  1. That’s what everybody who hasn’t gotten the medical email is wondering. I would imagine that we’d get it by the end of July at the latest.
  2. I would think so. I’m just assuaging msmcmillan’s fears that there’s time of year during which school car is not running. It’s based on open positions and the list, not the time of year. If her information was correct, then I’m think it’s referring to the end of the “provisional” statuses and the start of “permanent” as LIRRMedford said.
  3. I asked a buddy of mine in Transit. They can either exhaust the whole list or they can hire a certain amount to fill the open position. School car is year round, so if they still need TO’s, they won’t stop classes after August. As long as there are open positions, there will be classes.
  4. They might be prepping the next batch of PE or they stopped, I’m unsure. I’m only observing that this thread isn’t as active as it would be if PE letters were going out at the moment.
  5. I didn’t even think of it like that! Here’s to hoping indeed!
  6. That’s what I’m hoping. They did say 30-90 days to me. I think her main concern was that there wouldn’t be any more classes for her to join. Here’s hoping we all get called and we all do well on the medica!
  7. I’m not sure. I haven’t heard anything of that sort. Where did you get that info from? I’m hoping that’s just a rumor because im in the 600’s and it would be upsetting if we had to wait an undisclosed amount of time for a second call. I’m staying hopeful that they didn’t process so many pre-employments just to stop halfway through the list of people they called.
  8. 2 weeks past PE, still waiting on medical. Let’s see how long it’ll take before the next wave of emails goes out. I’m guessing it’ll go up to around the 500’s.
  9. It's looking like it's going to take some time to get to 600+ for medical. Guess it's time to go relax and wait for the email
  10. Any future TO’s in school car now? Had a buddy of mine going through school car tell me to find out what the dress code is and what kind of shoes to get. Somebody help a brother out!
  11. Ahh, see. I got lucky. I was in there before it really got backed up. Had a nice chat with a TSS that was there.
  12. Yeah, I expected the wait after PE, and it hasn’t even been a week yet. I’m not stressing it. I know my drug screens clean . Hey maybe I saw you there! I finished around 2:00pm
  13. I’m waiting for the medical call too. Went to pre-employment on May 31st. Hang tight, it’ll come eventually.
  14. Thanks to everybody who gave me advice and insight. RTO - In your experience, would I need to goto the courts to get a disposition certification just in case?
  15. So I'm a little confused with the whole disclosure of arrest history. I was arrested/detained when I was 16-17 years old for a misunderstanding that was immediately dropped. I never received a summons, didn't get fingerprinted (that I recall, this was 10+ years ago), and was released from the station within 2-3 hours without any hassle or them even calling my parents. How do I inform them of this? It's not a conviction, and I'm not sure if it counts as an arrest or if it's even on my record. I'm not sure what the next step is in this regard. Anybody have some insight and/or advice?
  16. Hey dude, thank you for the insight. Sorry, I'm actually NOT a military veteran lol. I was just addressing the forum vets. Sorry for the mix-up! I mean, I could always take some ibuprofen 600mg if it gets bad, but how strict are they on opioids even though it's prescribed.
  17. Quick question for the Vets in here. I recently got a wisdom tooth extraction, which involved bone removal and the whole nine yards. My dentist prescribed me Tylenol w/ codeine as the painkiller. I know codeine will show up on a drug test, but am I okay if I show them a note from my dentist stating that he prescribed these meds to me? If I need to, I'm willing to just eat the pain and skip on the pain meds until after the drug test, but I just want to have an idea. Sucks that today is Saturday and I can't call the MTA.
  18. Yeah I got confirmation for pre-employment today, but like you, after reading this, I'm pretty disconcerted and wondering if this position is worth that kind of mental and physiological stress. Only time will tell I guess. Hopefully, if I get the position, the culture has changed to ensure the welfare of T/O's and subsequently the safety of those on the trains they're operating.
  19. You'll get it eventually, it's called snail mail for a reason. I didn't get my letter either, but I gave them a call and they told me that my letter was sent out on May 22nd and that I should be getting it any day now. If you absolutely HAVE to know, you can give them a call this coming Tuesday to see if they would be able to let you know like they did me. BTW, thank you for your service.
  20. I don't think they're skipping numbers. Keep in mind that this whole process is moving crazy fast. Some people will be caught off guard. My buddy and I were just joking about how this all came so suddenly that there was bound to be some people who failed the drug test because they didn't have the time to "prepare".
  21. Didn't get my letter, but I saw a bunch of people on this forum getting letters when their list #'s were higher than mine (mine was in the 6XX's), so I gave them a call. Long story short; snail mail sucks, but at least I'm invited in for pre-employment. I'll be seeing those of you invited in on May 31st.
