  1. That makes a lot of sense. How close are we to finishing the 4-car order?
  2. Yeah, it's a bit of a pipe dream. But hey, maybe corporate interests will be taken over by useful spending of the region's hard-earned money (Conrail Conrail Conrail Conrail (The thru-running part at least.) I think it could go in either forum so i chose the more popular one.
  3. 14 4-car sets soon and 2 5-car sets soon... Nice!
  4. I meant the production delays prior to deliveries.
  5. The RPA is proposing a T-REX (Trans-Regional Express) service and an idea I'm putting into consideration is their Metro: http://library.rpa.org/pdf/RPA-Trans-Regional-Express-T-REX.pdf (page 39-41) Not saying i support it or not.
  6. And we can soon get to see where all the fleets re-arrange to after half a year of speculation, and also this marks the beginning of the end for the R179 delieveries!
  7. I see how you brought CBTC into this because w/o it, doing things such as only the on QBL would be unacceptable, and it makes the Canal Flip a GOOD idea in some ways, i can see a lot of service re-arranging possibilities with this.
  8. All these ideas work fine, but the one problem with the extension is just that it's really long. I would have a SAS extension instead
  9. Havent posted here in almost a month, here's a proposal of mine: (U) for the SAS. T from Fordham Plaza to Laurelton via 3rd, 2nd, Atlantic, LIRR. U from LGA- B116 via Ditmars, Astoria, 2nd, Atlantic, RBB. V from Throggs Neck-SIM via somewhere, 2nd, S4, Crosstown, Franklin, Brighton, 86th, Staten Island
  10. Did you change you name to Laguardia link N Tra? or was it automatically shortened?

    1. LGA Link N Train

      LGA Link N Train

@KK 6 Ave Local It was automatically shortened, when I realized my mistake, it was too late

  11. I've put in one part of my plan, now here's the rest. It's the (P), , and (U), with the (U) running express and the (P) local. The starts off with the at Bay Plaza, then runs along Gun Hill Blvd to 3rd Ave. They run down that until Manhattan where they join with the 125 Street crosstown. The joins up with the (P) (U) at 72nd upper. The (P) continue on to Brooklyn via Fulton, where the runs to Laurelton via Merrick Blvd using the Atlantic Branch after Bway Junction and Fulton south of that, and the (P) goes to Far Rockaway. The would serve the RBB. I haven't decided the (U)'s route in Brooklyn/NJ/Staten Island. I was thing it could join up with an extension at South Ferry, and run direct to Staten Island.
  12. My proposal for a Queens line: Two new SAS lines, the (P) and (U), part of my bigger plan for the SAS, branch off the main trunk line at 79th Street and land on Broadway in Queens. At Steinway Street, they move up to 30th Avenue and run along that avenue until 54th Street and curve downwards to the one and only Northern Blvd (Or they can curve to Astoria Blvd at Steinway). Either way, at Union Street, the (P) curves up and serves Whitestone, then turning at 14th Ave and running there until 119th Street, and goes along there until Poppenhusen Ave, where it terminates. The (U) stays on Northern until the city line. For Utopia, Fresh Meadows, and Oakland Gardens, I propose an extension of the , and for south Queens, an extension of the along Merrick Blvd.
  13. So for SAS (and system expansions being discussed rn) I think we've got a bit settled generally. So: SAS to Bronx on Webster/Third to Bay or Fordham Plaza and a line along a 79th Street tunnel to 30 Ave/Bway/Astoria Blvd and Flushing or somewhere near But we haven't settled a few things: How will we get to Staten Island and what will the SAS run on in Brooklyn?
  14. Ok, I'm reposting because the whole "R160S ARE FASTER !11!1!!!1!11 NO R68S ARE FASTER!11!!1!11!!1" thing managed to continue on: Because the falls short in money on EVERYTHING, I honestly think some kind of budget cut is to happen in the near future. Just my thoughts.
  15. A plan of this scale is nice, but I think it might need a little scaling down. The money spent on this should have a little spent on maybe a Queens line or SAS. It's better to go where you know growth will happen, anticipate it (which for W'burg and Bushwick we are 30 or so years late for) and if you're following growth, use as many existing ROWs as possible. If Bushwick/W'Burg becomes the next Midtown/LIC/Astoria/DoBro then it's necessary- almost imperative that your entire line be built. But if everyone leaves and gentrification decreases, it's a PITA to know the ridership isn't justified anymore for this huge plan.
  16. Does anyone else think a budget cut is near? I somewhat do.
  17. While a new Northeastern Queens branch is an extremely good idea, the Queens Bypass should be utilized in some way to provide fast service from Jamaica and Forest Hills to Midtown. Maybe an 8th Ave train would work instead of Second Ave? RBB would be utilized by a rerouted , part of this new service pattern for B'way: Somewhere on 125th- Coney Island Somewhere on 125th- Coney Island Astoria- Euclid on 15 tph Whitehall- Rockaway Park (One of two SAS trains on Atlantic Ave would serve Far Rockaway, while the become Lefferts-Only, and the other goes to Cross Island Pkwy with an extension)
