  1. Always adhere to the most restrictive signal. So; 15 mph it is.
  2. That’s a fact. I was staring at the screen like; wtf is this? I spent all that time memorizing the wording for 50+ signals and you hit me with this weak shit?
  3. Grey. Any bag you carry cannot be a messenger or backpack when you’re crossing tracks. There are bags out there where you can tuck/hide the back straps so you’re complying with the rule. Good brands are Kaka and Witzman. You’ll find them on Amazon.
  4. Yikes dude. That’s rough. No worries though, just study and put in that work and you’ll be good. If you have people dragging you down, it’s best to cut them now so you can focus.
  5. Lol how’s it going for your class man? Did something happen?
  6. My TSS’ are pretty cool about the uniform. I have a guy in my class who only wears grey polos and they haven’t told him anything. I would suggest you have some grey button downs as a back up if they’re not keen on your polos. Hopefully they don’t screw your induction class like they did ours. We didn’t get measured for our uniforms until the 3rd week because of a scheduling snafu.
  7. Call the school, or someone at 180 Livingston to try and work it out. We had someone in my class that didn’t attend a day of induction because he had a prior engagement.
  8. Lol that’s a fact. Cause lemme tell them i prefer the R68’s and they just throw me newtech or R32’s all day.
  9. I think I read in the induction manual that the R62 and R68 are essentially the same.
  10. Loll, you have a point. I haven’t tried the R46 or R32 yet, but I heard the new tech brakes are 👌👌. I definitely am not used to the delay on the R68’s yet, but I’m sure I’ll get it.
  11. Ah yeah...TB12 is starting in 207 yard up in the Bronx, then deadhead down to PS248. 😑😑. We had our first road day was this past Sunday. The R68 brakes are blehhhh, but easy enough. You’re gonna have lotsa fun! See ya soon bro.
  12. What’s up Legacy!! Hope you guys are doing well! Chances are, we’re gonna see each other at the school on Thursday and we’ll all be getting some OT since they’re doing uniform fitting by class.
  13. Yeah dude, your time will come. I’m fortunate enough to have a class full of supportive people who are a blast to learn with. The days fly by because we’re hungry for the knowledge. Before I know it, it’s 15:00 and it’s time to go home, and we’re still trying to squeeze some knowledge out of our TSS’.
  14. Ah man...that sucks dude. Our TSS’ told us that class cohesion and communication really helps. If you have to, try to communicate along with the two promotionals you have. If the other ones want to go solo, that’s on them, but since it’s your job, do whatever you can to get yourself on the ball. 3 brains working together are better than 1, especially if all 3 have a common goal.
  15. My class is loving it. We each took a turn operating between several stations on the E line yesterday. It was exhilarating, but I had a death grip on the brake handle because of all the grade time and station time signs I saw. Overall, it’s been amazing and very informative.
  16. It’s overwhelming for sure man. Make sure you’re communicating with your class on a daily/nightly basis. That mutual support goes a long way. Every night when I get home, I type out EVERYTHING we learned for that day as far as procedures and protocol without a book to test myself and my classmates will correct me where I’m wrong. For cuts and adds, remember the importance of testing your pilot valves before engaging/disengaging your handbrakes. Write down a check list of what you need to inspect before each step. Also; Who are your TSS’?
  17. This is good advice. Start working on cutting food intake and working out.
  18. Agreed. Yeah, for sure, the extra weight on my belt isn’t bad though. I ordered a tactical belt so I’m not going to worry about it dragging my pants down. I heard that my class’ TSS’ are really good, so I’ll definitely talk to them about the holster.
  19. Yeah man, best believe I’m scrounging through google as we speak. More stuff on my belt is less weight on my back.
  20. That was my classmate, he got it from his boy who had an extra one. I’m still trying to find out where to get one. It’d help so much to have something to hold those 3 tools.
  21. Nah, I think he just thought it was too much to take in. Also he’s young so maybe he didn’t want to commit so many years of his younger years to the TA?
  22. Honestly, I wouldn’t be too hard on the kid. He was young and it takes a certain kind of courage to know what he wanted and move on. Him leaving was probably the best move for him and for the TA as a whole.
  23. The notice sounds like T/O's would be excluded from this freeze. I don't see any reason for them to slow down on the hiring of T/O's other than shortage of school car instructors.
