  1. Your train naming* would be confusing to passengers. the 'P' train can just be a 'D', your 'T' train can easily be the 'M' since you eliminated it. Then you can keep the 'T' as second avenue subway.. The train running to 205 as the sole train would be a wreck since it's the local train. Grand Concourse service will be split in half, because the shares with the and the (P) trains, without another service the Concourse will have less service than it has now. And the (P) train isn't needed in Washington Heights. Eliminating the entirely, and making it replaced with and trains instead of just changing the line it goes down is a new one for me. trains RUN EMPTY ON THE QBL, because it doesn't go to Manhattan. People like the as is, the only issue is the fact that it's only 8 cars. The (8) train would be extremely redundant with the Second Avenue Subway. Personally, I would just make your (Y) turn between 63 and 55th St, and go down 3rd Av to catch all the transfers, then turn back on 23 St, and go down First Avenue to catch all of the East Side. Building it would be a hassle however. Your 'T' train is.. fine, but without a supplement service on that line, 4th Avenue will still have less than adequate service since it'll share frequencies with the train. you might as well extend the since there's not enough space for it to all terminate at Whitehall.
  2. No idea, I was just saying best case scenario. It would be ideal, and I'm sure they can work something out that's better than what we have now. We're inside of a health crisis, now more than ever. Our Government is in shambles on both sides of the isle, especially seeing the two candidates for (re)election. These next 4 years are going to be a mess, I'm just hoping it's a mess we can clean up.
  3. If you make this [placeholder ] work, then you should remove the train. I think a better super express using the Rockaways could use Crossbay/Woodhaven Blvds to the QBL, this train feel unnecessary, but could work on it's own. It's pretty much a faster train, which (while it is long, not a lot of people complain about it since Broadway Junction is.. 30 minutes away* It'll still be the same amount of time away, and it still misses . It's like a combination of LIRR and . You should just make this train a or or something instead of using a as a place holder.
  4. Sorry if it came off as rude, but it's a forum. I'm criticizing it because it's a bad idea. It's what people do when they hear ideas that they have an opinion on. It's how this forum works. Someone says a proposal, someone gives their opinion on it, and it goes on from there.
  5. I was being sarcastic, and referring to something earlier. Mentally ill people fall victim to falling off on meds, which leads them to spiral off hard. They should definitely be treated, and checked on regularly by a nurse that can make sure they're on meds.
  6. Your train works really well at taking over the (it being the new lighter load) until it gets to 96 St, when it merges. It's a bad idea to put 3 trains with 3 different North and South terminals on one track. Merging it with the at 96 St makes your bad idea worse. If you want us to be positive, give us something positive to talk about.
  7. I don't even see a reason why this would be needed. If the is going to Parkchester, best case would be to make a shuttle from 135 to 148, instead of a whole new train, even then I would just take away Lenox Terminal. I don't even like the to Parkchester because it's.. interlining the with the . and the (Let's call your route the ) would be interlined with the and . Not only did you ruin Lexington Av, you also ruined 7th Av.
  8. We're not proposing when Phases 3 and 4 should finish, just what we would like to see with it. I agree with you that Central Bronx needs more service, because it's a huge area that doesn't have much coverage. Phases 3 and 4 is a plan that needs adjusting so that it works to the best of its ability. All we want is for the plan to be executed properly and have the best results. At this point we've accepted that Phase 3 and 4 were going to be done at least 30-50 years from now. If anything, this isn't a waste of time. A 3rd Avenue Subway is one of the more simple plans (not talking about the construction but the route is pretty straight forward, 149 St to Fordham Plaza/Northern Terminal.) There's not a lot of conversation that can be had about it. It doesn't make it any less important that we're not talking about it.
  9. Madison Avenue from 57 St to 23 St would leave the East Side from 57 to 23 St Empty, when there could've been a train there. I also don't know how the can end at Prospect Park and turn back Weekends/Late Nights. the QBL looks the same, but now it's overcrowded, because there's a (?) Local train, along with and trains. You face the same issue with Pre-2010 routes. I'm also confused on where the is, but I'm assuming that the and are on South 4th St? and the still run on Jamaica. The current Phase 3 and 4 isn't useless, and the issue that people have with it is the lack of transfers. It being not apart of Midtown isn't the problem, there's a bunch of trains in Midtown and that area is covered. But the East Side from Lex/Park Av South to FDR Drive is lacking in trains. So adding a service to Third or Second Avenue fixes that. If anything, Madison Avenue having a subway is a big waste when you can fill the gap on the East Side of Manhattan.
  10. Ways the can go beyond 72 St: Plan #1 via 2 Av and 3 Av 72 - Second Av (Turn on 57 St, and turn down on Third Av) 51 - Third Av 42 - Third Av 34 - Third Av (Turn on 30 St, and turn down Second Av) 28 - Bellevue [Not entirely sure if a stop here would be good or not, or if the stop placement should be spaced out] 23 - Second Av 14 - Second Av St. Marks Place - Second Av Houston St - Second Av Grand St - Chrystie St Plan #2 via 2 Av, 3 Av, 1 Av [Least Likely due to the turning] 72 - Second Av (Turn on 57 St, turn down on Third Av) 51 - Third Av 42 - Third Av 34 - Third Av (Turn on 25 St, turn down on First Av) 23 - First Av 14 - First Av St. Marks Place - First Av (Turn on 4 St, turn down on Second Av) Houston St - Second Av Grand St - Chrystie St Plan #3 via 3 Av (and 2 Av uptown) 72 - Second Av (Turn on 57 St and turn down on Third Av) 51 - Third 42 - Third Av 34 - Third Av 23 - Third Av 14 - Third Av Houston St - Third Av [Connect the to the Uptown platform and possibly the east side of the platforms] Delancey St - Bowery [We could create a transfer to the Grand St station] Plan #3 would have the best options in terms of transfers, and the second most easily built, it becomes repetitive and essential just a faster train. Plan #2 has sharp turns, so hard to build and run time will get cut down. It provides the best service possible in the areas, while preserving the transfers. Plan #1 has just 1 turn on Second Avenue, and is the simplest one. Of course, we could just have the down second Avenue, making longer transfers to stations uptown. (55 St and 42 St (Which are important transfers))
  11. Unless the R62/As retire this year, it's probably not gonna happen.
  12. It wasn't my proposal, he specified 36 St rather than saying they're on the local tracks. the wording of it was weird for me.
  13. I don't quite understand what you're saying, but if it ran via Lexington you'd just be doing the same route over.. Second or Third Avenue works because it's giving more (closer) service to the East Side. Also, the construction would have to dig through the Lex Line, and interrupt service. There wouldn't be any nearby service from Lexington Av to Fifth Avenue between 125 and 59 St. You'd be forcing everyone that uses the Lexington Avenue line to go downtown, to get on the M101-LTD bus. It's best to make the least amount of disruptions to current service while making new service.
  14. For it to go on Nassau you would have to cut either service back to Chambers or make service cut back to Chambers St, short of Fulton St. If we can figure out a way to rehabilitate the east side of the Nassau tracks (The one that's not in use), or swap and trains. (Where instead of Bowery, it goes to Grand St until Hanover Sq. However, it'll be a loss for routes since that doesn't connect to the line.) Combining the with service will significantly cut service along Second Avenue.
  15. Couldn't it shift over somewhere between 42 and 14 St? the train's Third Avenue station still spans from 3 to 2 Av, so it's not really a long passageway. I think Grand St is important for a connection to the Manhattan Bridge, If we were to place a train in Downtown Brooklyn, there's Fulton St and Manhattan Bridge as both possibilities.
  16. If we have a Third Avenue line from 125 St to 14 St, I'll agree that it works. Note that in my plan trains go to Queens Plaza, so there is service. I still think that St. Marks Place should be a stop, it would serve East Village well and St. Marks Pl is a particularly crowded spot with many businesses and people going by. (If it's on 3 Av it'll be next to Astor Pl.) I forgot how far off on Fulton St the was so that's mb. But the and would go to.. South 4th St? Which I'm fine with btw. The would take over both and service, which would come to the same problems that DeKalb has right now. However, the can stay on the same route until C. Square, while the goes over the Bridge, and via West End. With Atlantic being a replacement for the transfers missed. This would have Brighton be at a loss, losing it's express service. Perhaps the could go to Brighton Beach during rush hours, so that service could be replaced.
  17. I think that the East Village, would benefit from a subway on 2nd Avenue, atleast below 42 St. As someone who lives on Avenue D, the closest trains are the and trains, the being 10 minutes out by bus, and the Essex/Houston being about 30 by bus with crowding. I think St. Marks Place would be great for train service, specifically since M8 buses would be a direct way to get there. A Fulton St transfer would improve on the transfers, especially if it becomes a 125 St Crosstown. Second Avenue should have a lower level for Broadway Services so that the / can become maxed out. i think the yard space was my main issue with Astoria, though I do see a swap happening, but if there is ever a need for extra capacity, some trains can run on Astoria
  18. What if: It's about 7:13 am, and the following has happened: A downtown train has derailed while switching to the local tracks affecting downtown local and express services on Lexington Av, Multiple Track Fires have appeared in the areas of DeKalb Av (Downtown Brooklyn), Halsey St (Broadway), and right before Jay St - Metro Tech (Affects the , and trains.) A women in distress has fallen and sadly was hit by an incoming train at 63 - Rego Park, meaning no southbound local service. A wild (drunk) man with a sword, injures about 20 people by accident gets himself electrocuted at 168 St ( platforms) forcing the power to be cut from both tracks, and the police to investigate the incident. [The man was wearing a full rubber outfit so he survives] Reroute the lines in appropriate fashion:
  19. This means that both trains are running on the local track, or are they just stopping at 36 St and going back on the express?? All while trains are running through the station also? Meaning that you'd have all 4 trains stopping at 36 St, just to have the and go back on the express.. To be fair, I don't see how a Whirlpool would affect a tunnel,
  20. My main issue with the 2 Av plan is the Broadway Line on 2nd Av, I think that Northern Blvd should be reserved for Broadway Service, with trains running on the line splitting off at 36 St, via outer tracks. trains will be on Astoria, and trains will be at a Lower Level along with the , providing service to 138 St - 3 Av and 149 St - 3 Av and extending it to Fordham Plaza. trains will be a shuttle late nights, terminating at 57 - 7th Av, on the Northbound local track (running every 20 minutes), and a new switch at 5th Av. trains run it's normal route from Bay Ridge to South Ferry. (during late nights). 2 Av should also have 3 tracks (below 72 St, and after 96 St), and a 2 Av train in a new Tunnel at 57 St, stopping at Queens Plaza and 36 St. And becoming the peak direction express, for both 2 Av and Northern Blvd. (All downtown trains run express in the morning, uptown trains run express in the evening). trains run it's current route, and two tracks on 125 St terminating at Broadway. On the Southern side of 2 Av, we could make the the local train for Fulton. The train will be split at Broad Channel (Won't be need for the Shuttle except for weekends/late nights), so it can accommodate any extra capacity. trains will run to Lefferts, and become a shuttle during Late Nights. I think that 59 St should also be de-interlined so that trains can all run fluid and on schedule as planned for this to work, trains should run express, and trains would run on the Concourse, where the is the peak direction express, and ends at 145 outside of rush hours. Whenever the isn't running the runs on the local track past 145 St. The only real solution for Southern Brooklyn, without screwing customers over, would be to create a new station on the Manhattan Side of the Bridge, and fixing the current layout. But that's a separate issue. With this plan, QBL is losing a line, the . The won't be able to handle all the customers at 12 TPH. So we can accommodate this, we can have a train on 8th Avenue Local, that runs local in Queens. And using the rest of he capacity at WTC.
  21. I mean.. a whirlpool, a damn flying train crashing into flushing. I don't know how Toxic Waste crashed into the Brighton Tracks, and missed the North Bound Express track (only). It's a lot, but then again this is all hypothetical, and a lot of this wouldn't happen. Though at this point in 2020 anything could happen.
  22. I can't tell if this is a joke or irony or both.. service is suspended, service ends at Prospect Park relaying on the middle track. service is from QB Plaza to Flushing, use Shuttle, and trains for service to Manhattan. trains run on line from Rockefeller to 36 St via 63 Line. trains run via the from W 4 St to Jackson Heights. Use train for Local Service to Queens Plaza trains end at Rector St (though if it's just affecting the Loop the and shouldn't even be affected) the is running via Bridge, use trains for Whitehall Service. trains end at Bowling Green, relaying on the Uptown Bound track, (every 5 minutes), the train will run via the line. Use trains at Fulton Street.
  23. The Shuttle isn't going to run perfectly, so it's just going to force the train to leave within an exact interval. Something happens in Times Square, (between the time the train [from GC] departs and when it reaches the track switch, the train gets locked out. Especially if the train breaks down, there's no alternate tracking it can go on.
