That might have to do with the CBTC testing happening or the (MTA) just testing out how fast trains should run be running. I'm pretty sure about 1 month ago, the (MTA) was doing high-speed testing on Culver for how fast they should make the curves. I think there was a video on YouTube showing the test in progress which was pretty fast roaring past 7th Avenue. Although, I'm too lazy to go and find the video myself.

    Here's a new one:

    Context:

It is a Saturday, at 10:15 PM. There has been a fire in the DeKalb Ave, which has damaged signals and switches.

    (E) trains are terminating at Essex Street on the (F).

Since the Rutger Street Tubes are out of service, in both directions, (F) trains are running on the (A) in both directions.

The Broadway express tracks south of Prince Street are out of service because of signal maintenance.

Uptown (D) trains are running on the (C) between West 4th Street and 145th Street. The 6th Avenue express track can not be used for any duration.

There is also no (G) service between Court Square and Bedford Nostrand Avenues for that weekend.

This is expected to take three to four days to repair. Adjust services accordingly. Assume regular weekday daytime service when making your weekday reroutes.

so are we to do reroutes for the weekend and the weekday ?

  5. I feel like this reroute and service suspension happens at least twice a week :

(2)(3) service is temporarily suspended in both directions between 96 St and Harlem-148 St /149 St-Grand Concourse because someone was struck by a train at 116 St.

    (2) trains will operate via the (5) line in both directions between Nevins St and 149 St-Grand Concourse.

    (3) train departures from Harlem-148 St are suspended. Limited (3) service will operate between New Lots Av and 137 St-City College on the (1) line.

Expect delays on the (1) line and (4) line while they share their tracks with re-routed (2)(3) trains.

    Weekday Service

  6. There is no (A) train service between Inwood-207 St and 145 St in both directions while we get FDNY assistance with a report of smoke near 181 St.

Some northbound (A) trains are stopping along the (D) line from 125 St and will end Bedford Park Blvd.

There is limited (C) train service between 145 St and 168 St in both directions.

Some northbound (A) and (C) trains will end at Chambers St or 125 St.

As an alternative, consider using (1) train service or Bx7/M3/M4 bus service.

So I'm at BG uptown side. This dude in front of me has no MetroCard, walks past the token booth over to the emergency exit hoping an exiting passenger goes through so he can fare jump.

But he sees me with my PPR out walking to the turnstile. Starts shouting "EXCUSE ME" and gesturing for a swipe.

Meanwhile, (4) train pulls in, ~5 folks get off, but no one thru the emergency exit. Dude is still yelling "EXCUSE ME" at me as I get on the train. He finally gets a swipe, but the C/R closes the doors right as he gets through the turnstile. He's mad and glaring at me as the train pulls out, and I flip him the bird.

    AITA?

    I would’ve just hopped 😂

Today at Flushing Ave on the (J) there was a crackhead injecting a needle into his arm while sitting on the steps within fare control. This was the recently reopened entrance at Flushing Ave so no fare booth there.

shit’s nasty but pretty much regular at this point

If we're talking about Broadway Junction, there's an uphill slope east of the Station going Northbound, because of that, there's a time control signal showing that trains can only go 10 MPH If I'm not mistaken.

Yeah , my fault , I’m used to referring Broadway Junction as the Junction

Outside of Crescent - Cypress, Alabama - Broadway Junction both ends of Myrtle Ave and the WillyB most of the outdoor portion of the (J) is straight trackage with no timers.

If I had to choose I'd say 104th N/B and 111th S/B... the train gets assistance from gravity at those stops due having go over the LIRR ROWS.

111th S/B is an amazing spot to fan on the (J) , also Flushing & Lorimer during rush hour

Shocker! Return them immediately, sue bombardier and exercise the option order of R211s to replace these pieces of junk. They will break down again, just wait. I prediced this would happen in February and everybody doubted me, no look.

Just goes to show we didnt really need these cars to begin with. Even back in January when Jamaica didnt have all these R160s to offer, the system still managed fine with the R32s and R42s.

so what if the last of the working 32s and 42s break down while we wait for the 211s ? Then what ?

  12. Part Suspended

    (B) , (D) , (N) , (Q)  and (R) service is significantly disrupted between Brooklyn and Manhattan because of a switch problem at DeKalb Av.

    (B) TRAINS

Northbound (B) train departures from Brighton Beach have been suspended.

There is no southbound (B) service past Broadway-Lafayette St in Manhattan. All southbound (B) trains will run on the (F) line from Broadway-Lafayette St to 2 Av and turn back northbound.

    (D) TRAINS

There is extremely limited northbound (D) service between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Most northbound (D) trains will end at Atlantic Av - Barclays Ctr and turn back toward Coney Island.

There is no southbound service on the (D) line from W 4 St - Wash Sq to Coney Island - Stillwell Av. Southbound (D) trains are running on the (F) line between those stations.

    (N) /(Q) TRAINS

Northbound (Q) trains are running with extensive delays in Brooklyn.

Northbound (N) and (Q) trains are running on the Rline from DeKalb Av to Canal St.

At Canal St, board northbound (N)/(Q)  trains on the (R) train platform.

  13. Multiple Impacts

There are delays and multiple impacts in (N) , (Q) , (R) and (W) train service while we get FDNY assistance for reports of smoke in the 60 St tube.

    (N) and (W) trains are running between Queensboro Plaza and Astoria - Ditmars Blvd in both directions.

Northbound (N) and (W) trains are stopping along the (Q) line from 57 St - 7 Av to 96 St.

Some northbound (N) trains will end at Atlantic Av - Barclays Ctr.

Some northbound (R) trains are stopping along the (D) line from DeKalb Av to 47-50 Sts - Rockefeller Ctr then via the (M) line to Queens Plaza.

Some northbound (R) trains are stopping along the (Q) line from 57 St - 7 Av to Lexington Av/63 St then via the (F) line to 36 St (Qns) in both directions.
