  1. I also applied for that as well, didn’t hear from them as yet . I just want my foot in the door .
  2. Congrats! I applied for that one as well . Didn’t get called for that unfortunately . Was the exam difficult ?! I also applied for Ticket seller for metro-north hopefully I hear back from them . I really wanted more of a customer service position, but if I have to start at coach cleaner to get in, I will. Good luck on the interview, report back to let us know how it goes.
  3. Did you apply for the ticket seller or you already took the exam? I recently applied for ticket seller , background check is complete as far as I’m concerned, it took a while for me to provide some of the documents, their background check is no joke , I needed a lot of job verification documents , which I had to wait for an appointment at the SSA office , hope that doesn’t effect the process.
  4. Has anyone that got invited to the exam in December, got a call back for a interview as yet?
  5. Normally, it will take some time for the status of your application to change. Some even just remain as “applied” , but don’t let that discourage you. I was recently invited to an exam for a position that says “applied” in the application status, and a lot of the jobs that said I “passed the pre screening” , I’ve never heard from them.
  6. Thank you! Did you hear of any talks of an upcoming exam for this title?
  7. It’s on the Mta careers / job posting page it was posted on January 10th I believe.
  8. Hey everyone, I saw metro north posted a ticket seller position , im highly interested . I’m currently in the background stage for metro north coach cleaner , but would really like a customer service position. Any one with any Information to share on the exam; such as what will be on it , is it hard or not , and the position and duties required, would be awesome . thanks in advance
  9. Hey everyone, I saw metro north posted a ticket clerk position , im highly interested . I’m currently in the background stage for metro north coach cleaner , but would really like a customer service position. Any one with any Information to share on the exam; such as what will be on it , is it hard or not , and the position and duties required, would be awesome . thanks in advance
  10. Yes if everything goes well and I get the job I plan to transfer out , i just really want to get in , I saw they recently posted a ticket seller position for metro north , are you planning to apply for that ? I have a question about background check . They are asking for pay stubs and proof of employment for all jobs listing , only thing is I don’t have access to that information , is there a way to get it?
  11. I’m a female , are there many females that enter the car repair or car inspector craft? You say your a custodian so I’m assuming “Attendant Terminal Appearance “ is your craft? Do they get paid weekly as well ? I was hoping for a call back from this position. The advancement steps are more appealing .. Ticket clerk, customer service usher etc .
  12. Thank you so much for your answers, finding info on Metro North is so hard. If everything goes well I will be leaving healthcare (dietary aide) for this job . I will be employed at my current job for 4 yrs this year and it is union(1199), this would be a big decision for me as I will be taking a $2.30 pay drop which is not a problem if working for MTA metro north is worth it , healthcare isn’t my passion so leaving for a BETTER opportunity wouldn’t bother me . Once again thank you for taking the time out to respond, and if I make it past the interview stage , looking forward to being in the company with you !
  13. Wow sounds very inconvenient, That leaves little room to plan accordingly. what is the differential like? If any at all, and when does it start , stop? what is your current position with metro north , and how do you like the company? I also read that coach cleaners can only advance to positions within their union, so for coach cleaners I believe it’s TWU 100 , what would be some jobs I could potential move up to ? I know ticket clerk is out I know there are represented by TCU. im sorry for all the questions .I’ve been waiting for a knock On my door from the mta for a long time. Thank you for your response and I wish you a prosperous NEW YEAR .
  14. There isn’t much information about this job on the forum but I hope someone can shed some light . i took my exam for MNR coach cleaner on Friday , I was notified today I passed. I’m excited ! However the pay has got me a little uneasy , but I’m willing to take the pay cut if it’s worth it . I don’t understand the bidding and bumping protocol, I heard they pay weekly for this position, can anyone share their experience in this role, how fast can you get into another position? perks? Any information will be appreciated, thanks in advance
  15. Hey guys , after long waiting and consistent prayers I finally got an email for an exam ! It’s for metro north coach cleaner , I applied for this so long ago I forgot the starting salary, can someone fill me in? Also can you share your experiences in this job title , and working with metro north in a whole. Thank you in advance
  16. I finally got an invitation to an exam! it’s for metro north coach cleaner , it’s not what I was hoping for but I’m still grateful to finally get a call back ! Thank you for taking the time out to reply to my post !
  17. Hey everyone , I’m a bit frustrated now at this point. Been applying for jobs on the MTA website since 2018 and I’ve never gotten a call back at all . Despite having numerous jobs say passed prescreening , and even one that says “ passed “. I’ve never been contacted or invited for examination . I guess my question is , are they any factors that will prevent you getting a call back. I’ve had a city job before in CUNY and was fired , could that be a reason? Also back in 2017 I received a ticket from the MTA because I got on a select bus and it was stopped by cops and I didn’t not have my slip . Could that be a reason? At this point I’m trying to figure out why not at least one call back , especially because the jobs I did apply for , I’m more than qualified for. I applied for attendant terminal appearance , back in august. A few weeks ago I saw people come in saying they got invited for the test . It’s just discouraging , I really want to start my career in the MTA , and my current job in healthcare ain’t it , smh
  18. When they sent you the email , was it in your spam folder and from what email address, I applied for this too back in August.
  19. Yes it’s basically a custodial job, But a really good way to get in. metro north is the better of the companies , they pay a little more . I applied for the posting they had in August . Is that the one your taking a test from ? Kinda bummed out I didn’t hear nothing back from them . They only emailed me telling me something pertaining to Covid vaccination mandate.
  20. I recently receive a email from HCPRD@mtabsc.org. the email stated info about vaccination guidelines for some of the jobs I applied for . Does this mean I should be hearing back from one of those jobs shortly?
  21. Hey guys , long time lurker first , well second time poster . I’m looking for a job change and I’ve been trying to get into the MTA . I haven’t taken any exams but I applied for a few jobs that were posted , and a couple of them said passed prescreening. my question is , did anyone from here get an email from any posted jobs lately? I notice Metro North has been hiring , I applied for a few positions for them and still nothing. I also wanted to know , let’s say if s person had a job through CUNY and was terminated before they completed probation , would that prevent or cause issues when trying to get a job FOR the MTA ?
