  1. I would absolutely call my recruiter if that was the case, what position is this for? I’ve been told 3 different times by recruiter that they were anticipating a start date on let’s say August 12 then August 19 and now they are expecting a start date in the last week of September or beginning of October. So they might be having issues getting the classes approved as of yet. I have been told my medical cleared as well as my criminal background check, and that I’m just going to have to sit tight for the next class, so I feel your pain. I have received a start date email yet tho.
  2. Yeah exactly. mind if I ask what position you’re going for?
  3. Yeah you should be fine, what position is your PAT for and when ?
  4. Any clue on how long the exam results are good for? Should I be worried that my class that was supposed to be in September, is now “tentatively in November” i still haven’t gotten a final offer and I still see the job being posted for on MTA careers
  5. Any word on starting date? I passed my medical and PAT. Also, do you know how long our exams are good for? My class is now tentatively in November, waiting on a start date and final offer.
  6. Good Afternoon, Does any one know how long my exam or PAT/Medical results are valid for? i took my first exam In Jan, background check in Feb, interview in May, criminal background check and Conditional hire in July, and I just completed the PAT and medical last week. My recruiter said there is still not a solid date yet but I should expect November to be the month where my class goes in. Any third railman for MNR on this board and have and word?
  7. What’s up Young, thanks man I came in at 125/81 for my BP. much appreciated tip on the cinnamon, I’m sure it helped.
  8. It’s all gonna depend on the position and the classes starting date. so far for me it’s been: Exam: Jan Initial BC: Jan Interview: Mar Conditional Hiring & Background: June Medical: Aug Supposedly the class is in September/October. My friend who went for a similar position to mine was processed and hired within 3 months.
  9. Took the exam on 08/03, the staff said they were expecting 300 people in that session alone. It’s was all reading comprehension, with the exception of one of two ohms law questions or power formula questions. The answer keys will be posted on 09/05. Hopefully they give us the SPA relatively quick like the last time since they are hurting for applicants. For 2018 they took the exam in July and took the spa in December, and started hiring by June 2019
  10. I purchased cinnamon today, I’m gonna have a healthy scoop of cinnamon with overnight oats ever morning instead of coffee in the morning.
  11. The doctor already signed off on a physical release form that was required by Metro North this week stating I’m cleared to complete the Physical. I have another week or two, until the exam so I will lay off cigarettes, alcohol and start to exercise until the day of. I was at 132/91 I just need it to read a little better.
  12. Got it, I’ll try my best. any clue what documentation or clearance I can request from doctor to get ahead of this? Or is high BP a death sentence for safety sensitive positions? Thanks in advance.
  13. Oh boy I’m a 132/91 guess well she how it goes this week at my physical.
  14. How was the medical what were they looking at high blood pressure? just found out I’m in the 130s, gonna give up drinking and smoking for a bit.
  15. Thanks. The class is TBD, I was told in September/October. Third Rail Electrician, 23.75 an hour.
  16. Perfect, looks like I’m all set. All I have left is the PAT and Medical.
  17. Have you received a second sterling background check email yet? What information are they asking for in this round of the background check?
  18. Yes, there is a MNRR pension, rail road retirement is a more strengthened version of Social Security. Location-Can’t say for sure, but on my packet for Third Railman, it lists all the potential shops that I can be working at, so take a look if you still have a packet for your position. contracts- I got this from the news: Contracts governing the vast majority of the authority’s unionized workforce are scheduled to expire this year.contracts with all Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) workers will expire in 2019, and contracts with approximately half of all unionized Metro-North Railroad (Metro-North) workers also will expire in 2019. so Yes, we’ll get a new contract, but not anytime soon. Especially with this whole budget mess and job layoffs coming.
  19. Geez sounds intense. i have 40 mins to complete my PAT, then my medical is immediately after the PAT. What do the do for the Med that takes so long?
  20. Thanks for the info. My PAT is also scheduled at GCT.
  21. How was your PAT? I am given 40 mins for my PAT, did you feel like you had to rush thru? Or was it at a nice calm speed? Lastly, was every task demonstrated to you first or was it just asked that you perform it? I know you did track worker, mine is for third railman MNRR im slated to do mine next Thursday.
  22. This is a pretty silly question, they call you based on how you score on the exam. So aim for a 100 so you can be called back sooner than later. If if you take a look at the scores on the Open list from Dcas a 85 or so is putting you in the late 300s or 400s for exam 8611. it will probably be more competitive on the next exam.
  23. What’s up Danger, any clue if they are hiring another Third Railman class anytime soon? Ive kinda been at a standstill since the interview 2 months ago.
