  1. That still will not prevent you from being hired. Put you were terminated. As long as you put it on application. It’s not a big deal or anything to disqualify you.
  2. I had a speed zone ticket where the camera flashed my car right before I was hired and as long as I paid it I was good. Just put everything on paper, if you don’t and they find out then they fired you for it.
  3. Is it the regular camera tickets? If that’s the case you’re good.
  4. No the training. Don’t know they were just escorted out the building.
  5. Ok. Best of luck. You will be good. Just will have to go back to 180 every six months after you’re hired to see the doctor. I have to go six months too.
  6. With the permit. After everyone go to Day 10 and pass, you will then go to East Chester for DMV training while you awaiting your road test date. Once you pass at 1st try you go to your Depot for line training. Just make sure you pass the Zerega 10 days training on day 7. In that way you have more shot at the DMV just in case you don’t get it on 1st try. Day 7 is 1st test day, then day 9 then 10. Day 10 is nerve wrecking who don’t make it then have to go upstairs and resign. I was there on day 10 when the others were taking their test, once you drive back the bus into Zerega yard that means you pass. If the Instructor back the bus back in you fail. So good luck. Stay very positive in the process.
  7. I had the same issue. This is exactly what kept me back for a while, then I had to hunt them down sending emails on top of emails and finally got hired and in line training right now.
  8. Do you have your CDL license? If not start studying the pre-trip while you can. And if you have the license you only have to learn the air break testing what they call ALSAP.
  9. Exactly when you will start as long as you don’t have any medical problem. Go get it. Too many people waiting for your spot.
  10. Worst thing to do. Who ever start before you will have seniority ahead of you. The faster you get in the better. And you may have a hard time getting on to the people at 180 or them getting back to you. Be positive and move forward. When you think that way everything will move forward with and for you.
  11. I’m enjoying driving the big bus but no time too much for yourself while in training. And if you’re driving to work make sure you choose a depot where there’s parking. Some depot like Grand Ave, parking is a problem for the new folks. It’s around lots of warehouses and lucky if you come and reach your car the same way you left it too.
  12. Lots of 12 hours, 5 days a week, 4:50am to 4:38pm. It’s going to be early morning for line training.
  13. I left my job because I know what I wanted and that I was moving forward. I knew they would take me back. The school bus companies are crying out for drivers.
  14. Like Andy 1 said. Or the best way is to take leave of absence or ask for a 2 weeks family leave or so. Not everyone pass the 10 days training. And if you don’t have your CDL license you will need more time after the 10 days training. They should have a another class on 3/13
  15. Ok. So next is medical and clearance, start date. Be prepared. Once you’re medically cleared you’re most likely going to start that Sunday thereafter.
  16. Thank you too. Keep pushing, you have to email and call like crazy sometimes.
  17. Wow they’re moving very fast. My list number for 1100 is in the six hundred and I was hired end of January. In line training right now.
  18. Well it’s just like someone now going to do everything all over. And yes he was successful and is ready to start line training at the Depot.
  19. Good night. They want to know what you did right after high school. Yes and all the jobs dear.
  20. Good night. MTA Bus do have a pension plan only difference OA & TA pension is more. I have sibling/friends who’s MTA Bus.
  21. No it’s not. I did 3 drug test before I actually finished my process. It expires in 30 days. The medical is 90. I had to plea with them to get me in a class because I did not want my medical to expire after being on medical hold, run back and forth with my doctors etc. so I know what I’m talking about.
  22. Yes take MABSTOA. You have many more options and the benefits are much greater than MTA Bus. At least you wouldn’t have to switch.
