Woodhaven would be a better road for the train. This way you don’t have to use Jackson Heights and do a better transfer at another station for and trains (separately). It just needs an alternative from Jackson. I do like the idea of two connectors. (Could use an express/second local for 86 to Fordham Plaza)
  7. My idea was that the would be on the local track and the on the express. They wouldn’t have to be on the same track. Probably should move the to 57th St after 55-2nd Av.
  8. Right thread, I just think there's gonna be limited service. won't run, and there will be wider intervals between trains. Something like what happened in the start-middle of quarantine. Just less service along the lines. Putting train cars in storage would be one of those reductions, unless it's the R179s, but those are already flip floppity.
  9. It should show stops that the skips, though it's a small nitpick from me.
  10. There's so much going on in this proposal, and I don't think we've talked about the logical-idiocy of it: Not only is there a running on a magical switch to the QBL, the is also running from.. Jamaica to Lefferts, which is an extremely long route, especially since it runs to.. both Rockaways. I don't know which one this entails. BUT! I'm assuming the or is running local when the isn't there. the running to Euclid also makes Fulton St line MUCH MUCH more complicated. Fulton St, has at least 3 lines on it at all times from Rockaway Blvd and trains. Then Euclid where and trains have to terminate (at the same time because.. and trains also have to do the same job for some reason.. Whatever your plan is here it's unclear. You're doing A LOT with Fulton and you don't realize it. Either it's all a separate plan or not. If you make a proposal, I will ask you to PLEASE. think about it. Look at previous proposals of the same nature, and see how they were reacted. You're running 3 trains in one track, and they ALL have seperate destinations. There will barely be any service at all on the QBL express from trains, and no service serving Jamaica Terminal. By the way, you're having FIVE trains run CPW, and I don't know if I want to be local to help riders with the utter LACK of trains. OR because it wouldn't be smart to make it change tracks at 145 or 168. But since it seems like we're throwing logic outside of the window I can't help you there. Other than that though! Good Point.
  11. That looks amazing, especially since I take the and trains.
  12. Proposal A: How would this work? There's no crossover between 53 and 8th Av via 59 St. Proposal B: Why the part time service? the needs the because it'll make the slag from 59 to the Rockaways. Proposal C : Yes. Proposal D : I get this one, so Ill leave it alone Proposal E: There's not enough service for that. Leave it how it is. It works... Wait what do you mean NO FAR ROCKAWAY? Proposal F: Ah okay, you're slowly wrecking Fulton St, the and train would have to share a track, so you might as well keep it how it is. There's no reason for Proposal E or F. Proposal B is.. fine. minus the part time service (maybe part time to Lefferts blvd?) Proposal G: Nope, it's gonna run nothing but AIR. Proposal H: You'll be missing a bunch of stop with high ridership and simply cutting it in half. You're boosting travel times, but you're making waits longer for more people. Proposal I: Question: is the also running or will it be just the <R> on Metropolitan. You'll still have 12 TPH (can't fix the Williamsburg bridge), and splitting that between 3 routes and peak direction express service would be a mess. Proposal J: the is already a peak direction express, the works fine, especially in peak direction. Rockaway is fine with the current service it has, Don't mess with Woodlawn, it was already tested that that service would SUCK for everyone (I've lived in Highbridge trust me. 161, 167, 170th, 174, are all stations with high ridership. Making a train go only two stops (Woodlawn to Burnside to 149 St) trust me, nobody is taking the train and everyone DREADS the express routing.
  13. Ah okay, I think that a train from 50th to Flushing would work better than the Crosstown. I do think that it should be a B-Division train. This way, a Queens Super Express *runs on Second Avenue can be made to go to Forest Hills via the same tunnel.* The 50th-Northern Blvd Crosstown [I'll call it ] should also end at 72 - Broadway after going up on Amsterdam - 50th. I still think that the or train should go to Northern (probably the since it'll have more connections going via Franklin) and the should go up 21 St - Queensbridge to the . This way you still have that Manhattan Service, and you get faster Brooklyn Service. And get that extension.
  14. I'd personally extend the and train to Northern. I don't know what an (8) train would do because I don't know what an (8) train is. Even if it was just the , it allows for a connection to trains at Broadway, and trains are Court Sq. It'll also allow them to access South Brooklyn quicker, via on Franklin Shuttle. You can even make it a transfer point between Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza. Then it'll run on Northern Blvd.
  15. I said that it'll only work if the line is running on Northern, other than that I think it's a waste (plus there's no other main road that goes to Flushing minus Roosevelt. If it's only running 6 TBH, then there shouldn't be two trains in the station. The departing train should leave as the arriving train arrives.
  16. I was referring to this. But yeah, I guess It's too big of an idea for too big of a problem.
  17. It would look something like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/14th_Street/Eighth_Avenue_station#BMT_Canarsie_Line_platform (See the map on the side) Where the switch will be a crossover at the station. it'll be like 14 St, but without the platform in the middle, it'll split.
  18. If you use the crossover before the station (make one if there needs to be one that's closer), it'll work like 8th Av.
  19. I think I said this earlier, treatment is very very important. I probably wasn't too clear in my second point. Connecting the two points I guess.
  20. I'll edit it to say $10k but i used shiznit1987's $30k estimation.
  21. the is essential to connect people from Middle Village to Midtown, people like it and I don't see a reason for it to be eliminated. the train is important because it connects riders from West End to Midtown. I don't understand why there's a need for demolishing the connection at all. Unless you're moving the to Brighton, or making an adequate replacement (Like having the on West End) or both, there's no reason for the to removed from South Brooklyn (without reason). Are you replying to your own proposals?
  22. Homeless people are better with money. Especially with food and clothes, since they're used to not having a lot. They should get a small apartment (something like NYCHA) from the city, get cleaned up, a set of new clothes and help them get a job. give them about 30k to live and Food Stamps, and make sure they're spending it wisely. maybe not in this economy but hopeful thinking in about.. 8 years.
  23. I personally disagree with anyone who eliminates the or the train. Only two trains on 6 Av, and it's a train that's local from 59 St to Norwood. I like Proposals A, D, and F. As long as the and goes down Northern Blvd (and a shuttle to LaGuardia airport.) Proposal E could be helpful, but you can just extend the <J> that train is gonna carry nothing but air [along with that <J> also, but if it's a part time route and only supplementary it won't ruin the route. Proposal G doesn't make any clear replacements, but I'm assuming that H train is going to be replacing the Franklin Shuttle. As long as you make the single tracks, two tracks, and DON'T extend to Brighton.
  24. I don't think you should have the ENTIRE 7th-Broadway line on it and you should at least put one Lexington Av line on it, probably the and leave the at South Ferry. can just be pushed back to 14th St at all times, and extend to New Lots. Leave the alone, it's pretty necessary. Replacing it with the would just make the longer and the shorter. Just keep both of them as the same and put the in Chambers or Essex. should not be discontinued entirely, you can leave it as the late night service. (especially since there's no connection between Bay Ridge and Downtown Brooklyn. should be local in Brooklyn as a supplement/replacement to the Make the express, QBL is a really long line from Jamaica to Queensbridge. the can sustain it because it only runs from WTC to Jamaica. Not a long route at all. way too long of a route, and trains (via Nassau) would not be able to take passengers where they want to go. They won't even go above 14 St, and they'll just carry air from 36 St./59 St Brooklyn to Atlantic Av.
