  1. For the S&D definitions portion, will we be given the names, and asked to define them word for word or vice versa? thank you in advance.
  2. Overview Class this coming Monday. Exam is August 26th.
  3. I’ve completed the written exam, background check, Practial exam and panel interview. I was told there are no classes being scheduled at this time, but to keep an eye on my emails as that can all change very quickly. MNRR employees I’ve spoken too said they keep hearing the freeze should be gone by fall. So i guess I’ll just wait.

  10. Very standard questions, take your time and you will pass. Its cognitive questions and vocabulary. Finally a math portion. you really can’t prepare for it.
  11. Gentlemen, has any one gone thru the process and been placed on hold for sleep apnea testing. if so what did you have to do to get the situation resolved and move forward with the hiring process. Thank you.
  12. Couple questions: 1) what is the sleep apnea test? 2) can it keep you from being hired if it is confirmed you have sleep apnea?

  14. Good Afternoon, I have recently deferred and my list number is in the 1000s. I was hired as a local 3 electrician the week after I took the TO exam. What does the avg top pay look like for a TO? Can I realistically expect to break 100k? What does the pension look like? Thank-you in advance
  15. Gentleman, does any one know if TEH In E & E are eligible for promotion to E&E maintainers and then to specialists? Specialists make 46/hr. Thanks for the info.
  16. Hello everyone, just setting up a post where we can share our progress during the hiring process. April 23 was the exam deadline, the MTA will be testing us on either Saturday August 3rd, or Sunday August 4th. If you’ve taken a past exam, please feel free to post what to study for the exam, and if you have any other tips. Good Luck all.

  19. FYI it’s free if you show the conductors that you have an invite to the open house. so if you get invited back or if you get called for another job there you go.

SUPER SILLY QUESTION, BUT PLEASE HUMOR ME: A friend of mine passed the initial exam and interview at the open house last month. he has perfect credit, great work experience... however, the genius now has a pending DUI case where he refused to blow when pulled over at the DUI CHECKPOINT. is there any chance at all he gets hired? i Told him go thru the process still , be honest, pray to god and wish on the stars. Personally, I think there’s no chance in hell he gets hired.
  21. Take the job that is Guaranteed. you’re time towards retirement starts the day you start with MNR, and it rolls over to LIRR if you get called for that. MNR WILL NOT IMPEDE YOU BEING HIRED BY THE LIRR.
